Sort of late, I think? Here's the prompt: "Person A suddenly obtains super powers, wants to keep it a secret from everyone"

Okay, I kind of cheat here, lol. Hope you enjoy it anyways.

(AN: This takes place on the current server, but in atypical “everyone lives in it as their personas”. Blame still has his old Deceiver skin instead of his current Punisher skin)

“It was a stupid fucking mistake.” Blame berated himself as he paced the enormous throne room of the Pillars of Nosgoth, his steps echoing throughout the large hall. He stopped by his makeshift bed near the entrance of the room, surrounded by supply chests that acted as temporary walls for his sleeping area. Sighing loudly, he sat down on his bed, the mattress creaking under the new weight.

He made another attempt to rip off the golden amulet that he pinned to his robe, which also held his cape down, but to no avail. The cursed amulet still stuck fast to his clothes, but even if he were to remove his robes, he wasn’t sure if the hex would reverse itself so easily. Or even if he would ever be human again. Blame looked down at his ungloved hands, skeletal fingers that used to be familiar mortal hands. He wasn’t sure how they could move and function without muscles, but they seemed to be held together by the magic that the amulet emulated, which also supported the rest of his skeleton body.

Days earlier, when Blame found the shiny amulet in a chest deep within a jungle temple, he didn’t think much about it as he grabbed it (or hell, why he was even in a jungle temple to begin with). He only considered that he never saw anything like the object, and foolishly, he abandoned his old cape clasp in favor of his new treasure. It had been nearly a week since his transformation, and he was bored and furious.

Blame halted the progress on the Pillars of Nosgoth because he ran out of many supplies during the week, and he didn’t want to risk going out getting more resources in case he ran into somebody around town or in the Nether. Luckily, no one had visited him yet, but he knew that it wouldn’t be long before someone came around. “Fucking hell, I’m screwed.” He muttered, his voice tinged with fury. Blame’s voice, in fact, had a lot more echo and sounded more hiss-like (and he doesn’t know how he’s able to speak with no voice box).
However, during the week, he had discovered many strange things about his new body. First of all, he found out that he didn’t need to eat, drink, or sleep, nor any other vital necessities to survive. Secondly, his new body seemed to be resistant to a lot of damage, as per example when he fell from a great height during the early days of his transformation (before he stopped working on the Pillars of Nosgoth). Regrettably, he felt the pain of the fall, so he had retained the senses of his old body. Blame was also sure that his body would never age, seeing that it was a skeleton, so he was very much immortal and nearly invincible. But even with the good qualities of his new body, Blame felt very self-conscious.

Blame realized that, yes, one member of Mindcrack was a zombie pigman while another was a creeper-robot hybrid. Yet, he used to be human, and now he was...something, a monster probably. He wasn’t sure exactly what he was, because whatever he was, it wasn’t like the usual skeleton mobs that frequented the dark caves underground, nor the Wither skeletons of the Nether. Those skeletons broke easily with a couple of good swings or bow shots. The regular skeletons had pale white bones, and the Wither skeletons had coal black, but Blame’s bones were earth colored, with a rust-like tinge. He was, by far, anything from what was considered normal in this world.

He wasn’t used to feeling this scared. He was the soldier, he was supposed to be powerful and courageous. Instead, he was trapped in his goddamn base because of his fears. He knew rejection and abandonment, but he didn’t want to be cast out by the Mindcrackers, his friends. Hell, they were a family to him (at least, better than any blood relative he’s had). He didn’t want to leave, whether it was by force or his own choice (but even if it was, he didn’t want it to be because of this situation).

With a frustrated groan, he clenched his fists and stood up. He was about to try and walk off the worries and fears plaguing his mind when he heard faint footsteps coming from the hallways. His first thought went to invisibility potions, but he knew he had none. Panic settled in his stomach (or lack of one), and he quickly ran over to one of the supply chests, where his mask and gloves sat on top of it. After hurriedly putting them on and pulling up the neck of his robe to cover most of his spine from peeking out, he still realized that he needed to cover the back of his skull. He briefly considered using his own cape to cover it, but he realized that it would look ridiculously stupid. So he opted to grab his diamond helmet from a nearby chest (thank god he remembered where he put it). He had barely put it on before Aureylian appeared in the entrance of the throne room, several yards away from Blame. She motioned him to walk over to her, a serious look on her face (yet she was trying very hard to hold back a smile).

Blame sighed and slunk over to Aurey, the latter who couldn’t hold back her smile anymore. “Blame! Oh my gosh, it’s been forever since I’ve seen you!”

“Hey Aurey,” Blame crossed his arms, “and it’s only been a week, not forever, but what’s the--”

“Were you hiding in here all this time?” Aurey interrupted, concern flashing across her face, but Blame shook his head (although this was a lie). “No Aurey, I was just busy.” He shrugged, and asked nonchalantly, “So, what’s the issue?”

Aurey looked at Blame before bursting into laughter. “No silly! Unless you think the monthly meeting is an issue?” She snorted, while Blame groaned, having forgotten about the meeting. “Oh fuck, that was today?”

“Dude, it’s like right now, I just came here to grab you!” She teased as she tried to grab Blame’s hand in an attempt to drag him. However, he dodged her hand (in fear that she would feel his skeletal hand through his gloves), and Aurey angrily pouted. Blame shrugged jokingly, and he tugged up the neck of his robe up as the two friends walked side by side to the town hall. They made small talk on the way, with a comment from Aurey about his changed voice, which scared Blame temporarily. He lied about being sick, and she seemed to accept his excuse.

They finally reached the town hall (much to Blame’s dismay), and inside the wonderfully grand building, nearly every Mindcracker (some people were traveling, and Blame wished he was one of them) was squeezed around a temporary table in the middle of the enormous room. Everyone looked up at the approaching Mindcrackers, and Blame nearly died of a mixture of worry and fear, but he only tugged up the neck of his robe higher as he and Aurey sat in some available seats. Blame ended up sitting between Aurey and Pak, the latter who gave Blame a friendly hello. Blame returned the greeting, and raised his hand to rest underneath his chin, but it was really to better hide his spine, if it was visible at this point.

There was a bit of fooling around among the members (to which Blame rolled his non-existent eyes) before the meeting actually began. It was a standard meeting, in which Guude discussed the future plans for the next month, with dispersed arguments that settled scheduling issues or proposals of new ideas. Blame dozed off from the meeting, since he didn’t have anything to contribute that month, and since his worries still grew. He knows, no, he is absolutely sure, that even if everyone were to discover that he turned into a skeleton monster, that they would still accept him like they accepted Zisteau and Doc. But he still had nagging thoughts in his mind, and those fears overshadowed his hopes. Blame was usually a stoic man, and he always kept his feelings in check, but now, he had to admit he was slowly breaking from the inside since his transformation. Or possibly, he’s had these feelings even from his early days, and only now has he had serious thoughts about them (and no wonder, since he had absolutely nobody but his mind for company for the past week).

“...Alright guys, does anyone have anything else to say before we wrap this meeting up?” Guude paused and looked around the room, and Blame swore that Guude momentarily gazed at him for a second more before scanning everyone else. A brief thought flitted in his mind, that he could say something now about his new condition, but he instantly clammed up. Guude looked around one more time, and then he shrugged. “Okay then, this meeting is officially adjourned.” Everyone let out a sigh of relief, and they all began to stand up, some were leaving right away, while others went to talk to each other in small groups or pairs. Blame was one of the people leaving early, he actually had been the first to stand, and was making a beeline for the door when someone called out his name.

Blame froze in temporary shock, but it was enough time for Vechs and Aurey to block Blame’s exit. “Hey-a Blame!” Vechs called out, giving a quick pat to Blame’s back before he had time to react. Immediately, Vechs’ face flashed with curiosity, but it quickly shifted back into its usual evil smirk. Aurey didn’t notice Vechs or the fact that Blame stood upright in intense fear. However, when Blame did suddenly straighten, a part of his neck did expose itself. Blame noticed right away, and he tugged up the neck of his robe quickly while he attempted to walk around Aurey and Vechs, offering a quick apology. Vechs quickly stepped to the side and blocked Blame’s path, nearly colliding with the shorter man. “Blame, buddy, what’s wrong?” he asked, with no hint of emotion in his voice, and that made Blame even more nervous. Meanwhile, Aurey looked at Blame in concern, and then in disbelief upon closer inspection. “Look, I-I just need to leave. Now.” Blame tried to put on a brave face as he stared up at Vechs, when out of the corner of his eye, he saw Aurey cover her mouth in shock. He quickly grew uncomfortable and tried again to sidestep Vechs, but Vechs forcefully stopped him this time, gripping Blame’s arms.

“Blame, calm down.” Vechs said, surprisingly with a lot of maturity. He nudged Aurey with his elbow, and she also quickly calmed down, because her reaction was gaining some glances from the other Mindcrackers. “Calm down, it’s okay. Just, breathe. Calm down. Count down from ten for me, okay?” Vechs carefully suggested, but he still had a firm grip on Blame’s arms in case he bolted for the door. Blame felt uncomfortable that Vechs was gripping him this tightly, but he did as Vechs told him to do. Aurey in the mean time motioned to everyone remaining in the room that it was nothing, because some Mindcrackers were about to head over to Blame and Vechs to see what was up. Aurey also tried to inconspicuously hide Blame behind herself.

Blame relaxed his shoulders and Vechs loosened his grip. “So, uh, do you wanna talk about it?” Vechs commented, and Blame replied, “Preferably, not right here. Maybe...” Blame looked away in thought, but he quickly looked back up at Vechs. “...at one of your guy’s base?” Vechs nodded, and Aurey piped up, “Hey, my place is totally open! You guys just wanna hang out for the night?” Vechs flashed a smile and Blame shrugged his shoulders, but he seemed to be in agreement. “Sure, Aurey.” Blame said as Vechs hooked one of his arms through Blame, and Aurey hooked with his other arm. They walked out of the town hall, where the sunset was bathing the landscape in beautifully rich hues. Blame let out a sigh of relief as he listened to Vechs and Aurey chatter. He should have put his faith into his hopes rather than his fears since the beginning. But many of his fears still lingered; yet, at least he still had his friends. And those same friends would help him build up his bravery, and probably, help him accept his new body. His kickass, awesome body, he had to admit the very least.
