A Cold Rooftop

mindcrackloveBeef wakes up one night to find a window of opportunity
------ Beef shivered in his bed, "Why is it so cold?" He thought. Beef dragged the blanket as he got up from his bed.
2:43 am
Beef frowned. He had a meeting with the Mindcrack guys in the morning, and he really couldn't afford to lose anymore sleep than he already had. Grumbling as he walked through the house, he noticed the cold was coming through a crack from Pause's door. He gently pushed it open, and saw nobody was in the bed. Through the corner of his eye, he noticed the window was wide open. Frowning with worry, he climbed out the window, only to sigh with relief as he saw Pause sitting on the roof.
"Hey Pause."
Pause didn't even flinch, being used to Beef's presence.
"Hey Beef."
After a moment, Beef asked, "Mind if I join you?"
Pause gestured to a spot beside him.
"Pause, why are you here? We have a meeting tomorrow morning with the Mindcrack guys."
Pause shook his head. "I couldn't sleep."
Beef nodded. They sat there together in silence, quite comfortable just being in each other's presence. As it got colder into the night, Beef noticed Pause was shivering slightly. He swung half of the blanket over him, and leaving the other half to himself.
Pause smiled slightly. "It's been so long since either of us were just... Together."
Beef nodded. "Yeah. With work and other people, I sorta felt like I was losing you."
Beef looked at Pause. He loved looking at him. His black hair, his clear complexion. Pause really was *itslics* handsome. But that wasn't even the greatest things about him. It was his eyes. He had eyes the colour of coco beans, and as smooth as chocolate. Beef could stare at then for hours and feeling like he's only stared at them for mere seconds.
Pause loves Beef better than he loves himself. His smile, his face, his laugh, his voice, his personality. These were all in the list of why he loves Beef. But the best part about him, were his eyes. Beef had the most magnificent, blue eyes that just glow. If he stared at then long enough, he feels as though he can drown in it.
They both knew each either more than know themselves, but what they didn't know, was that the other man in the relationship wanted to be more than just his best friend.
Beef started to feel a little sleepy, but didn't want to leave Pause alone. He fought back his drowsiness, but lost the battle only to fall asleep on Pause's shoulder.
Pause froze. He looked over a quietly snoring Beef. Something inside him softened. He smiled a small smile. After a moment, Pause had the urge to get some shut-eye as well. Pause laid his head on top of Beef's, and fell asleep almost instantly.
Next morning
"Dammit, where are those guys?"
Guude yelled.
The vast majority of the MindCrack server was in the town hall, about to start the monthly meeting. They couldn't start the meeting without the whole group, and they were missing two vital members; Pause and Beef.
Etho frowned. Sure, he wasn't too surprised Pause was late, but he knew Beef was better than that. It was suspicious knowing the two were roommates. It was even more suspicious having a sneaking suspicion the two liked each other.
The room started to get a bit nervous. Angry Guude was angry.
"I can check their house if you want." Etho offered.
Guude nodded. "Thank you Etho. If you don't mind, hurry. It's like two o'clock. and I have like five videos to record."
Etho laughed. "Will do." And sprinted off to Pause and Beef's place.
Etho bent over, panting. It was a pretty long run from the town hall all the way to Pause and Beef's house, but he didn't mind. Etho enjoyed a challenge. As he approached the household, he just entered, being a regular guest to the house.
"Pause?" The ninja exclaimed. "Beef? Are you here?" Etho sighed. He marched up the stairs, expecting the two still sound asleep in bed.
Etho checked Beef's room, assuming he was still in bed. "Hey sleeping beauty," he joked, "Rise and..." Etho stopped. The bed was empty. Frowning, he walked to Pause's room.
"Pause?" Etho asked, poking his head through the door. "You there?" No one in the bed, but the window was wide open. "Uh oh." Etho whispered, worried something might've napped to his friends. Carefully, he climbed out of the window, feeling the chill of cold air hit him. He looked around, and grinned the widest grin.
In Etho's sights, he saw Pause and Beef lying down together in a blanket. Beef snuggled close to Pause with his arms around his neck, breathing close to him. Pause's arms were snaked around Beef's waist, as if he wanted to protect him from danger. The two had a tiny, yet peaceful smile displayed on their faces.
Etho smiled. He had a long suspicion the couple had a crush on each other, and now they're confirmed. Etho took out his phone, and quickly took a picture of the scene.
The ninja quietly climbed down the roof, and seeing a text from Guude.
"Did you find them?"
Etho laughed, and texted back,
"Can we post-pone the meeting?"
Guude replied almost instantly.
"What in the hell is so great that we would post-pone our meetings?"
Etho quickly sent the picture he took.
"Does this change your mind?"
He could almost Guude laughing from here.
"Almost, but I wanna hear the excuse they give me to why they're late."
Etho grinned. He couldn't disagree with that.
"Will do." He typed, before climbing back up to wake the sleeping lovebirds.
