Etho's Dream

So, I posting this from my phone, so if I screw the cuts up... I'll try to fix it.
This popped into my head, and I wrote it in about fifteen minutes. So, it probably sucks :P
If someone wants to turn it into a series if some kind, feel free. I don't have any idea where to take it from here. This was a one-off idea.
As for chapter three of TTTS (To touch the stars), I may or may not get it posted tomorrow. I have a busy day ahead of me.
Etho had finally let go of the dream. It had been almost a year and a half. One and a half years since he dreamt of a land where all blocks floated, where anything was smelted in a stone oven, where every ore was one ingot, where there were only two metals. A land named Mindcrack. Yes. One and a half years since reality set in.
Recently, he'd figured out how to refine iron. He was starting to get a stockpile of iron, and gold, and bisuminite bronze. He'd just spent the entire week terraforming the land around his forge, making it more friendly to traverse. It had been a good month. A good one and a half years.
As he came back inside his "Slabin" as he called it, he waved at Nuggets. "Hey, Nuggets! How ya doing?" He asked, knowing the bird couldn't answer. He went around to check his berry bushes, though he knew it was futile since it was the middle of winter. Then, he went inside.
He did some cooking, throwing together one of his meals that he knew tasted horrible, but was determined to convince himself otherwise. He laid down in his bed while he ate, relaxing as much as he could. It wasn't a comfortable bed. After he had finished his meal, he sat around, planning his next project.
That's when it started. A huge thunderstorm appeared out if the blue--which was a surprise, since he'd gotten good at predicting the weather. He heard several strikes close by, and went to the window to take a look outside.
Four bolts of lightning struck the bridge, not setting it on fire, but something Etho now considered worse
There was a portal on the bridge. One of the Nether portals from the land he'd given up as a dream. The portals they used for fast transportation.
He went outside to investigate. As he walked out of the Slabin, a figure started to materialize in the portal. It looked like a zombie, but different. It had goggles on its head, a device of some sort on its arm--some kind of tablet--and it had a toll belt.
It saw Etho. It turned and spoke. "Please, don't be afraid. Your friends sent me. They need your help."
"Who... Who are you?"
"One of Vechs' minions. A zombineer, you could say. I was in charge of actually building the traps he planned. But, that's not important. Your friends need your help. You have to come with me."
"But, what about all I've worked for here?"
"If you don't come, all of Mindcrack will be destroyed. They are already in trouble. They need YOU to help them. Please. For them."
Etho walked through the portal, worried about his sanity. He was going back into a dream? Waking up from one? He didn't know.

Date: Wednesday, July 23rd, 2014 05:08 am (UTC)But really, it seems like it would be cool to have someone make a thing out of this. I know I totally would if I didn't have like five other writings I'm in the middle of and dealing with real life. Real life is too hard... Oh well. Hope someone else can do it though.
And I like what you've written here. As usual, keep up the good work!
