Fear-PakTC
Friday, February 13th, 2015 03:52 pm"There really isn't anything for me to be afraid of." -BTC
Inspired by something BTC said in a stream in response to a question I asked. PakTC because I can't see this working well with my favorite ship (NebTC). Here you go Olivia, your ship. Hopefully I did it justice.

There were lots of things Pakratt admired about BTC. The way he would trudge on in UHC, long after his teammates were dead, never giving up. The quiet mystery he exuded, never sharing his thoughts or personal life. It made Pakratt unbearably curious. He wanted to know more, to know what made BTC tick. It had been a simple question really, but the answer was nothing he expected.
"What are you afraid of?" Pakratt asked as they smoothed out a few things in the nether hub.
"Nothing." BTC answered, plowing through netherrack with a diamond pick.
"Really?" Pakratt stopped placing blocks to face his friend.
"There really isn't anything for me to be afraid of." BTC explained, stopping to eat a steak.
"Wow." Pakratt murmured, eying the masked man, amazed at his ability to eat without removing the mask.
"All enemies can be killed with some planning." BTC continued confidently.
"Yeah, I guess if I was as tough as you, I wouldn't be afraid either." Pakratt spoke quietly.
"Fear is counterproductive. Holds you back."
Pakratt nodded. Maybe BTC was right, being afraid certainly wasn't getting him anywhere. Even so, it didn't quell his fears any.
BTC frowned at Pakratt's somber expression. It wasn't like Pakratt to be serious, the dark haired man was usually jovial in nature.
"Pak?" BTC asked.
"Sorry. I need to get going." Pakratt answered quickly.
"Cya." BTC answered, questions swimming through his head. Had he upset Pakratt somehow?
-
Pakratt had taken BTC's words to heart, though it didn't help. There were plenty of things to be fearful of. Being rejected by BTC topping the list. Pakratt now wondered if BTC thought less of him for being fearful.
"Hey Pak."
Pakratt nearly jumped out of his skin. He immediately recognized the voice, turning to face BTC.
"Yes?"
"I came to see how you were doing. Yesterday you seemed upset."
"Oh. I'll be okay." Pakratt assured.
BTC frowned. Something definitely wasn't right.
"I know you well enough to know something is on your mind."
"I just.. Nevermind." Pakratt looked away. He couldn't face BTC. Not right now. BTC was smart, he would figure out Pakratt's secret. Pakratt watched from the corner of his eye as BTC removed his mask, a rare sight.
"Pak." BTC's voice was gentle, but stern. Pakratt held his breath as BTC cupped his cheek with his hand.
"Look at me." BTC ordered. Pakratt obeyed, though he wasn't sure why.
"Listen to me when I tell you there's nothing to fear." BTC's deep brown eyes stared into his. Pakratt's cheeks reddened in shame. Of all the people to scold him, being reprimanded by BTC was the worst. He nodded slightly, fighting back tears. He wouldn't show his weakness to BTC.
"Because whatever it is you are afraid of.. I'll take care of it." BTC assured.
