The suspense is over!

I am so SO sorry that this is late! I am on my school holidays so I have been ultra-busy.

“I don’t understand… you were dead and now… and now you are here.”

“I’m still dead.” Vechs looks at me through his glasses.

I take a step forward, he looks alive. As a go to touch him, Vechs walks back shaking his head.

“No Rel Rel. You shouldn’t be here.” He takes another step back.

“But I don’t understand-“ A groan from the other side of the basement cuts me off.

“You need to go Aurey.” Another noise, this time closer. “You need to go now!”

I hesitate. I look at Vechs, his eyes are warning me not to come any closer.

“Your boyfriend is right.” I look behind Vechs to see a body, not recognisable like Vechs, just a pale outline. I stumble backwards, and turn. And run.

The basement is so dark, I just hope that I am going in the right direction.

“Nebris…” I say Nebris goes to drink the invisibility potion that we were told not to touch.

“Etho…” He says as he puts the potion to his lips. Nebris lifts the bottle and then all I see is floating clothes.

Nebris throws off his clothing and drops the bottle. I stand still for a few seconds before Nebris lifts me up.

“Uh Nebris… You’re naked, remember?” Part of my body rests against his bare chest.

“So?”

“Well…”

“Don’t you like the idea of me naked?” Nebris teases, a grin detectable in his voice.

“I… ah… Well…” I blush because now I am thinking of Nebris naked.

“Ok, I’ll put you down.” He lowers me to the ground. I can still feel his arm around my shoulder and his breath on my neck. Nebris’ breath sends shivers down my spine. I can feel his breath move to my cheek. And then I feel his lips lightly press on my cheek.

It feels as if all the air has sucked from the room. My heart is beating so fast that I think it might burst. I just stand there, tense, not daring to move. His lips stay on my cheek for only a few seconds but it feels like a lifetime.

“I ah… better go.” Nebris puts his clothes back on and leaves the room.

That was the most awkward thing that I have ever done.

Stupid Nebris. Stupid, stupid, stupid! What the hell went through my mind and told me to do that? I like Etho and all but I don’t think he would appreciate me kissing him.

I sigh and rub my face with my hands. Etho is so innocent and cute; no wonder why I am attracted to him. Ever since I kissed his cheek I have been thinking of him.

It’s too late now to take it back.

The lord paces back and forth. His squire watching him.

“What are we going to do, my Lord?”

“We can’t risk the others finding out. That means that we have no other option.”

Pyrao raises his eyebrows. “What does that mean?”

“It means that we need to end his life, Pyrao.”

“But-but we can’t do that! He is the most skilled archer here!”

Lord Baj sends a glare to his squire. “Do you think I care? He knows that I had something to do with the other boys death! There is already a chance that he has told his friends.”

“What are we going to do then?”

“Didn’t you hear me the first time? We kill him.”

“Who’s going to kill him?”

Baj lets out a loud laugh. “Oh Pyrao, you are of course.”

“I-I can’t kill anyone! I can barely swing a sword!”

“He shouldn’t have any weapons, and unless he has a friend with him, your job should be easy.”

“When do I do it?” Pyrao can feel his heart beating in his throat.

“Anytime in the next two days, any later and it will be you that will be killed.”

Pyrao nods, his eyes wide. He doesn’t want to kill Pause, but he will have to. Unless he wants to die.

“You can leave now.” Baj ushers Pyrao to the door.

~:<Pyrao>:~

I don’t want to kill him. I don’t want to kill anyone. But I have to, unless I want to fall from a window.

I have only meet Pause once, when I first arrived here. He was nice enough, he was just there to greet me. He can shoot better than anyone else here, and he can pin almost anyone in a fist fight.

I only have two options; 1) Kill Pause by getting the jump on him and surprising him or 2) I run away.

The latter I would rather, but Baj will find me. He can find anyone. All Baj would do is kill me for not being loyal to him. And Pause would then get killed too.

I can’t kill him. Pause would be too skilled in battle; even without a weapon he will kill me. But if I don’t even try…

I sigh. Why can’t Baj just get the guy that killed Vechs to kill Pause? What was his name? Kurt? That was his name.

Whatever happens, Pause will die, and I might not be the one responsible.
