So this is for a prompt from Freeze, a ship in the theme of Secondhand Serenade's "Fall For You" (my new favorite song ^_^)

I woke up happy today. It was one of those rare times when you just want to start singing and dancing around the room without knowing or caring why. I glanced across the bed to the relaxed, snoring outline of my love, the adorable Vechs. I put my chin on his arm, completely content to watch him rest.

With a quiet exhale, he opened his clear blue eyes. His dimply smile appeared and reached up to caress my cheek. After a second, I kissed his hand and got out of bed, ready to face any amount of creepers.

“Relly?” Vechs’ call came, and I stopped in the door way and turned around, taking a step back into our bedroom. The handsome smile was still there. “Love you till forever, Bits.” I bounded back into the bed, kissing him fiercely. “I love you way beyond that, Vechs.”

Usually, we walked to town square together, but Vechs had said last night that he needed to catch up with Etho about some project they were planning. So I found Baj walking in a similar direction and chatted with him about a stray cat that I had seen wandering around his cathedral. Baj said his goodbye and turned and walked off into the dense forest.

Walking into the square, I saw Vechs leaning against a fence post, picking at his fingernails. Completely forgetting about everything else, I skipped over to him. He didn’t even look up. Slightly taken aback, I grabbed his too-big helmet and plopped it on my head, peering goofily up at him. He just grabbed his helmet off my head and shuffled toward Davion Keep. I watched him, not sure of what just happened.

I almost double times it to catch up with him and decided against it, instead headed out to go mining, something I needed to do anyway. The whole time, I could stop thinking about his abrupt change. After loosing all my loot in some dungeon far away, I gave up and went back to our house. I sat on our bed and waited all night, but he never came home.

I woke up that morning cranky. If you were to find a momma bear and hold her cubs just out of reach, there is no way she’d be more upset than I was this morning. I stormed out of the house and blew past everyone to Vechs’ hideout. He was there of course, working on some corner of some room that I couldn’t care less about.

“What the hell did I do to you?” I screamed at him. “Why would you just suddenly shut me out.” He must of not seen my entrance, because he jumped enough to make his helmet fall off his head. He fished it up off the ground, pushed it back down on his head. “Aureylian, I am busy. What do you want?”

His use of my full name threw me. “I- I just want to know how your day has been. But since you’re busy...” I must say, I got out of there pretty quick. After that display, I didn’t feel like spending the night at our place. So I decided to start building my own place.

I had been building for awhile, and had made some good headway. I straightened up for a stretch, and saw a lonely Vechs sitting on my wood pile. My hand went to my bow, thinking about shooting him, just once to show him the distaste of his presence right now. “You don’t want to talk to me earlier, and yet here you are.”

He started to say something, stopped and walked away. I wish I could take it all back.

You're allowed to hate me for the lack of a happy ending. I might get around to writing one, but who knows.
