mindcrackloveSo, chapter 4! Yes, the past two have been short. Don't worry, it's going to get more and more exciting! Started implementing ships. This chapter is more of an explainy sort of chapter (Yes, I know explainy isn't a word). So, yeah.
Guude walked forward, head held high. He may have helped start a fight that had almost killed Nebris, among others, but he still had his pride. Though, it was certainly diminished as he stepped in front of Etho. Etho looked from Guude to Elfy, and sighed.
“What, in the name of Notch, gave you the idea to start up fighting amongst ourselves?” Etho asked, invoking the name of their world’s major god. Guude and Elfy both started talking at the same time, then stopped. Etho pointed at Guude.
“Guude, you first. Then Elfy? Your turn.” Etho frowned, waiting for Guude to start speaking.
“Well, guy, some of us have been getting tired of the Salad’s attitude towards things. They act as if they don’t have any responsibility in here, no, the entire world, man!” Guude stated, as Elfy started to protest.
“Be quiet, Elfy! Wait your turn.” Etho growled, sick of arguing and fighting. Elfy shut herself up, obviously irritated.
“Well, yeah, guy! Most of these Saladers were just… you’know!” Guude enunciated, running out of words. Etho just looked at him and sighed. Then he looked to Elfy.
“Your turn, now.” Etho muttered, waiting.
“Well, the Mindcrackers, for the most part, seemed to think we were slacking off. We’ve been helping at every turn, and quite a few overlook that. They confronted us earlier, and it led to what you saw.” Elfy stated, barely holding in her irritation. Etho looked between the two.
“So… This started because you got irritated with each other? Oh my, I’m in charge of a group of little children.” Etho muttered, giggling despite himself. Guude and Elfy left back to their groups. The two groups started dispersing, and Etho payed close attention. Squid, Becky and Kate had been on the Mindcrack side, and Zisteau, Vechs and, to Etho’s surprise, Genny had been on the Salad side. Suddenly, Etho recognised Nebris’ voice behind him.
“Good job, Etho. Not sure I could have done it so calmly.” Nebris stated, ironically calm. Etho turned.
“So, you’re awake now? Did Doc fix you up?” Etho asked, trying to disguise how much he had worried about the violet-eyed figure. Nebris nodded, as a figure appeared to trip into the two.
“Oh, sorry!” Drama yelled, falling over. Nebris and Etho separated, and, hidden behind a large rock, Purple silently congratulated Drama. Purple had requested for Drama to figure out a way to separate the two.
“Yes! Stay away from my Etho, Nebris!” Purple muttered, vowing to try to keep the two apart. Her good mood was interrupted by a coughing behind her. She turned, and silently cursed. Behind her was standing Guude. He looked guilty.
“Uh, sorry to interrupt you, but I couldn’t help but, you know, read your mind? Good luck keeping those two apart. Lately, they’ve been spending more and more time together.” Guude muttered, walking off. Purple glared at the retreating figure, then turned her mind to ways to keep Nebris and Etho apart.
Tom sat there, nodding his head thoughtfully. Lioness had been explaining her theory.
“So, let me sum this up. You think that we come from a different universe, parallel to our own, where we know of each other? That would explain why everyone seems so familiar… But in what ways could this ‘alternate universe’ differ from our own?” Tom asked, one of the only to actually have the slightest comprehension of what Lioness was talking about.
“Well, this other dimension could differ in several ways. It could be more technologically advanced, we could all be sentient rocks in it… Really, there is an infinite amount of possibilities. But the energies dispersed from when a new person appears are not of this world. Also, you may occasionally get the feeling that something or someone is missing. That might mean they weren’t taken into this dimension.” Lioness responded, surprised that anyone had understood her up to this point. Most of the time, they got major headaches, fell asleep or simply couldn’t comprehend. Tom stood, stretching his legs.
“Well, thanks for the explanation, Lioness. But I better catch some sleep. Night!” Tom smiled, teleporting back to his new house. Lioness sighed, and checked all her doors were locked, then started spirit-walking, intending to find out what was in store for the two villages.
