Bein' Friends

This is a songfic type thing, but the whole story is a reference. 'Lyrics' are in parenthesis. Anyways, enjoy these ficlet type things!

Vechs had finally finished laying out the area for his new garden when Aureylian came along. 

"Hi Vechs. What are you doing?" 

"I'm making a garden for Davion Keep. Want to join in?"

"Sure! I would love to!"

And so the two spent the rest of the day planting flowers, making jokes, and laughing.

It was raining the night Vechs sat on the steps of his half-finished Davion Keep, staring blankly into the rain. Aureylian noticed the soaking Vechs and went over to him. 

"Hi Vechs!" She said enthusiathsically.  When she received no response, she sat down next to him.  "What's wrong, Vechs?" 

Vechs didn't even agnoledge her.  

"Oh, come on, Vechy" She said in her best Pokémon voice. "Please tell me what's wrong?  Please?"

Vechs suddenly turned to Aureylian and hugged her tightly.  Aureylian blinked, confused, until Vechs whispered in her ear.  "My dad died."

Aureylian continued to comfort Vechs as the rain kept pouring down.

Aureylian was mad at the sun. How could it shine so brightly, especially on a day like this?

Contrary to the weather, Aureylian was sitting inside, holding a picture of her sister. She refused to cry. Her sister had hated when people cried and...  

There was a knock at the door. 

Aureylian knew immediately it was Vechs. She was always outside on days like this. She was supposed to be working on the adorabolical shop with Vechs. 

"Rel rel? Are you in there?"

"No."

She could practically see Vechs' smile. "Are you sure?"

"Yes. Go away." The last word was cut off slightly by a small sob.  Aureylian cursed herself. Now Vechs would know something was wrong. She wanted to be sad in peace. 

"Aureylian? Are you OK?"

"Yes. I'm fine. I'm perfectly, 100%, completely..."

Vechs opened the door to find a crying Aureylian on the floor holding a picture frame. He immediately ran over to her and hugged her.   "What's wrong?" 

Aureylian didn't answer. Instead, she just rested her head on Vechs' shoulder and cried.

"Achoo!"

Aureylian sneezed loudly.  She needed a Kleenex, but they were all the way over on the coffee table...

There was a knock on the door. "Relly?" 

"Come in." She replied with a stuffy nose. 

Vechs came in to see Aureylian on the couch reaching for a box of Kleenex that was just out of arms reach. With a good-natured roll of his eyes, he went over and slid the box over into her awaiting hand. "Thanks."

"No problem." Vechs said. "You want some soup?"

"No tanks. I can't eat a bite."

"Well, I brought some movies. Want to watch some?"  

"Sure!  I would love to!"

After they had watched well into the movie, Aureylain spoke up. 

"Thanks for doing this all for me Vechs."

"No problem." He smiled. "You can always rely on me!"

"Thanks for that."


(I'll be there some way, somehow.)


Aureylain was surrounded by mobs again. Why had she ever agreed to play this?

"I didn't sign up for this!" Aureylain shouted to Vechs. 

"Yes you did. I warned you about waking up. Now you're paying the price for not listening to me."

Aureylain grumbled, but she knew it was true. Suddenly, a creeper had snuck up behind her without her noticing, it's hissing covered up by the sound of her sword breaking.  Vechs immediately noticed and sprinted over, plunging his sword into the creeper before it had the chance to explode. 

Aureylain blinked a few times in shock. "Thanks."

"No problem!" Vechs smiled. "After all...

Thanks! Yea, I noticed that too. But bit kind of put you in a sad mood only to bring you into a happy mood again. I liked the way it turned out, and I'm glad you did too!

You know what? This really brightened my mood. I cried as a read the first parts (I was in a sad mood in the first place) and then it just jumped into another little story, and suddenly I realized my eyes are dry and I feel better somehow. So thanks :)

Thanks! My laptop died before my 14 HOUR CAR RIDE OF DEATH, so that was one reason why I was disappointed. However, I'll still be writing thanks to an IPad!
