Here is a place to discuss all of your thoughts and feelings, shippy and otherwise, about Mindcrack! Feel free to contribute whatever you'd like. :D

For my own contribution, I have lots of thoughts and feelings about "To Hear the Words" (and sadly very little actually written) over on my journal that I'll be posting in a bit, so go check that out if you're interested.

Well, Kurt's managed to break my heart a little bit and give me some vicious plotbunnies at the same time. First there was Zisteau and Beef's caving challenge, and the repeated message of 'Kurtmac hit the ground too hard'. That was actually pretty funny, though it did give me thoughts about Z going to find him after the caving challenge to see if he was okay.

Then we get Kurt's video (Mindcrack #19), which turns into a rambling introspection on self-image and some quite personal stuff, with the help of a little wine. Or possibly a lot, from the tweet later on. "Drinking a whole bottle of wine by yourself is something normal people do on a Thursday night right? Right?" He also mentioned it was fun watching OOG in the same state it was recorded - which would mean very drunk indeed. He's previously mentioned not having any friends IRL, but he genuinely seems to be looking forward to Minecon and meeting some of the other guys. Also in this episode, he talks about starting to work out a bit, and trying to find more of a personal style with clothing.

The upshot of all this is my brain going "....yeah, Kurt really doesn't want to be alone anymore."

So now I have half of another fic, with Zisteau doing some self-analysis about his feelings for Kurt, and Kurt being a bit drunk. I'm not sure whether to go for drunk kisses that Kurt can panic about later; or just more introspection, and more not-talking about the growing elephant in the room. Maybe with hugs/comfort though.

You know, I never really put the pieces together before today (probably doesn't help that I hadn't gotten around to watching Kurt's most recent Mindcrack). That is really heartbreaking! I wonder if part of the reason for Kurt's drinking is attempting to save Wolfie and failing, or wondering about the future of FLoB more generally. He did have concerns before about burning out/running out of things to talk about/etc. And I know about the TARDIS sounds and bark at the end of his last FLoB, but I think that was more "this is my vote and I'm showing it with my editing skills" than "this is what I actually chose to do". Considering his continued avoidance of the series that's considered his "bread and butter" - and possibly the lowered viewership that comes from him semi-abandoning a series everyone subscribed to him for - it's probably very worrying indeed if that's the case.

Drunk!Zisteau is much more impulsive and prone to make "bad" decisions than sober!Zisteau (compare: Zisteau on the early part of Vechs maps vs. Zisteau in solo UHC) so I guess where your fic goes depends on how much whiskey you get into Zisteau's system. Not that Zisteau kissing Kurt is a bad decision in the end, of course. ;)

PS: do we know if Zisteau's going to Minecon?

* Why is it I was disappointed when Genny Google-Translator-tweeted in German about his "boyfriend's" video and it wasn't Doc? I swear to God that hermit flirts with just about everyone. I wonder what people's reactions to his overtness is? I wonder if Guude is worried Genny will take his Bdubs away from him? I wonder if Etho thinks he has no chance with Doc now?

* Does anyone else think Shree has a bit of a Kurt hero complex? Minecraft, KSP, and now racing games even though Shree thinks he's bad at them...hmm....

* Nebris announcing he's been busy with real life partying kind of recolored my view of him a bit. I liked my old view of Nebris, where a good time included watching Disney movies with a handful of friends. That being said, "college girls and alcohol" could include watching Aladdin with a dozen people, I guess? I dunno. FEELINGS?

Also Kurt troll-commenting in that Reddit thread, and the fact that once upon a time (before Kurt got his official flair) he had Nebris flair...a weird combination but maybe it could work? I dunno? :P

Genny is a very charming type of flirt, although I don't get the impression he's out to steal anyone. And I don't think Guude would have anything to worry about - Bdubs adores him.

You could be on to something. Plus, the meteor! He was waiting the whole time for Kurt to say something. Which socially-awkward Kurt completely missed. Poor Shree.

I had the impression that 'college girls and alcohol' was sarcasm?

Are we talking real!Kurt or the person who pretended to be Kurt before he gave him the account?

Anyone else here watching Vechs' dev commentary LP of Waking Up? Today the Clever White Text (as distinct from Kurt's Snarky Yellow Text) decided to mention that Pause calls Vechs "Vexerpoodles", and then called Zisteau "Zistykins". I just. What. Also, did Vechs get "myah" from Mashed Potatoes or vice versa?

Edit: Oh my good gravy, more Team B shenanigans! Poor MC trying and somewhat failing to ham it up for them - and it was MC Steve too, aww. And the two of them parodying Doc's intro, ahahaha oh my heart. I wonder if Etho has anything up his sleeve, especially considering Team B trying to sweeten up "his man"?

I have fallen even more in love with Vechs since he began the Clever White Text (I was calling it the Snarky White Text to draw the allusion to Kurt, but I like Clever better.) Also, ZISTYKINS. Something about Zisteau/Vechs will always hold a special place in my heart. Vechs made maps, but I feel like they started getting a lot better and a lot more creative once he had Zisteau to challenge with them...or something.

(Not that I love TSMS any less, of course. Vechs and Kurt both compliment Zisteau, just in different ways. Different and equally awesome ways.)

Just caught up on B Team. Oh man. XD I love how they figured Kurt wasn't bribeable, but wonder if threatening him is going to backfire. Y'know, if Zisteau should hear about it, he might not be feeling bribeable either.

Does anyone want to write an OOGE three-way? Oh god.

Not so much the OOGE from last night, but the two or three before that, they were all just so ON. No innuendo or anything because, you know, Etho, but very much in sync, much more so than I've ever seen before. Gave me some feelings, dammit.

IS HE FOR REALSIES? Nebs is probably the only Mindcracker other than the Beefster who I would listen to talk about absolutely anything for hours and never get annoyed by his voice. Not to mention the morning voice which I have already made my opinion about clear. But that makes me quite sad that Nebs does not realize how much his voice is loved.

Also, I'm only half through the videos, but he's spent a lot of time discussing sports and Fantasy Football. Combine that with the comments about liquor and girls he made on the subreddit the other day, and I totally want to see some Mindcrack AU with Nebs as the confident jock-closet nerd with a crush on the cute nerd (insert Mindcracker here).

I like a lot of voices: Nebris and Beef, as you said; but also Millbee, Kurt, Doc (I have a thing for German accents, I blame my other fandom) and occasionally Bdubs and Zistykins (I'm officially calling him Zistykins now) too. It makes me sad that Nebris is self-conscious about his voice. But then again, Kurt is self-conscious about his appearance and I don't think he has much to worry about, so...

I would watch a Nebris gridiron LP like I watch Bdubs' basketball LP. And I love that idea of an AU. I'd ship him with MC because that is my bulletproof ship - also because MC's personality is adorable and very veeeeeeery "typical nerd" as a nice contrast.

True or false: Nebris is to Neil Patrick Harris as Guude is to David Bowie.

Nebris is third on my sexy voice list, after Etho and Millbee. Those two kill me. (There's a reason I will "ship" either of them with pretty much anyone.) But Nebris has got it going on, for sure.

The other one who gets me on a regular basis is Pause. Not always, but every so often he warms up his tone or something and just .. yum.

A few months ago Nebris posted an image of his desktop wallpaper on the Reddit. It was Neil Patrick Harris on a unicorn. I died.

I feel like always such a Debbie Downer, but I'm among those who don't love Nebris' voice. He just sounds like a chain smoker to me which is really unattractive. It doesn't annoy me the way some of the other guys's voices annoy me (MC and Adlington, mostly, I am a horrible person), but it doesn't begin to approach sexy, sadly. (I listened to that "morning voice" video a couple times a few weeks ago just going "..... what? Really?")

But, the world would be a very boring place indeed if we all found the same things attractive. XD

This is somewhat random, but my fandom friends are all talking about Yuletide brainstorming right now. Anyone think there's any potential in nominating Mindcrack for it? It might be an interesting/sneaky way to get some more people into this side of the fandom...

I've definitely thought about it. I'm not entirely sure how it'd be tag wrangled though. Any thoughts on that? (If we could get ahead of the curve and start posting some of our fics onto the AO3 *now* so that it's easier on the mods and they know the fandom exists but is tiny that would be doubly excellent.)

The one thing is that it's highly, HIGHLY unlikely that any of us would be paired with each other for Mindcrack fic, just because Yuletide is so huge and we are so small - also because the number of characters is so big and I don't think offering "any character in this fandom" is an option for writers, or "seriously, just write me a story in this fandom because I love all of these crazy cats" is an option for a prompter.

Still, it's certainly an option! Perhaps we could all repost our Mindcrack prompts/letter parts here for ease of use?

Also I like how he's all "oh yeah, I'm neutral now" but his comment replies are all about Etho, including one directed at Genny. (Though watch me watch more Orcs Must Die and flip that again.)

Speaking of my dirty thoughts, did anyone else raise a brow when Beef described being tongue tied as his thick tongue not being able to wiggle enough to utter words?

...am I a terrible person?

Not at all. Beef's been making a lot of fantastic innuendo lately. I loved the "I keep losing my wood... it happens when you get older" one, as well. Not sure I'd really want fic about Beef having difficulties getting it up, but that might be amazing as well, especially with a patient and dedicated lover who views it as a fun challenge, hahahah.

Is it weird that I've also seriously considered the fact he might be in a wheelchair as a reason why he hadn't shown his face? He had a story once, months ago, about a snowboarding (I think it was) accident he was in where his body totally went weird like his legs bent back over his head or something when he fell, and it got me wondering. He seems to adamantly profess that he has two fully functional normal legs in the podcast, so there's that, but it was nevertheless giving me story ideas... Nothing solid enough to prompt but...
