“Vechs! Wake up, or else!” Vechs heard. He had been asleep, and he hadn’t acknoledged the female voice that had been nagging him for, at least, the last half hour.

“Aurey..! It’s like, midnight! Go to sleep!” He moaned, unwilling to get up.

“I want to show you something! Come on!” she urged, before grabbing his arm and yanking him out of the bed.

“Okay! I’m coming.” He said, pulling away from the girl. Once they were above deck, he remembered where they were. Killer rock stretch. He looked across the water, knowing what he would see. It was Aurey’s ship, that had crashed. The crew of The Boulderfist had found her, chained and bleeding, there. Even though, she was smiling. She looked at him, and the smile dropped.

“You don’t know why I wanted you to see this place, do you?” Aurey said to him.

“Not a clue. I’d figure you’d want to forget that place, after what happened there.” He replied.

“I would. I’d want to forget it existed. Leave it and let it fade as I’ve let so many other things. Except for one thing that happened there.” She said. She embraced him, putting her head on his chest, ”I met you in that place.”

As soon as the words left her mouth, Vechs leaned down, and kissed her. He remembered. He remembered finding her, thinking she was dead, watching her nearly die, more than once. Killing the man who had killed both their families. losing his best friends. He remembered their funeral, putting them in the graveyard near Lake ZEL. How could he forget?

“I love you, Aurey. I really love you.” He said, after the kiss broke.

“I love you too.” She replied to him. They stood there, embracing in the moonlight, for what seemed like hours, until Vechs seemed to have to hold up Aurey. Looking down, he realized she was dozing off in his arms. He just picked her up and carried her down to her bed. He went back up on the deck, and sat on the side of the boat. He saw Beef out of the corner of his eye, and looked towards him.

“Ha! You can’t scare...me...:” He said, looking towards a training dummy. Beef was dead. Gone. Never coming back. Ever. He just stared to the sea. Maybe… Maybe it was time to leave the sea. Maybe he never should have gone. He’s lost so many friends. But then he realized who he’d met. Guude, a good friend, and captain. BTC, saved his life multiple times. Aurey, the girl he loves. No, he wasn’t going to leave. But, it wasn’t his choice.
