Gravity Hurts- Chapter (1 and) 2
Tuesday, September 16th, 2014 11:22 pmHey all, remember me? So now I need to get back to my old project, and this is it. I posted Chapter 1 to this fic months ago, and have had Chapter 2 typed up for almost as long. Just... Never posted it and completely ignored this site for almost the whole summer. Well, now I'm back and time for HYPE! And after looking, I can't find Chapter 1... Eh you all probably forgot it anyway. Okay, so here's Chapters 1 and 2!
Chapter 1
"Ouch! That hurt!"
"What would you expect, guy? You fell like thirty feet!"
"You think I was tryin' to fall?"
"Maybe."
Guude chuckled, laughing at a joke that Pakratt did not seem to find funny. They had been searching around for the others for a while now, and still no sign of them. Pakratt quickly got up and started drinking another Speed potion, clearly planning to sprint through the forest.
"Wait a second there, guy! Are you sure you're okay to run! I mean you *did* just take quite a fall."
"Yeah, I'll be fine," came the reply, "I still have that Regen on me from earlier.
"Okay, fine. But first, let's think. Where could our friends have gone?"
"I don't know," answered Pak, "but I plan to find MC and Nebris if it kills me."
Guude, seeing the clear determination in Pakratt's eyes, backed off. Soon after, they were running through the heavily wooded area in an effort to find the clearing they had heard about in MC's frantic message.
"I don't get it, it should be right.... Oh, here."
They ran into the open area, staying on guard for anything that could be dangerous or helpful. Finding a hatch on the ground, Pakratt went to open it up. Upon further inspection, it simply would not budge, despite both Pak and Guude's best efforts.
"Come on... OPEN!" yelled Guude as he fell backwards from the hatch.
"Hold on Guude, I have an idea." Pak said, a plan forming.
"You're not gonna use TNT, are you?"
"Oh, yes I am!"
"Great, another thing to make me nervous."
"What *doesn't* make you nervous, Guude?" Pak teased as he was wiring up the Redstone.
"Oh shut up!"
"I only say what is true." replied Pak, continuing to vex Guude.
"Fine, have it your way. Are we ready to blow?" asked the green-shirted searcher.
"Yes, now stand back."
Both stepping away from the rigged TNT, Pakratt hit his lever connected to it.
*hiss*...BOOM!
"There we go! Beautiful!" yelled a very happy Pak over the blast's echoes.
"Sometimes I'm afraid you get too much joy out of that."
"You'd probably be right!"
Guude sighed, stuck with this crazy man. Of all the people to be alone with...
"So, do we wanna look down there, or are we just goin' to sit here all day?"
"Whaddya think, wise guy?" came the annoyed response from Guude.
"Fine, I'll look first *if you insist*."
Pak walked over to the now blown-off hatch's hole and peeked down.
"Nothing but a long drop here"
"Well," began Guude, "we're at the clearing MC described *and* it's a suspicious hatch. There has to be *something* at the bottom of that drop!"
"Well do you want to go first?" Pak offered.
"Nah, I'm good. You can go. I mean you *did* just take a thirty-foot drop earlier."
"Well fine then, see you on the bottom. Just remember, gravity hurts!" yelled Pak right as he jumped into the gaping hole that was left when the hatch gave out.
"Gravity hurts..." Guude thought aloud...
Chapter 2
"Gravity hurts... Who else has said that to me before?" Guude couldn't stop wondering as he walked up to the hole. "Well, here we go, I guess." As Guude jumped down into the hole, he kept his eyes downward in order to see something at the bottom, preferably *before* he hit it.
*clop*
Came the sound of Guude's feet hitting a metal floor. Looking around, he found Pak waiting against a wall for him.
"Well hello again."
"Dang guy, you look like you've been waiting for me forever!"
"No just a minute or so."
"Well you seem incredibly bored," Guude continued.
"Well, I am!" came the energetic answer.
"Alright, now for the million dollar question," Guude began.
Pak cut in, "where *are* we?"
"Exactly."
*beep*
Guude jumped and spun around to see a beeping control panel with various flashing red buttons and switches.
"Better not touch those."
"Why not Pak? Are you afraid of doing something wrong?" Guude asked as he walked over to the panel, still trying to get back at Pak from earlier.
"Well, if 'something wrong' blows us and possibly MC and Nebris up, then yes."
"Oh- oh..." Guude tried to continue the conversation.
"I get it, it's okay. Just... let's not try to touch anything, okay?"
"Suddenly, that sounds like an amazing idea."
Guude let out a nervous laugh, amplified by the small, hard room.
"Come on, let's go and find at least *somebody* in here. Who built this place, anyway?" Guude asked, knocking his fist on the solid iron wall.
"No idea, but it's probably pretty secure in here."
"I would imagine. Somebody sure doesn't like to be bugged..." Guude thought aloud, getting nervous again.
Guude and Pak padded though a long metal hallway, completely devoid of any windows, doors, or other embellishments.
"Seriously, what *is* this place?" Pak asked, getting frustrated at the random metal complex with nothing in it.
"Not sure, but it looks like it took a long time to build, why would anyone abandon this?"
-------
"Oh, abandon? I think you may have it wrong, my dear Guude." Vechs talked to himself as he rolled around the room, making sure that everything was prepared. "I'm still a permanent resident of this complex, and soon, you two will be as well." Vechs let out an evil cackle before stopping himself, focusing back on the task at hand. After checking multiple camera screens, he seemed satisfied enough to reach his hand for the button that would start it all...

Oh that naughty, naughty Vechs. Is this another Super Hostile Map?
Applause. I'll be waiting for more.
