The Boulderfist - Chapter 8 - The man
Sunday, November 16th, 2014 06:00 pmPirates! Yay! Fun! I got time to write, so here is more. Have a chocolate chip cookie. Or a cupcake. Maybe a doughnut…?

Vechs woke up in a dark room. His bed was lumpy, unusually so. Aurey should have been up by now, and she always lit a small lamp. So why was it so dark?
“Aurey? Ya there?” He asked. No answer.
“Aurey..!” He asked, a bit louder. Right after he said that, a lamp brightened in the center of the room, which Vechs realized, was most certainly not his own. Sitting next to the lamp, it was him.
“But… You… You’re dead… I-I killed you!” He yelled. The man next to the lamp only smiled.
----------------------------------------
Aurey awoke on her side of the bed, as per usual. She stretched out. She slept longer than she would usually have. She reached over to the other side of the bed, hoping to wrap her arms around Vechs, to wake him up. But the bed was cold. Her arms felt nothing but air and the sheets on the empty bed.
“Vechus? Where are you, silly man!” She giggled, getting up from the bed. She lit the lamp in the room, but there was no one in sight. She stepped out of the room, and noticed an arrow in the wall. What had happened?
“Aur...ey… help…” She heard from down the hall. She ran to the voice, and lowered her lamp.
“Bitsy? Help! Etho, Guude! Someone, help!” She screamed. There was an arrow lodged in his chest, just below where his heart should be.
--------------------------------------
“Ah, but you never killed me. You killed my kin, my brother, to be exact. Amazing what people will do for money.” The man said.
“So you payed your brother to die? You’d kill your own family?” Vechs yelled.
“I told him that it was not dangerous. But I did tell him to order the crew to kill you all, which he should have known would be dangerous. But now, I have you. I will avenge my brothers death. You aren’t a prisoner.” The man said.
“I feel like a prisoner.” Vechs said.
“You’ve been kidnapped, such is true, but there will be no ransom. You will die. Old Man Willakers never leaves survivors.”
