Power Down Chapter 3: Into the Wilderness

The trio walked through the oak wood forest. Slowly, the wood turned into dark oak wood, and the canopy became thicker. They had reached the Deep Woods.
"So, these are the Deep Woods, huh?" Vechs asked Paul. "Has anyone gone out this far?"
"Not for a long time. I don't think anyone lives here. The forest used to be infested with monsters."
"Of course it was. Surely we won't meet any in the trek."
"Dang it Vechs, you've doomed us all." Aureylian said with a smirk. "They can hear you, you know."
"So they've just been waiting for me to say that?"
"Yes. And now they'll come out."
"I'm being serious guys." Paul said. "We have to watch our backs."
"We know, we know." Vechs and Aureylian turned towards each other and laughed. Paul simply chuckled and rolled his eyes good naturedly as they continued through the forest.
After a little while, the forest began to get a little darker.
"Night's falling." Paul said. "Should we camp?"
"We'll go on for a little while." Vechs said. "We should cover as much ground as we can before night. Plus, this ground is a bit rocky."
Paul laughed. "Going to have to get used to it. We'll probably be camping quite bit."
After a little bit of walking they came across a clearing in the forest.
"We'll set up camp here." Paul said as he took off his hat and pulled a tent out of it.
"Your hat is a shrink bag?" Aureylian asked.
"Yes."
"Mine's a toolbelt." Vechs chimed in.
"Oh. I was wondering why you were wearing that."
Deciding not to take offense, Vechs began to set up his own tent, with Aureylian following suit.
Once the tents were set up, Paul started a fire with some of the wood.
"The wood's too wet." Paul said after a few attempts. "Vechs, go grab some dry firewood."
"I'll come too!"
Vechs shrugged as he went into the forest, with Aureylian following.
A/N: That seems like a good place to end off the chapter. Anyways, I have some inspiration for the next chapter, so it should be coming sooner. Anyways, see you next time!
