Part 2 of the prompt Freeze offered. Prepare your bodies.

Today I woke up completely desensitized. It’s been a month since Vechs and I slept in the same bed. I had been spending a lot of time alone building my mansion, not really wanting to be with people.

But today I didn’t have that option. I have to go into town for the monthly meeting. Sevadus, my new neighbor, joined me about halfway to town. He was babbling on about some expansion to Redstone Town, when I saw them.

My Vechs and Etho. Standing under that monster oak that I accidently grew so long ago. Etho’s hand caressed Vechs’ cheek, and leaned in. I couldn’t take it any more. My hand went to my scabbard, drew my trusty sword, and ran at them.

“This is what you do to me?” I screamed at my former lover, “You cut me out to be with him?” My sword point went to his throat. I so wanted to push. “You deserve to feel the pain that I went through. But because you’re a selfish pile of shit, this’ll have to do.”

I flicked my wrist to the left, leaving a nice gash leading up toward his ear. I turned slowly to look at Etho, who had taken his bow out, and was ready to grab an arrow. “Don’t touch my man,” I snarled at him, then turned back to the path, ready for the meeting.

Sevadus was still on the path where I left him. “You know,” I said, “No one really lives nearby Redstone Town. Why don’t you just petition the Board for some of that land?”

Okay, she was a little unfair in giving me that token of affection, but I deserved it. There was no way that she could have known what was going on under that tree, or what had lead to me being a heartless bastard.

Two weeks before our falling out, I had cheated on her. With Zisteau.

It was a mistake, I knew it as soon as I left, but everything, it just happened all at once.

Zisteau came by. He said he needed a second opinion on some tree he had cobbled together. So I went out to his place. I looked at the tree, then at him and realized that I needed to have him in that moment. He must of thought the same thing, because he invited me inside. One thing lead to another, then I cheated on my Relly-bits.

A couple of days later, I was in town square, and Etho, the damn ninja, pulled me aside. He said that he heard from Ads that he had seen Z and I, well, cheating. He gave me a choice. He told me to choose between Aurey and Zisteau, or he would tell her that I had cheated.

The morning before the fight, I had decided. I choose Zisteau. I don't know why. Aurey was just so distant. It semmed she had other priorities. I just didn’t advertise my decision. So i was silent, and she left. I let her move into the place she was constructing, and spent the nights dicreetly and Pigderp’s place. For a month. A very long month.

The day of the meeting was the deadline for my choice. Etho hadn’t heard anything from me, so he assumed that I was still struggling to make up my mind. That’s why we were under the tree. He must of scouted ahead to know that Aurey and Sev would walk past there towards the square, and forced a confutation. Well, it worked.

To be fair, it wasn’t a very deep cut, just meant to scar. But I did make sure that he got to JSano, who was in town anyway. That’s where Vaks told me. Everything.

“I realized, today,” he continued, “Under the tree, just after you cut me, that you’re crazy.”

JSano left to dispose of the bloody gauze. “This is your apology? Needs some work.” I said, rolling my eyes.

“Not an apology, that’s later. Let me finish.” He sighed, struggling to keep it together. “I realized that you’re crazy, but I already knew that. I realized under the tree that I’m crazy too. Crazy in love with you.”
