The mindcrackers find themselves in a game of UHC, except this time, the game is for real. I figured out cuts now wooo!

Chapter 5: Revenge

Anderz counted up the gold he had in his inventory. 14 pieces. A couple more and they would have an extra golden apple in case one of them got into trouble. He handed off the unsmelted gold to Guude to cook. Guude had begun pacing around nervously ever since the Arkas death message had displayed. “Are you okay?” Anderz asked.

“Yeah, well no, but what can you do? Do you think Vechs really killed Arkas?” Guude asked.

“Nah man, Vechs is not really evil. He’d never do something like that. I think Nebris is serious though.” Anderz looked back at the chat log. “I am gonna find a bit more gold then we’ll be outta here.”

Anderz sprinted away, leaving Guude on his own again.

He followed a dark tunnel he hadn’t explored yet. He saw the faint glimmer of gold in the distance, but also the clanking of bones. “FUCK!” Anderz yelled out as the skeleton took a shot at him before he could react. He saw that he had lost two hearts of his own. He quickly swung at the skeleton before it could shoot at him again.

Anderz lit up the tunnel, and mined up the gold. There were four ores there. Anderz debated with himself about trying to find more gold. He didn’t know if it was worth the risk.

Team green were punching at what few oak leaves they could find in the jungle. Zisteau wanted so badly to find an apple so they’d have a golden apple for Kurt. “What do you think happened between Arkas and Vechs?” Beef asked.

“It must’ve been an accident.” Zisteau said.

“Indeed.” Kurt agreed.

“Shhh!” Zisteau suddenly said. He could hear voices in the distance.

“What?” Beef asked, but Zisteau shushed him again, pointing to the plains they could hardly see through the jungle. Team yellow was there, talking loudly among themselves. Beef, Zisteau, and Kurt all shifted and listened in closely.

“Woah c’mon man, slow down.” Millbee called out.

“Nebris this isn’t a good idea.” Etho said.

“Justice.” Nebris hissed out through gritted teeth.

Team green listened as team yellow’s voices grew faint. “Did you see that?” Zisteau whispered. “He had an enchanted diamond sword.”

“But more importantly, they are headed in the wrong direction.” Beef pointed out.

“Indeed. We can get ahead of them now.” Kurt said. “We can try to get an apple later. I’m only a heart down Zisteau.”

Zisteau sighed but had to agree. “Okay, let’s go now.”

“That’s one apple!” BTC called out.

“Sweet!” Avidya said.

Team Pink was finally out of the caves, and had been cutting down oak trees for apples. They only had found enough gold to make one apple during the night. They had been admittedly distracted when Arkas died, but they had decided they just had to push forward. BTC threw the apple to Seth so he could make the golden apple. Seth threw the apple to Avidya who ate it immediately.

“Wow, I feel so much better now that I’m not on half a heart.” Avidya was smiling now.

“Well in any case…” BTC started but stopped mid sentence. On top of a nearby hill he saw Nebris, Etho, and Millbee. “RUN!”

Andrea knocked on the door to the room she and her husband shared. “Alex? I know you are recording, but there is something weird going on.” She didn’t get an answer, so she opened the door quietly and peeked inside.

Pause was sitting in his chair, completely still. He almost looked as if he was asleep, except for a stream of blood that was flowing out of his nose. “ALEX?” Andrea screamed out.

Pyro was still down in the ravine with an anguished Vechs. He had been begging Vechs to come with him, to get out of the ravine, until he heard voices above him. He listened as BTC, Seth, and Avidya talked above them about golden apples. He thought to himself that if this was normal UHC this would be the perfect time to strike, as he looked at their health and saw how low Avidya was. Of course, this was anything but normal UHC.

His thoughts were interrupted when he heard a loud shout above him. “RUN!”

“GO AHEAD. Run you cowards.” Nebris called out.

Pyro gasped out loud. “Vechs we gotta go mate.” Pyro said as quietly as possible.

It wasn’t quiet enough. “Pyro is that you?” Nebris yelled, his voice becoming louder as he approached the ravine.

Pyro looked up, and saw Nebris at the edge of the ravine, looking down on them. “Let’s talk about this Nebris.” Pyro yelled up.

“What is there to talk about? Vechs killed Arkas. Justice must be served.”

“He didn’t do it!” Pyro said.

“Oh, why are you trying to protect him? Did you help him?” Nebris smiled.

“NO! It was the voice, it was telling Arkas to…”

Nebris was ignoring Pyro. “Do you still have that bucket from the mob spawner Millbee?”

“Uh yeah, but is this really such a good idea?” Millbee asked with concern.

In a flash Nebris was in front of Millbee, his diamond sword inches from his neck. “Don’t try to stop me Millbee.”

Etho pulled back on Nebris’s arm. “You are acting crazy man.”

Nebris’s purple eyes narrowed on Etho, and he pointed his sword towards him now. “Justice. Will. Be. Served.”

“Okay man, here take the bucket.” Millbee threw him a bucket.

Nebris found a nearby pond and filled it with water. He poured it down the ravine, and started swimming down.

“Listen to me!” Pyro was panicking now. Vechs was refusing to move. Pyro couldn’t retreat quickly because of the lava behind him. He didn’t know what to do but to try to reason with Nebris. “It wasn’t his fault!”

“Are you going to get in my way?” Nebris sounded slightly crazy.

“Nebris, don’t do this!” Etho called down the ravine. “We shouldn’t be killing each other!”

“Tell that to Vechs!” Nebris screamed. He couldn’t contain his rage anymore. He started sprinting to where Vechs was sitting.

“NO!” Pyro jumped in front of Vechs, and took the brunt of the blow. His hearts were down to half. One more sword blow and he’d be dead. Pyro swung back at him, taking Nebris down a heart. That of course was not enough to stop him. Nebris took another swing. Pyro saw his hearts drop down to zero.

Vechs stood up. “Did you just kill him?” Vechs was still looking down, his voice even and deadpan.

“He was in the way of justice.”

“YOU WANT JUSTICE?” Vechs broke out in a run at Nebris, his sword in hand. He swung wildly at Nebris, trying to do as much harm as possible. It was little use against Nebris’s overpowered sword. Vechs was cut down, Nebris only taking three hearts of damage throughout their battle.

Nebris was breathing heavily, looking down at the lifeless bodies of Vechs and Pyro. Etho and Millbee had made their way down the ravine, and stood a bit apart from Nebris.

Nebris watched as Pyro’s body vanished, followed shortly after by Vechs. He smiled a bit to himself, but that’s when they heard the mysterious voice whispering to them.

“You think that was justice?”

"What?” Nebris yelled.

“Did you know I am the master of this game? I could have changed the death message to say anything I want to. You killed them for no reason.” The voice lied.

“Are you serious?” Etho gasped.

“Why would I lie?” The voice laughed.

“WHY?” Nebris started screaming. “WHAT IS THE POINT OF ALL OF THIS?”

“Everything was too boring. This is much more interesting, do you not agree?”

Nebris fell down to his knees. He started punching the ground in front of him again and again, his eyes half misted over with tears.
