A/n: Annnnddd... Here is my story for prompt swap! I guess I'm first this time (not sure if that's a bad thing), but I don't feel like going to sleep and I had inspiration! Either way, here is the story for Simba's prompt!

Etho wiped the sweat off of his brow, finally finished with the new project. He stood from his crouched position and bent backward slightly, as his back had started to hurt from hours of bending over. He stood over the metal body he had created, ready and waiting for a consciousness to be downloaded. He wondered if it could be refitted for human use, but that was a project for later.

As he walked upstairs to get the transfer cord, he wondered what Sethbot would be like. He knew some already, but it would be very different, Sethbot being in a human body and being able to talk. Will he act like his namesake, or will the name not make any sense now? Etho wondered. Having grabbed the cable, he dashed downstairs to Sethbot and the new body, eager to see his work come to fruition.

As he plugged the cable in, he heard the familiar beep! sound of a program being downloaded, along with the slightly increasing download sound. When it finished, Sethbot sat up in his new body, calibrated for a few seconds, then turned to him. Instantly, he began to use his new speech capabilities.

“Why didn't you just instal a speech system?” It asked in it’s robotic voice. With technology as advanced as it was, the voice didn't need to be that way, but Etho had set it only slightly more robotic than a normal human: Both so that it was able to convey tone and be relatable, but at the same time be distinctly belonging to a robot.

“Wh..” Being put on the spot very unexpectedly, it took Etho a moment to respond, but when he did, he gave a very good argument.

“Because there wasn't room. Also, in this form, you can be related to easier by everyone else, and the is extra room in your core circuitry, allowing for more advanced systems, and a more developed personality. Not only that, but with the additional size, there is more room to carry things with, as well as space for new systems, including an anti-net system and a defence one that can rival any human there is.” Etho said, ending on a proud note, as he was really happy with Sethbot’s new arsenal. The days of him being a helpless victim of horrible, horrible Vikings was over.

“Logic sound. Good thinking, Creator.” Sethbot responded immediately. However, now that he had time to think, Etho realized something.

“Wait, how did you know I wanted you to talk?” He said, slightly confused.

“I was listening to you while you worked. I was fully capable of understanding speech before the upgrade.” Sethbot said. “Sidenote: Creator, why do you talk when there is no one to listen, or more specifically, act upon your speech?” Sethbot asked, taking a confused tone. Not expecting such deep questions so quickly, (and the difficult of the question to answer) it took Etho a but to respond.

“I helps me think.” He said simply. “And, honestly, I sort of felt like I was talking to you, it made the work bearable.”

“Odd effects.” Sethbot replied robotically. More robotically than necessary, actually. Etho presumed that Sethbot’s was just a to-the-point personality; and that combined with him being a robot produced the current effect. “In both cases. However, your logic remains sound, taking the effects into account. Well done, Creator.” When Sethbot finished, Etho also noted that Sethbot was also very fond of compliments. He wondered if it was the same with criticism.

Etho wasn't quite sure how he would feel about that, as having constant criticism would probably get annoying, but it also may very well be helpful. Being consistently criticized for not following the boundaries of logic would definitely be annoying, as that wasn't always Etho’s style. In fact, if he wasn't unwilling to give Sethbot up for the world, he might have actually considered giving Sethbot to Nebris, they both loved their efficiency oh-so-much.

“That might not actually be such a bad idea…” Ehto said aloud, to his surprise.

“Creator?” Sethbot questioned. “Are my sensors failing or are your Speech systems malfunctioning?” Well, I guess we can put a definite check on both criticism and in annoying amounts/rigidly-logical. Etho thought to himself as Sethbot spoke.

“I was starting to say something.” Etho clarified. “I was thinking that it might be useful to send you as a spy to the enemy team. Not only could you give us information, but if they began to rely on you, you could inhibit the systems that they used, lowering their ability to act.”

“Interesting.” Sethbot said, and the blue light signalling that he was computing appeared in his eyes. “And possibly effective. How intelligent do you think the victim would be? Effectiveness directly proportional to intelligence and willingness to trust of the target.”

This caused Etho to pause (yet again, he was beginning to notice a trend) to think. If he continued with the original plan and gave the Clone-bot to Nebris, it might work. Etho knew that Nebris was definitely the smartest on the enemy team, but he also trusted Etho. Trusted him enough to not suspect him, even though they were on enemy teams. There were others who would trust him enough, but none of them were on the enemy team, and even if they were, he doubted they would trust him despite the team difference.

This left Etho with a dilemma. Give Clone-bot to Nebris and violate his trust, or give it to another member of the enemy team, and have the plan almost-inevitably fail. As he had quickly thought over the enemy team, he realized that Nebris was the only valid option, bringing him into the current situation.  Most of the enemy team were too smart to fall for it for the plan to be effective, and the few who weren't (and a certain botnapper came to mind) were far too suspicious. In the end, Etho came to a decision.

“Either incredibly intelligent, or unwilling to trust at all.” Etho said simply. The description fit the enemy perfectly, bar Nebris.

“Strategy in-effective with given variables.” Sethbot instantly computed, confirming Etho’s suspicions. “What about Player: “Nebris”? While he seems too intelligent for the plan to work normally, he seems to have an abnormal level of trust for you. At predicted levels of trust, his intelligence may even work to our advantage.” Yet again Sethbot had asked a deep or emotional (or both) question, and expected Etho to provide a logical explanation, or admit to being wrong.

This made Etho really start to wonder if the speech system was a good idea. As he had already realized, it brought both goods and bads in terms of the criticism Sethbot was giving, but being asked to justify his emotions logically made the problem ten times worse. He was actually worried how it would affect him. It might make him either lose his emotions for the most part (due to having logic forced on him constantly) or simply ignore them when it came to decision making. He knew that logic was more efficient, but… efficiency wasn't always a good thing, and definitely not the only thing to consider.

“I don't think that would work…” Etho began, trying to buy himself time to finish his argument, without seeming to take forever to come up with it. “Both because I’m not sure how long it would work for, and I don't want to violate his trust like that. Besides, It took me an entire week to build this body, so we have to take that into consideration.”

“Interesting…” Sethbot began, and the blue light returned. “Logic semi-sound, but intra-human relations must be taken into account. Reasoning understood, Creator.” Etho was very relieved at this development. Even if he didn't understand emotions, at least Sethbot understood the want to keep relationships stable.

“Sethbot?” Etho asked.

“Yes, Creator?” was the simple reply he received.

“I’m tired of deep questions, how about we test your new systems?” Etho asked, but it was more of a command than a question.

As he said it, Sethbot’s chest opened to reveal a furnace along with a variety of other machines; Small Mini-guns sprung from his arms and whirred to life; antenna extended from his head and started twirling; small rockets flared to life in to soles of his feet and lifted off of the ground slightly; a forcefield started to form around him; and a large solar panel began to extend from his back; along with a myriad of other devices activating.

“Yes, Creator.” Sethbot said eagerly.
