[personal profile] fireredlily posting in [community profile] mindcracklove
Okay, so with all the new changes implemented in Lords of Minecraft, I thought we could use a new info post to help people out.

Most of this information can be found in Rob's new video, but I'm working to compile it all in here for those who just want to skim for the information they need.

Getting Started
Server IP: lords.buffalowizards.com

The first time you log in to the server, 100 gold coins will be added to your inventory. Before you go off on a spending spree, it is highly advised that you spend your first few gold on essential tools that will allow you to complete tasks and earn additional gold. The Lords have granted each of the peasants a weekly allowance of 100 gold, which will automatically be added to your inventory as long as you log in once per week.

Stamina
is represented by the EXP bar. The first time you log in, you will have 100 Stamina. Stamina allows you to undertake tasks such as farming, fishing, or mining, at the cost of a certain amount of Stamina per task. More information on tasks or "professions" can be found in the Earning More Gold section of this post.

The Stamina bar does not replenish on its own, and can only be filled again by drinking Stamina Potions. Peasants are gifted one Stamina Potion each day when they log in, and a single Stamina Potion restores 25 Stamina.

If you were on the Lords of Minecraft server before it moved to the current IP address and have small gold nuggets or rent vouchers, your next step should be to visit the Bank to convert your money or vouchers to the new coins.

Currency

The Lords Welfare Program is the villager you need to see to exchange your small gold nuggets and gold vouchers for new, shiny gold coins and rent vouchers. The current exchange rate is 5 gold coins per 1 small gold nugget.

Currency Exchange is the villager you need to change your gold coins into more condensed forms of currency.
  • 64 gold coins can be turned into 1 gold bar
  • 64 gold bars can be turned into 1 gold diamond
The reverse is also true, so:
  • 1 gold bar can be turned into 64 gold coins
  • 1 gold diamond can be turned into 64 gold bars.

Earning More Gold

The Vendor is the villager you need to visit for your job-related supplies. With the appropriate tools, you can farm, fish or dig for resources, which can then be sold back to the Vendor for gold coins.

Fishing (requires Fishing Rod):

Peasant Fishing Rods can be bought for 5 gold coins. They can be used at any body of water to catch Fish, or, rarely, Swammies. Fish can be sold to the Vendor for 21 gold coins.

Each fish caught will consume 3 Stamina.

Due to people abusing the fishing rods, fishing rods will now lose 25 durability everytime you do something other than catch a fish with it. Unfortunately, this also happens in you miss a fish.

Farming (requires Hoe, Seeds, and Watering Can, as well as a plot with dirt):

Peasant Hoes can be bought for 5 gold coins. 64 Seeds can be bought for 1 gold coin. A Watering Can costs 100 gold. The Watering Can has a small chance of extending the growth effect in a 3x3 area.

To farm, till dirt or grass by right-clicking on the ground with the hoe. Then right-click with the seeds to plant them in the tilled soil. Right-click on the planted seeds with the Watering Can (Lapis) to grow the seeds into wheat. Wheat can be sold to the Vendor in sets of 10, and you can earn 20 2 gold coins per 10 Wheat. Due to an excessive amount of peasant farming, the market has been flooded, dropping the value.

Stamina is not consumed to till the ground or plant seeds. Instead, Stamina is consumed by using the Watering Can. Roughly 1 Stamina is used for every 10 uses of the Watering Can.

Shoveling Sand (requires Shovel, can only be done at the Sand Factory):

Peasant Shovels can be bought for 5 gold coins at General Goods. Shovels are used to dig for gold by right-clicking sand blocks at the Sand Factory in the Pauper District.

To reach the Sand Factory, enter the Pauper District through the Slums portal and follow the road with sand blocks in it.
Right-click on a sand block with the shovel to dig for gold.

Refilling sand as it is dug up requires a button to be pushed. It is considered good manners to tip your button pusher when you have finishing digging.

Renting a Plot

To rent a plot, you will need to buy a Blank Plot Lease from the Real Estate Agent. Plot leases cost 5 gold, and will allow you to rent a vacant plot in any of the districts. Each plot has a predetermined value that you will have to pay before you can build on the plot. Players can only have one plot at a time.

/rent <amount> will enable you to claim the plot you are standing on.

Once a plot is rented, using /rent will show you the total rent due for the month, how much is due per day, and how many days of your rent is currently paid.

/payrent <amount> will pay the designated amount towards your rent.

If you wish to leave your current plot and claim a new one, you can use /abandonplot to leave the current plot. Typing in the command once will trigger a warning message in chat, and repeating the command will abandon your plot.

If you choose to abandon your plot, you will lose access to it, and your inventory will be cleared of any blocks. Due to a change in the gold system, there will be no gold refunded if you choose to abandon your plot.

NOTE: If you are sharing a plot with other peasants and choose to abandon it, plot ownership will be transferred to the remaining plot members. Abandoning a plot with no other members will result in all blocks on the plot being destroyed.

Building Blocks 'n Stuff
This area houses two villagers, General Goods and Building Merchant.

General Goods will sell you the basic essentials that any peasant has access to. These are things like carrots, water, torches, basic wooden tools, doors, chests, etc.

The Building Merchant will only sell you blocks once you have rented a plot, and will only show those blocks available for your district. Building blocks are non-transferrable between players, and can only be moved between shared plot-owners through chests placed on the property.

FAQs

Q: Why is the Swammie Seller gone?
A: Swammies now have a 10% chance to be fished directly from lakes, using the fishing poles available for purchase at Market Square. Catching a Swammie will also result in catching a normal, untreated fish in the same action.

Q: Why can't I sell Swammies to the Vendor?
A: Swammies are still illegal goods, and can only be sold on the Black Market (to other peasants).

Q: What are Swammies, anyway?
A: Swammies are chemically-altered fish, and are commonly classed as a drug in Lords of Minecraft. They are illegal, so be careful not to be caught with them in your inventory in the presence of an officer! Eating a Swammie will result in a temporary burst of speed, screen shaking / player disorientation, and some pretty neat background music. (Not that I've tried any, of course. ;p)

Server Commands:
  • /spawn will take you directly to the Market Square.
  • /home will bring you back to your rented plot.
  • /rent will show how far ahead your rent has been paid, and what your rental amount owed is.
  • /rent <amount> will rent the plot you are standing on.
  • /payrent <amount> will pay the amount you write towards your rental period.
  • /abandonplot will remove your ownership of the plot.
  • /shareplot <playername> will allow your plot to be accessed by another player. This player will gain co-ownership of the plot and be able to build/destroy anything on it, so pick carefully.
  • /stuck will bring you to the nearest roadway if you're stuck in a hole or otherwise trapped.
