Mario Kart--Mini Fic

This literally JUST popped into my head. So. Yeah.

It gets awful quiet 'round here during Prompt Swap. That sucks.

Note: The game they're playing is Mario Kart Double Dash. I haven't played the newer ones, so I don't have to knowledge to talk about them correctly.


Vechs turned the corner, still in first. He might actually win this time.

Of course, that's when Seth chose to throw the Blue Shell. It's wings propelled it up into the sky, bringing it down behind Vechs and Aurey's kart just long enough for Aurey to yell: "Hey Vechs. We lost!" before it rammed the rear bumper, exploding on contact.

Vechs threw down the controller. Well, more of a toss really. "Dang it, Seth, how do you keep winning?"

"Yeah!" Aurey chimed in, setting her controller down on the coffee table in front of her.

Seth looked up, seeming confused. "I'm not-a Seth Bling. It's-a me! Mario!" He then proceeded to run--jump actually--to the door.

Just as he got to the door, Seth opened it coming in from the outside. "What the?!" He yelled as Mario pushed past him.

Vechs just laughed. "Hey, Seth? Change your outfit."

Edit: Wie kommt es, dass, wenn ich eine Geschichte schreiben, die nicht dazu gedacht ist, um gut sein, die Menschen lieben es? (How is it that when I write a story that's not meant to be any good, people love it?)(yay google translate!)

That was GENIUS. I love it. I'm actually almost done with a doc right now, so you can read that. So THAT'S why it's so quiet! I wondered about that.

It was something nice to read while taking a break from unlocking stuff in Mario Kart 8. My brother and I were getting frustrated, I took a break he's still at it.

It is about 10 pm here. I should hook up my GameCube again and play some double dash. It is one of the best Mario Karts out there.

I personally think it's the best. I hate trying to drive on the one for the Wii, and haven't tried any of the others. Well, I did play one on the 3DS, but didn't like that either.

Double Dash was just so awesome. I love being the guy on the back in multiplayer. Especially since my brother hate it when I try to punch people. I do it just to throw him off, because he's too good at that game. :D

At least you and your brother get along good enough that you can be on the same kart as him.

It is all competitive between my brother and me. We even play completely different classes. I play super light on a bike, and he prefers the heavier characters in a kart.

Yeah. True.

I never really think about what Kart i'm using, or what characters. I just go with whatever I feel like. Usually light though. Hmm. Maybe it goes through my subconscious.

Shush, Brain. Now is not the time for deep thinking.

I normally end up being Luigi and Baby Luigi or Baby Mario/Luigi in Double Dash. So far in MK8 I have only been Baby Luigi.

I can't remember who I play... I think I usually do Baby Mario/Luigi and the red koopa in a bullet bill kart.

I need to play that game again.

I don't remember what kart I used in double dash, since they added motorcycles, I mostly use them.

The couple times I played the Wii version, I think I did too.

I am the odd person out with my friends. They all play karts because "that's what we learned to play as." We argue about that a decent amount when we are playing Mario Kart. God I am making myself feel old.

I know that feel. And I would probably end up playing kart for the same reasons.

I played like 8 races, now I am taking a break again.

We are trying to get stars on all the Grand Prix. To get a star you have to beat it perfectly. All in the name of unlocking more kart parts.

That sounds. Fun?.

It is when we are playing two player. We try not to mess with each other up but it happens and then we restart, along with much cussing at the game.
It also leads to a lot of fun moments like me and him holding first and second for almost the whole race. Our play styles are different so we end up bumping into each other, which ends up with me pretty much being thrown off the course and having to fight my way back up in placing.

Or if one of us is taking a break and the other is playing solo, when we switch off the person taking a break will play amazing and get the stars.

That actually makes sense. I've played games where they tell you to take a break every so often. And it actually helps.

Like, it served no purpose in this one. It could've just been Vechs and Seth (and Mario) and work just fine. Why did I put Veylian in this?

To be honest, part of the inspiration for this came from a picture I saw where Mario and Luigi were playing Super Smash Bros and Mario played as Luigi and vice versa. And Mario won, so the only time Luigi win anything was when Mario was playing as him and I am not doing this picture justice.
