The Portal Chapter 5

mindcrackloveI'm going to spend more time on this, this time, :) hope its a bit better.
Waking up Vechs gazed around in confusion, wondering where he was, it certainly wasn't his beautiful base. He was in a place with a bridge, lava, ‘wait yes that was it he remembered now, the Portal that's what its called. A place of death and destruction.'
Looking around he saw, Aureylain, Zisteau, and Etho all sleeping in beds near his own. Sitting up he rubbed his eyes, and gazed fondly at Aureylain and Zisteau, both whom held a place in his heart. At that moment he wished for them to live, and for their lives to be complete, and hoping this hell of a place would not destroy their fragile friendship.
Seeing Etho move, turning to look at him. As Etho fixed his head band, Vechs whispered "Do you think we should wake them up?" a playful smile creeping across his face. Etho's eyes light up, understanding immediately what Vechs wanted to do "yes" he answered, creeping around to one side of Zisteau, Vechs going to the other side of Aureylain. They poised their hands over their faces in position, Etho nodded. The sound of slaps, ringing through the air, Etho and Vechs both running back to their beds, attempting to keep their faces straight.
Zisteau jumped up a moment latter, seeing the smiles in Etho and Vech's eyes, he yelled "What the hell! You can't have just woke us up normally, really, I thought better of you Etho, I bet this was your idea Vechs!" As he accused them he turned to glare at them anger the only emotion showed on his face. This, only causing Vechs and Etho to burst out laughing, Zisteau continuing to glare at them, sat down on his bed, his head propped up on his hand.
"Guys!" Shouted Aurey, sitting up and rubbing her face where Vechs had hit her. "You don't slap people to wake them up!"
"Sorry Aurey, but its really funny." Said Vechs giving her a almost believable apologizing look. Aurey snorted and turned around glaring at the wall, she looked like she wanted to punch something, a similar expression crossed Zisteau's face as well.
"ZZzzz..... well now you've had sleep and finished arguing, I can get you on your next task, you see that bridge over there?" They all looked at the bridge, a frail one made of wood planks and rope. "well that is what you have to go across.....zzzZZ"
"It can't be serious, we have to cross that thing!" Yelled Zisteau, pointing to the bridge. "Its over freaking lava! And its made of wood!"
"Come on Zisteau, its only a little lava, we'll be fine!" Said Etho, in an attempt to be positive. He walked up to the bridge, touching it, as he did it swayed dangerously. "We'd better be careful on this, we can't fall." He stated, looking back at the others he grabbed the ropes and stepped onto the first plank. Taking a wobbly step forward he went to the next one. As he continued he started to sweet, the heat of the lava getting to him. He hurried along, finally making it to the other side, after several long antagonizing minutes. "See no problem, you next Vechs." He said and gestured for him to come over.
Vechs released his breath, he felt the bridge sway dangerously as he stepped onto it, and tried not to look down. He slowly made his way across the bridge. Finally getting to the end, relief the only thing he could feel, he sat on the stone and turned to watch the others.
Zisteau had started to make his way across, getting about half way there, when Aureylain got on the bridge and started running. Finally catching up to Zisteau, who had stopped as the bridge swayed beneath his feet. Zisteau turned around and started to yell at her, how stupid could she be, you don't run across a bridge like that its stupid! And many other insults, alike to those. She punched him, you could see it, the anger taking him over, causing him to push Aureylain off the bridge, the momentum tipping the bridge. They fell, screaming their bodies disappearing as they hit the lava.
I feel sad now.
I also hope I did better, spent a longer time making this one then all the others, or I think I did.
