1. What would you say is to blame for the lack of posts here? Holiday rush, lack of inspiration, or something else?

2. As other games are played, do you find it difficult to write "pure" Mindcrack fics (as in Minecraft based)?

Actually. Have a harder time writing "unpure" mindcrack fics. In other fandoms there are lots of coffee shop aus and the like, and while i would like to write them it's a bit weird trying to adjust a persona into a person.

it was BTC's birthday by the way.

my fics, usually just a form of PWP, are an odd mix of minecraft and real life. usually minecraft for things like paktc, usually a mix for blamepause, usually irl for robthecontroller. and always minecraft for nebtho.

1. I think the lack of posts is probably due to all of the things that you mentioned, and for me, school. I've been kinda busy and frankly, was too lazy and tired all the time to get any proper writing done.

2. I don't know. I don't think I've written enough to judge.

I am here, and am very bad at knowing things! (I need to get onto Youtube more during the week >.>)

I think that some of the stuff with the lack of posts is school coming towards a close for everyone. I know that it's sucked the last couple of weeks trying to do anything but projects and homework and studying.

As for the purity of Mindcrack fics, I can't say I'm good at keeping them pure anyways, since I've always delved into more supernatural concepts for the things I've written, or done things that are IRL like college AUs and stuff. Writing stuff in Minecraft just seems more difficult when I have endless possibilities with other AU options and that.

For the majority, school and the holiday rush. Things can get overwhelming and fast. There's also the fact that other fandoms have popped up and have captured the attentions of others (*coughtwizardscough*) offering younger personalities and fresher, raw-er, uninhibited content that might be lacking because this fandom's grown, is getting old, and maybe a little set in its ways.

Then there's the minority that have... more personal issues to contend with.

That said, community posts like these do help in bringing us back together and remembering our roots. (thanks for picking it up this week, btw, Gigglez.)

Depends on what one's definition of 'pure' is.
'Pure' as in only Mindcrackers? 'Pure' as in purely character interaction (up to and including bedroom shenanigans?) 'Pure' as in set ONLY in Minecraft? 'Pure' as in all of the above (Only Mindcrackers, on the Minecraft server, interacting with each other over coffee?)

... Talk about restrictions. Kehehe.

If it's ONLY keeping the setting in Minecraft alone, that's not a serious problem nor restriction (at least for me, personally) and I have nothing against other settings like Space Engineers or G-Mod (which reminds me that I have an idea for a short story set in 'The Hidden'... muahaha.) I'll actually encourage branching out into other settings just to see people flex their muscles and improve. :3

i really gotta remember my password....

to explain what i meant by pure...
pure mindcrack fanfic to me are fics that explore ships in specific situations with the personas exhibited in the Mindcrack group.

i dont mind au's, but i miss stories set in minecraft.
