Well, it HAS been a while, hasn’t it? Well, I’m here now! Hope you enjoy this!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Paul took a step back, Startled by the three men. The men were clad in black robes, with different runes enscribed on each one.
“What are you doing here? This is royal ground! You shouldn’t be allowed inside the castle!” Paul shouted.
“We are the rightful owners of this castle. We are here to take it back. Also, a royal with magical ability is too powerful.” The men said in unison.
“Necromancers are not the the owners of this castle! They never have been and never will!” Aurey, the queen, yelled.
“That’s where you’re wrong. Now, down to business. Hand over the queen, and we won’t kill you all.” The three said.
“Good luck with that one.” Paul said, unsheathing his sword. Pause and Beef followed suit.
“Oh, you want a fight? No. Make it a chase. We like chases.” They said, their lips curving upward into a creepy smile.
Without another word, Aurey bolted out of the room, closely followed by her friends. They didn’t know why, as usually they wouldn’t have done anything a necromancer said. They ran out of the room without question. They weren’t even sure where they thought they were going to hide, but they ran. Eventually, they found a room. It was a parlor of sorts, like where people would wait for a meeting. The spell broke.
“Why… Did we do what they said?!” Yelled Aurey.
“Calm down. They’ll hear us. It was a persuasion spell.” Paul told the queen, rather calmly.
“So, now what? They are chasing us. We know that. How are we going to escape?” Pause said, pale faced. He didn’t have high hopes for the escape.
“Aurey, have this. I should have given this to you before, just in case.” Paul said, pulling out a dagger, that glowed strangely when Aurey touched it. “This is the blade of the Queen. It was forged for the first queen, through the fire of a Dragon. It has kept many queens before you safe, and it shall also keep you safe.”
“Didn’t keep my mother very safe.” Aurey mumbled.
“Your mother was holding you. She would have dropped you.”
“Just going to ignore my question, I see.” Pause said, slightly annoyed.
“I stay here. The rest of you run.” Paul said, switching his attention from Aurey.
“No! I won’t leave you!” Aurey yelled, holding onto Paul.
“Sorry, princess. It’s time to go.” He said, beckoning for the other men to help him.
“Come on. He’s got this.” Beef said, pulling her off of him.
“No! Dad! No!” She yelled as she was pulled out of the room.
“I love you, Aurey.” He said to his daughter, as the door began to shut.
“I’m here too.” Beef said, startling him.
“Why aren’t you with the others?!” Paul asked, still in shock. That’s when he heard banging on the door, which Beef had blocked off with a bookshelf that was in the room.
“Beef! No! Don’t leave mee!” It was Pause, begging for Beef to come back out.
“Sorry Pause. Go. Now.” Beef replied, barely audible on the other side of the door.
“Time… to go, Aurey.” Pause said, trying to act tough, or the queen. Then they ran. They ran for a long time, until they couldn’t run anymore. They ended up squeezing into a large closet, attempting to hide from the Necromancers.
Then they heard the screams.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Welp. That was slightly creepier than I thought. Not sure how I feel about that.
