Birthdays :: Mhykol
Thursday, April 17th, 2014 12:32 pmHere we are with another ficlet! They are actually developing plots now, which is good. However, there are a couple of problems. First, I'm going camping tomorrow. Mhykol's birthday is on the 19th of April. I won't have Internet then. So I'm posting this early. You can read it whenever, but yeah, keep that in mind.
Problem two: THIS IS THE LAST OF THE FICS. I am going to write more, but is haven't been able to have an idea for the next one after this, which is in about a week. So yeah. Last fic that's already written as of now. Enjoy!

He'd gotten up super early that day. Today was the day - the day they'd remember him.
Every year, Mhykol tried something different, in the hopes that they'd remember. Each time ended in failure, but Mhykol was determined, if nothing else.
The first year, he had hung around spawn all day, in the hopes someone would come along. They hadn't - spawn had been abandoned for months at that point, and there was nothing of interest there. No reason to return, and so Mhykol was all alone that year, waiting in vain for a friend to show up, to hear his news.
The next year, Mhykol did not touch spawn. He knew it would be empty again - it had barely changed in the past twelve months since he had last tried. He left a sign on the portal though, as a pre-caution - after all, someone might show up. Instead, Mhykol left numerous signs at everyone's bases, with different hints and clues. At least one sign in each base said that the answers would be at Mhykol's own base. No one had shown up - they either didn't notice, didn't care, or had forgotten... again.
This year, though, Mhykol was determined to out-do himself. Grabbing stacks and stacks of coloured wool, Mhykol went to spawn and went wild. They were in a new world, with a new spawn. Everyone returned every now and then this time.
Mhykol placed the wool in intricate places that wouldn't be discovered for months - by design, so people would remember each time they found them. He also placed the wool in obvious places - the middle of pathways, on top of buildings, in doorways. When he was done, the wool was absolutely everywhere!
On many wool blocks, Mhykol had placed signs. This year's messages were more obvious than last year's, saying things like "Mhykol," "Forgotten something?" and "See me for details!" over and over again. It wouldn't be hard to guess who "me" was, considering that the owner of the wool and signs had his name printed absolutely everywhere.
Satisfied with his work, Mhykol went to the Nether, chose one of the hubs at random - yellow, it happened to be - and worked clockwise from the entrance through every portal. Each base was given the same make-over spawn had been given - except for his own, of course.
Having left over wool and signs, Mhykol gave the Nether Hub the same treatment - including each tunnel - until he was certain that everyone would see his message. The only ones who would miss it would be those in the actual Nether, the End, or down in a cave.
Satisfied with his work, Mhykol went to his own base. He surrounded his portal in a cube of wool, and left a message in it. "Today is Mhykol's birthday," the message said. "Have you really missed my hints last year and the year before? Are you really gonna continue to ignore me? Wish me happy birthday, please. It's all I want."
