It's been a while. In fact it's been so long that I feel like I need to reintroduce this thing for the newer people who may not know what this is.

Hello. I am Isi, and a long time ago in Minecraft version 1.2, I installed a thing called the Mindcrack Mod by SBK that adds the Mindcrack members as passive mobs. I started a new world and documented my adventures through screenshots, which you can find under the "mindcrack mod" tag. Here's an easy link to the first installment, and here's where I finished collecting all the available people and decide to continue playing by building little houses for them mostly based on their actual builds on the server, which is what I'll be doing today.

Last time I played was to build Disney Paris during Minecon. After finishing the castle, I wanted to build an inside area for the Minecon guys to wander around. Here I've left them in a pit behind the castle until I made progress, but that never happened. That's not even what I'm going to work on today. I wasn't excited to build the convention center like I was building the castle, and so lies my first unfinished project. By now I've gotten new ideas for what I want to work on, so we're heading back to my main area.

In the meantime there's still my useless chicken farm with that one lousy chicken who lays eggs that never amount to anyOHMYGOSH that egg just hatched a chick. Finally I have two chickens that I can breed properly, and I can finally be on my way to having an easy food source that doesn't cut into my wheat supply. Yes, with these two chickens, I will rule the world.

But onto the real topic at hand. Ever since I decided to start building things for the guys, there were two obvious choices for what to do with Pakratt. On one hand, TNT is kind of his thing, as well as his special drop in the mod, and he has that huge cannon named Sheryl that he gets kind of adorably giddy over, but that often backfires even for him, and I don't think the world is quite ready for me to start playing with explosives. On the other hand, his skin in this mod is his pondery robes, and that at least sounds much safer to recreate.

The Pondery house isn't terribly big, so I'll be making a one to one replica as closely as I can going off what I can gather from the videos. That already makes this a bigger project than most of the things I've built, but I've got a pretty good idea of the layout from the helpful fly around shot in the intro. Pakratt does use a texture pack in these videos, so there's some amount of guessing as to what everything's made of, as well as some willful substitution. The chair clearly looks like netherbrick, but I actually have yet to enter the nether in this world and don't feel like looking for a fortress, so for now it's stone brick. The patch of floor in front of the chair appears to be endstone, but I'm definitely not going to the end for this project.

In the process of running back and forth between locations getting the things I need, I find that the pink sheep from Kurt's enclosure has escaped. What are you doing out here, pink sheep? How did you even get out?

Unfortunately, as I retrieve some wheat so I can lead it back to Kurt, it falls into my chicken farm. Nice going. I'll have to get Kurt a new pink sheep, because I'd rather not let all my laboriously earned chickens out just trying to get the sheep out.

Around the top of the room in the Pondery house is what I can only guess to be redstone lamps. Using a piece of glowstone I got from Nebris, I was surprised to learn I can in fact make those in 1.2. So I'm going to need a lot more glowstone. But instead of building that nether portal and getting some legit glowstone, I decide the better course of action is committing mass Nebricide. I pull two from the pen and begin breeding them in what was once known as the mosh pit but now functions as a temporary holding cell.

Right after the first breeding.

Meanwhile Pakratt's place is coming along. Still needs a roof though.

Did I mention I'm building it over the breeding pens? That way Pakratt can ponder the meaning(lessness) of life while all of his friends languish in tiny cells just below his feet. There's a metaphor in there somewhere, I'm sure.

The interior is pretty much done as well. There's a few details that are missing at the time of these screenshots, like the tables and of course the redstone lamps around the top of the wall, but it's pretty close.

I needed sandstone for the ceiling, so I took a trip out to the desert and had some sand collapse below me, revealing this precarious little cave. I know what I must do next...

Wheeeee.

It even caused a nice little waterfall. Hee. All right, back to business.

By now I have quite the Nebris population going. Forget the chickens, I'll cheat my way to the top with my army of glowstone thieves. Mwahaha.

After some mining for more redstone and the mass slaughter of all the Nebrises, I'm ready to put the final touches on the Pondery house.

And now it's time once again for us to all stop for a moment of thought-- that this house was built with the blood of Pak's friend and fellow Cobblehater.

And of course, the actual final touch of adding a Pakratt. Quick, say something ambiguously deep!

I used the experience I got from killing Nebrises to enchant my sword so I could continue killing Nebrises. I used that exact enchanting table. It's true. That skull on fire knows his pain.

Also I changed the fire place to brick. I think it's supposed to be brick. Texture packs are confusing.

And that's Pakratt's Pondery! Join us again next time for another dose of enlightenment, and possibly more heartless slaughter. Or maybe the nether. Do you think I should go to the nether? I may have to eventually. There's useful stuff there.

I lost it at 'mass Nebricide' XD But I think Pakratt knows, he looks like he's staring accusingly in each pic. O_o

I love the house.

Today we gather to remember the fallen Nebrisii, those who bravely gave their lives in the pursuit of the honourable sport of glowstone theft and farming. You will not be sadly missed.

Yay update <3

seeing big group shots of nebrises is always so hilarious to me (it's the facial expression, I think, haha)
