Saladcrack: Your Opinion

I feel like we need to have this discussuion.

What's your honest opinion on Saladcrack? Don't lie, that won't help anything. Just post your opinion and do so in a respectful manner.

I guess I'll start:

I don't like it, but I don't mind it. Those stories I usually ignore with only one saladcrack being the exception and that was written a while back.

What I don't like is when it's the only thing on here. Now whether that means more Mindcrack fics or less saladcrack I don't know. I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing.

I don't mind it either way, but there is quite a lot of it right now. Probably too much, to be honest. (Sorry. I think I kinda made this explosion happen...)

I think that it's cool and all that, and I have written submissions, but there is a lot of it going on, and I've seen not a lot of actually mindcrack fics going on. We should try to focus less on saladcrack and more on mindcrack.

Granted, I haven't been on here very long. These are just thoughts and observations.

While it may not be my favorite thing (as often times, being rather new, it is hard to understand the ships and jokes that go on around here from ages ago) I don't really mind it. Yes, there is quite a bit right now, but I'm sure there will also be times when there is little saladcrack to be found, so it's just something that's going to happen. But I've seen plenty of things non-saladcrack as well (though that may be because I'm still combing back through and reading things from six months ago, so it just seems like a larger amount)

They are good for a side-quest-esque thingy, but I never knew that these types of fic can change people upside down.
And to be honest, I am ok with group collabs and all that but i do agree it gets kind of too much.

It's cool, sure, but there is WAY too much of it. I miss the Mindcrack fanfics. Salad interaction and integration is cool, but there's so much of it, its drowning out the non-saladcrack ones.

But it's better to be more on Mindcrack fics than just salad..
I mean.. Salad X mindcrack Crossovers are good too.

Well, I (feel guilty for doing one) did a Saladcrack thing because I needed more characters. But I also have three non-Saladcrack things, so yup. It's fine to have a mix.

I mean, it was cool at first, but now I think it's getting to be a bit excessive. Sure, it's cool to think about us with the Mi dceackers in a fic, but this is the MINDCRACKlove community, not the mindcrack-with-fans-love one. I was fine with it at first, but when all there is is sign-up sheet, sign-up sheet, saladcrack, sign-up sheet...

And in all reality here, I'm missing me some pure Mindcrack fics :P

I believe that we need a separate DW. Which Sollux said he's doing. They're a fine idea and all. But we really shouldn't spam here with them it's not the place. (Dang Ratt sounded mean there.)

No, you're right. This is Mindcracklove not Saladlove and while the saladcrack is tolerable, there really isn't much reason as to why the fics that don't contain mindcrackers at all belong here.

coming back to put my honest opinion.

it's one of the reasons i left the salad as a community. i feel that, as a community (even if it's well written), it drags us down.

plus there's far too much of it. and it's not mindcrack related really, especially if it's pure saladcrack.

Honestly? I refuse to read any of it because I feel its all that's ever here these days and it annoys me. That's about it. I'm glad there's now a place for it, hopefully we can get back to the main Mindcrack things now and not be flooded with Saladcrack and nothing else.
