Note: I am looking for someone to take over this project as well as more people willing to actively contribute to help keep this alive. If you are interested in helping, please contact me.
Master File Jun 2014
Many times, you’d might stumble across a great fic and absolutely love it. Maybe it’s a chapter fic and you’ve got no idea when or where to find the rest of the chapters in the series, maybe you remember the title but scrolling through hundreds of pages of fics is incredibly painful, maybe you just feel like reading fics from a particular author, genre, character, or maybe even you’re just looking for some nice smut to begin the day with.
Finding old fics has always been rather frustrating and annoying, but with the Salad Files Project, doing so is about to get a whole lot easier. The Salad Files Project is the ongoing cataloguing, archiving, and categorisation of all literary works ever posted to the Salad with the purpose of making finding fics a quick and easy task.
(Please note that this release is a bare-bones beta release and while it is still very much functional and helpful, there is definitely more to come in terms of categorisation and other little secret extras that are currently being planned.)
How It Works
It's pretty intuitive, but if you have any questions beyond what's given below, be sure to ask in the comments.
-The main list of fics is in the Master List tab at the bottom left of the page.
- It contains 7 columns:
--- Date, listed in chronological order.
--- Link, to the fic on DW.
--- Title, as supplied by the author or guessed as such.
--- Author, the main author of the fic or person who authored that particular chapter.
--- Series Tag, in format [xxx] or [Xx].
--- Grouping Tag, in variations of [zz]. Used to mark certain fic features such as NSFW.
--- Special, used to note trigger warnings or other special details.
- Scroll through the list manually or on windows use ctrl+f to search the table for what you're after.
- Genres and Grouping Tags is the second tab and it lists genres, descriptions of those genres, grouping tags, and descriptions of what they mean.
- Series Tags lists all the series' on salad. It has 7 columns:
--- Date Started, the date the first part of that series was posted on DW. Listed in dd/mm/yyyy format.
--- Parts, the number of chapters / parts posted in that series.
--- Link, a link to a list of all chapters/parts in that series.
--- Tag, the series tag used to mark that series in the Master List.
--- Main Author, of the series.
--- Blurb, a short description of that series, like on the back of a book.
- Character and Pairings Tags A lists all the Mindcrackers' character tags and pairings.
- The far left row lists their character tags and the second row lists the Mindcracker. The top row also lists the Mindcrackers' names.
- The table shows the pairing tags between those Mindcrackers. Like reading a map, follow the names of two people; one from the side and one from the top to the point where they intersect.
- Character and Pairings Tags B lists non-Mindcracker character tags, non-Mindcracker ships, and any ship containing more than 2 people (e.g. threesomes).
- Ctrl+F on Windows can be used at any time on any sheet to search for something.
- Click view in the toolbar at the top, then list for a different view. Use this to order the tables by different things such as by Author A-Z rather than date. Click the heading of the column to do so. (Works best on Master List and Series Tags.)
- You can also use this view to only display things with certain criteria such as only fics with the [nsfw] grouping tag. Click the drop-down box above the column then select one of the options in there to do so.
Each month, a new release shall be posted with an updated list including all the fics from the month before.
A special thankyou to the Salad Files Project team for helping put this together and providing their ongoing dedication to keeping this project alive.
If you have any questions feel free to comment below or send me a PM and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Date: Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014 07:52 am (UTC)The story "The End" I think has been mis-labeled, seeing as most of the chapters are under a new name and (I believe) the original(s) have been renamed. My request is that the group tag is replace with something that is more applicable to the new name, and (if necessary)the names of the old ones are corrected.
