Dimensions Part 9: The task

So this is probably the last major info chapter, the rest should appear in dribs and drabs. This is also short.
Beginning

The new term started. Everyone had arrived over the weekend, they were chatting in the form room. The students explaining to the newest students how exams were run for the various departments. Also informing them that for their primary section they'd have to pass both basic tests, which everyone does, and an advanced test.

The headmaster walked in.

‘Good morning students, today your exam begins.’ He waited for the groans to dissipate

‘I have heard that Nebris was briefly in possession of a specific book from the Boulderfists’ household. You should defer any questions to him.’ Nebris feigned innocence.

‘You are to travel to the other worlds that we consider safe. These are all represented in the awards some of you received last term. Go to these worlds; find yourselves, speak to yourself and bring your group together in all of them. You are not allowed to force them to talk to each other, you can only convince them to go to the same place. They must not know that is to potentially meet new people. You may find some have already found each other in other worlds.’

‘As for that which you must know that Nebris can't know. You will find a world where their Millbee can trash our Anderz, Zisteau and Nebris at the same time with no issue. Conversely you will find a world where our Millbee could accomplish this, at a price. The Ages of the other versions of you may shock you.’ He watched Nebris as he said this, as if watching for comprehension.

‘You are all to pack food and drink. You will be expected to spend your weekends here. You can return at any time. It may be, at least at first, wise to come here to sleep. Once you have packed, return here and I will take you to the portal.’

Seth and Blame were packing in their joint room.

‘What do you think caused you to get your trophy?’

‘I'd rather not think about that, not after the way that people responded’

‘I suppose, Nebris also got a dark trophy, but then everyone's always been cautious around him’

‘I'm not like him’

‘Etho and I where the only ones in our year to get the same trophy, not even Pause and Coe did’

‘Maybe it's one of you rubbing off on the other, you've been nearly inseparable’

‘What about you and Pak?’

‘What about us?’

‘You guys hang out a lot, and he got a light trophy.’

‘Can you not just accept that we'll figure out what they mean when we're surrounded by people from the different worlds?’

‘Which one are we from then? Who is the best of us?’

‘Depends what you look for’

‘Exactly, it's not clear cut’

They eventually all arrived back in the portal room. The headmaster stood waiting.

‘You should divide into groups. I suggest that those that won colour awards are split such that each group is represented by one colour and each colour is represented by one group.’ After Much discussion the group split into the smaller requested groups.

Red group contained Zisteau, Vechs and Pyrao

Yellow Group contained Aurey, Chad and Sevadus

Blue Contained Kurt, Beef and Guude

Green group contained Pause, Coe and Avidya.

Purple contained Pak, Nebris and Baj

Orange group contained Seth, Etho, Anderz and Doc

Black group contained Blame, Arkas and Mhykol.

White group contained JSano, Adlingtont, MCGamer and Millbee

The Headmaster Started talking once the groups where settled. ‘As each group has one person that has qualities that certain dimensions have, each group will start in that dimension, so that you can slightly easier get used to the differences. And now a thing I'm sure some of you have been wondering, which one are we in? This dimension can be referred to as the green one, and as such, the green group should disperse into the other groups.’

Pause moved to blue. Coe moved to yellow. Avidya moved to black.

The Headmaster then took each group though one by one.

Each group, in turn, followed the Headmaster towards the main office. The Receptionist got up and opened the door into her office, and the headmaster headed to his office. Once they entered, she led them through into a room that was entirely white including the door.

‘Once I close this door you will move to a holding dimension. You should press the button of a dimension that you wish to visit. The door will not openable before you choose, or before everyone is accustomed to the colour that you are visiting.

Once the door closed coloured buttons appeared, and someone in the group pressed the correct colour. The Colour fanned out from the button, and the other buttons faded. They then waited as the colour slowly drained to white. The door opened.

P.S. So, who do you want to see me attempt first? White and Purple are not options, not because they aren't finished, they all are, but because reasons that will become apparent. I don't think the order of the different worlds matter, if no-one chooses any I'll props just go with the order above. also three are short, so i might bundle them together, i might beef them out ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's fine, I just do terrible things to my favourite two, and a random third because it felt like that was a good way to show something....
