mindcracklove | Warlords Chapter 6: Camp

So it's been all dolled up with prettiness thanks to r7. :D This one's rather short compared to the others. It's lacking in action. Too much of a good thing makes it stale, right? Well enjoy it. :)

It was late back at the camp. Pyro had eagerly awaited for Beef to finish up in the cook's tent.

"Is it done? Can I have it? Please?" Pyro asked, practically bouncing.

"Yes Pyro, your ramen is ready." Beef replied, passed him a bowl and a pair of chopsticks, "Chicken slices and spiced to perfection." Beef smiled. Pyro soon reciproced. With a small bite, his smile grew to a bright grin. He started to scarf down the rest.

Beef patted Pyro's head as he passed by and left him to enjoy his ramen. He went to find BTC, searching in the quieter part of the camp. To his surprise, a new tent had been erected on the edge of the camp. It looked big, probably the size of the cook's tent. He grew curious and poked his head in. To Beef’s surprise, the tent was packed full of soldiers. BTC noticed Beef looking around and went back to him.

"So...what do you think?" BTC asked, motioned to the soldiers.

"What is all this? How did you get all this together?" Beef replied, looking lost.

"It's our new temple. That priest we saved found us, wanted a new temple and the men need faith so...we just gave him a big tent. The men were drawn to it immediately. I guess faith is powerful." BTC said, impressed.

Beef just shrugged and left, he never was one for religion. He went to find Pause, as they hadn't talked in a while. He went to the training grounds where Pause tended to be, as Beef had thought, he found him, training the men with bows. He took a seat and watched as aims became steadier and the speed picked up. Pause eventually noticed him and came over.

"Heya Beef! How's it going?" Pause asked, seeming excited.

"It's going great Pause! I think BTC found religion and Pyro has ramen. Etho finally found someone he can talk tactics with. Everyone seems to have something now." Beef said, giving off a soft smile.

"Except you Beef. Yeah, sure, you cook and nurse and all, but is that something you want to do? Really? Something you enjoy?" Pause asked, prodding his friend, looking for answers.

"Of course this is something I want! Just...don't question it Pause." Beef replied irritably, and started to get up. He gave Pause a glare and started to walk off.

Pause grew quiet, "I hope you find what you're looking for."
