Prompt Swap: Wasabi Challenge!

I got tackytac's prompt: "Hot sauce challenge during a party."
This is a bit different. I pulled it from one of my own personal experiences. (Literally. You could replace the character's names with the names of some of my friends and you would have the story.) Hope you enjoy!
It was the Mindcrack Meetup after Minecon. Guude had made reservations for the group at a Chinese restaurant. The ones where the people cook the food in from of you. Vechs is actually there for comedic purposes. As they were eating, Vechs had an idea. A horrible, terrible, awful idea.
"Hey, Rellykins." He said, his evil smirk hidden underneath a piece of chicken. "This stuff is pretty good, he said, holding up a mysterious substance. "Want to try it?"
"Sure." Aureylian said, foolishly distracted by a conversation Pause and Beef were having. She grabbed the food and popped it into her mouth, Vechs waiting expectantly.
Her reaction did not disappoint.
Her eyes bugged out, her face turned red, and she quickly spit the offending plant out of her mouth. She then took multiple sips of water.
"Hot!" She shouted. "Hothothothothothot." She glared at Vechs over her drinking glass. Vechs snickered.
"Why thank you Aurey!" He said, bowing. The others simply rolled their eyes. "Seriously, though. Wasabi isn't that hot."
"Sir. Rude."
Vechs chuckled. "I can eat it longer than that. In fact," Vechs said, gesturing across the table, "Would anyone like to challenge the wasabi king?"
Nebris stood up. "Wasabi king, huh?" He said, rolling his eyes. "I can eat it longer than you."
Vechs narrowed his eyebrows playfully "Well, then. I guess it's time for a..."
"Wasabi Challenge!"
Vechs and Nebris stood off to one side of the table.
Guude began the countdown, while the others filmed the event with their phones. "3...2...1..."
"Go!"
They both popped the wasabi in their mouths. Vechs' reaction was a more toned down version of Aurey's. Nebris had not facial change.
After about 1 minute, Vechs spit his out. "How..." He asked Nebris, who still remained emotionless.
Nebris grinned, accidentally revealing that between his tongue and the wasabi...
Was a piece of bread.
Sorry it's a bit short. Fun to write though!
