I have this brainthought that Millbee is actually really eloquent in his brain/when he takes the time to think his words through, and just enjoys being silly. It's probably the voice making me feel that way, though. That gorgeous voice. Maybe I'm just writing tons of words for him so I can listen to his voice say them :P

You and me both, dear. One of my current projects is Millbee/Pause and yup. The Millbee in my head has a way with words from time to time.

I can totally believe that what Millbee thinks and what actually comes out are often very different. I feel like he gets flustered/distracted easily, and so even if he had note and a plan, he'd still end up starving in the middle of nowhere without any pants on because he started chasing a butterfly. But I also believe that if he really tries he can focus and be badass. Did you see the recentish group event where they were all playing paintball in Guudeland and Millbee was killing it with the bow? It's entirely possible it was a fluke, but I like to think that he's got skillz when he really concentrates and isn't thinking as much about "must keep a running commentary going" like in a UHC...

See for me, there's a difference between being secretly a badass and being secretly wise/eloquent - Millbee is the former and Bdubs is the latter, as I see it. (Though to be fair, it's not entirely secret for Bdubs.)

And it's nothing against Millbee - he's an absolute sweetheart and crazy skilled (sure it seems like he's "derping around" in retro gaming month, but he's doing a hell of a lot better than I would be that's for sure). He's just very, very direct and not afraid to be very honest, especially about sex.

I think if Beef came up to him all "you know, I get why you're so into Pause because I think I'm getting that into Pause but uh Pause is yours isn't he" Millbee's response would be very simple: that Pause has enough love to go around, that Pause really does find Beef sexy, oh and that Pause happens to be amazing in bed and doesn't Beef want to find out just how good he can be? There wouldn't be any dancing around the topic with Millbee. It's nothing against him, it's just that's how he rolls.

I think you got your former and latter mixed up, though maybe not. (BDubs described as wise or eloquent makes me chortle though. Even secretly.)

and I can definitely see Millbee acting the way you describe. Basically because that's how he acts! :D

Have you heard his Building with Bdubs episode on "what we can get" vs. "what we can give"? Or the way he hypes up Kurt during Kurt's livestreams? Bdubs is filled with hidden wisdom that he hides behind cheeky one liners. :P

I don't think I have, though perhaps. He does have moments of insightfulness, and I don't think you need to be smart to be wise, but I still wouldn't call him eloquent, and while I think a lot of his "playing stupid" is an act, I don't think he's a very smart man...

Oh yes, absolutely. At least for me, "very, very direct" and "has a way with words" are not in conflict.

I acknowledge that I may have a different definition of "has a way with words" than most, since in my mind, "Drop your trousers, Pause" would sometimes qualify.
