Prompt Swap: Interior Design and Other Topics Not Suitable for Nether Fortesses - Pt 1

*having a quiet panic* I kind of had a ton of work last week, but I promise I'm working on your prompt, Ivy. I chose Paul and Aurey going on a Nether adventure. Here's sort of a short prologue. I'll get the rest up as soon as I can.

“Aurey, was there a reason you dragged me to the Nether today?”

“Vechs said you’re getting old so your muscles are turning to mush, and that the only way to fix that is to take you on an adventure! With fire!”

“But,” Paul pleads as she pulls him along, “I’m already doing Inferno Mines, I think that’s enough fire and adventure, don’t you?”

His protest doesn’t even slow Aureylian for a moment, and she continues tugging Paul through tunnels of faintly writhing netherrack. “But you’re not doing that right now, right? C’mon! I found a fortress to explore, there’ll be blazes and ghasts…”

“You know, that doesn’t really encourage me,” but he slips his wrist gently out of her grasp and lengthens his stride to keep pace with her. He glances at Aureylian's face and smiles at the sight of her excited grin, even brighter now that she's not forced to drag her companion. Paul’s newly empty hand brushes over the hilt his sword on every stride. There's no such thing as being too careful in the realm of fire.

At a full sprint, they make it to the fortress in no time at all.

“Paul,” Aureylian says as she skids to a stop, turning to face him. “can I call you Paul? I’m going to live in this fortress. And it’s going to be awesome. Can you imagine how this place will look with some color?”

“We have to clear it out first, so don’t get too ahead of yourself, but I’m sure it’ll look great once you’re done with it.” She reminds Paul a little of Vechs, just someone generally excited by life (albeit, without the oh-so-endearing habit of dropping creepers on unsuspecting adventurers, for which he is infinitely grateful).

“Then let’s get started now!” Aaaaand she’s off.

Paul starts jogging in her direction, calling, “wait up for this ‘old man’, I thought-”

I just remembered that there was this one as well =D
It may be short, but the idea alone has potential. ^^ As someone who's a huge fan of Paul, I am really curious how you are going to write him =D [Especially since he's one of the people with less stories arround here.]
Just the combination of the characters involved in this sounds like it would make for a set up and I'd be more then happy to read whatever you make of this, if/when you should expand on this. ^^

The hope is that I'll eventually finish it. >.> I'm having a bit of writers block after my first idea didn't turn out so well. The second reason is that I... don't really know how to write Paul. XD I need to get a better handle on his personality.
