Warlords chapter 4: Butting Heads

mindcrackloveSo I had to write this one, not once, but twice thanks to a very inopportune iPod death. .-. It's maddening, but I got up about an hour early to get this one out. Anyways.
The Xinlíng movement marched on for two weeks. Enlistment rates swelled, the men were receiving excellent training, the men had even begun to diversify in their units. BTC had taken it upon himself to train a select few units with the arts of the assassin. Things were going swimmingly until Chi Bi bridge.
Guude and Etho were leading the march, talking of everything under the sun.
Suddenly a soldier interrupted, "Commander! Scouts report an unknown army blocking the path at the bridge of Chi Bi.
Guude marched on, "We'll keep going. Hopefully they aren't looking to fight."
Etho just sighed as the soldier melded back into the army. This could either go swimmingly, or down the drain.
As they approached the bridge, a much younger man in foreign looking armor approached Guude, "Hello there. My name is Squire Pyro. You are trespassing on the land of Lord Baj. Each man must pay the toll of 5 gold pieces to pass." As he was setting the toll, several soldiers, much larger than the little squire.
"No way Guy!" Guude defensively raised his fist, ready to fight.
Etho put an arm in front of Guude. "Diplomacy first Guude."
Guude let off a sigh, "We're the Xinglíng movement. Surely you've heard of us by now. Given the area you call your home, surely you have the same enemies as us."
Pyro smirked a tiny bit, "We knew well in advance you'd be coming. We also know that you appose the Kunán. Unfortunately, we do not share your plight. According to Lord Baj, the Kunán are our allies. Now pay the toll or we will be forced to return you to the royal palace for your crimes against the state."
Etho pulled his arm away from Guude with a sigh, "Go ahead then."
This was all Guude needed. He ran right for Pyro, ready to destroy the obstruction in his path. At the same time, Etho raised his arm in the air. Guude went for the shot straight to the face, when Etho dropped it pointing to the bridge ahead signalling a charge. Guude thought the pipsqueak was done for, until he was no longer in the way of his Boulderfist. He suddenly felt a hard force slam into his back. Pyro was quick enough to slide around Guude and spin kick him in the back.
Pyro looked at Guude, with a smirk, "Boys, handle this traitor."
The large men closed in on Guude as the two armies collided. Pyro ran off through the battle. Etho began to followed but was cut off by the battle closing up the paths.
"Dammit!" Etho yelled as he drew his dagger and ran back to help Guude.
"Did he get away!?" Guude yelled while clobbering one of the thugs.
Beef jumped into the fray while Pause started to fill the thugs with arrows.
"Did who get away?" Beef looked a bit confused as he took another thug down.
They finished the thugs off as Guude let off, "That little Pipsqueak that tried to charge is for crossing the bridge!"
"What?! Lets go!" Beef shouted as he started to pave the way through.
"Is he always so brash?" Guude looked at the other two.
Pause rolled his eyes, "You don't know the half of it."
Etho smiled a little as he walked past Guude, "In some ways, he's a lot like you."
They fought, clearing a path to the main camp of Lord Baj's Highwaymen. They had reduced the army of thugs to little more than bodies at the bridge. When they approached the camp, ready to decimate what's left when Squire Pyro appeared once more.
"I see you made it here without much trouble." Pyro looked at them, hiding his worry behind a smug grin.
"You're nothing but common thieves! Preying on the weak and innocent!" Guude shouted.
Pyro drew two swords and took a defensive stance. Beef took it as a challenge and charged the young opponent. Pyro ducked under the powerful swing and prepared to slash his blade across Beef's back. Guude jumped in, stopping Pyro's attack dead.
"Pause! Etho! Go for the commander!" Guude shouted as Beef and Guude started to team up on Pyro.
"Lord Baj! Run!" Pyro shouted as he pushed the two away.
Baj heard his name and walked out of his tent. To his surprise, his army was gone. A new army had taken its place, but it showed no signs of helping him. He drew his axe but realised he stood no chance. He turned and started to run. Meanwhile, Pyro was fighting a losing battle, they clearly had him outmatched. His speed would only last so long. He decided to give up. He dodged past a powerful slash from Beef's cleaver and dropped his swords.
"I surrender." He dropped to the ground and raised his hands. "Don't worry, I'm not gonna run."
Guude ran after Baj with the other two while Beef sat with Pyro.
Baj started to run into the forest when he was knocked to the ground. He looked up at the obstruction. A masked man stood strong in the way. He spun his head around as the three in pursuit surrounded him.
In an act of desperation he stood and raised his arms in defence, "You're free to go! Just leave me be!"
Etho pushed Baj into Pause, "What? Now that you have no army, we're free to go?"
Pause pushed him over to Guude, "Yeah, where was the warm welcome about an hour ago? Huh?"
Guude pushed him to the masked one, but Baj just bounced off and hit the ground, "And you BTC, where have you been?"
BTC defensively shot back, "I was sneaking around to just end it quickly, but you were efficient as all Hell."
Guude sighed and pulled a rope from his pack, "Come on Baj, you're coming with us."
"What! No! What are you doing!? Where are we going?!" Baj struggled as he was tied up and led back to the camp.
When they got back, they spotted Beef and Pyro.
"Yeah, you're really quick, if it would've been just me, or just Guude, you probably would've gotten us." Beef praised Pyro.
"I had to, if you would've hit me, I would've been a goner!" Pyro spouted trying to play it down.
"Making friends Beef?" Pause walked up amd pushed Baj to the ground.
Pyro looked down at his lord, "You've been lying to our army. They've told me about the crimes of the Kunán. It's a disgrace you'd call them our savours, our allies! No army of good like you've told us would ever do anything so cruel, so unjust!" Pyro adjusted his gaze to Guude, "You're the leader right?"
Guude looked a bit confused, "Yeah, why?"
"Please, allow me to join you. To apologise if nothing else. I want to fight for this good cause. I'm more of a follower than anything, but I'm good at following orders, and I'm loyal. I swear." Pyro was practically begging.
Etho looked over at Guude who had extended his hand to Pyro. "That's a shocker, you're not usually so trusting."
"He proved himself useful and loyal. I'm fine with him joining." Guude shot back.
Etho shrugged and grabbed Baj, "What do we do with him?"
Beef cut him free, "Let him walk. All the way to the palace. They'll let him have what he deserves." He said as he pushed him towards the direction they came from."
The six watched Baj walk off as the army prepared itself for the night.

There's Chapter four, the rewritten chapter (that sounds like a legend), It's considerably longer than the others. I felt that I should make it longer. Now then. Leave all the feedbacks and point out all my mistakes. Please? For me? I'm also still looking for a beta. So there's that.
