Feelings Don't Matter ~Chapter 5 + Epilogue

mindcrackloveThis is the end, my friends! I couldn't resist writing an epilogue though! Hope you enjoyed this short series. Without any further delay, here it is! The final chapter..
-Etho-
Vechs walked near him as they searched the forests for the fifth time. Vechs sighed.
"Etho, you know it's a possibility. Don't be so stubborn!" Vechs shouted obviously annoyed. Etho turned towards him.
"He isn't dead!" Etho shouted, enraged. He didn't want to the believe it, but it was the only thing that made since.
"Etho! Stop fighting the truth! Nebris. Is. Gone. Stop wasting your time!" Vechs snapped before continuing, "We have checked everywhere except-" Etho's eyes widened.
"Exactly! I'm so stupid! How did I forget!" Etho shouted to himself before taking off in the direction of The End portal.
-Vechs-
He chased after Etho as fast as he could. Etho was going to make a mistake. Vechs knew he was. He didn't want Etho to get hurt.
"Etho!" Vechs shouted when he saw Etho running towards the small building. Etho spun around, an insane smile on his face. Vechs didn't want to crush the hope that Etho had, but it was near impossible for Nebris to be in The End.
"The possibility he's in there and still alive are near impossible. Don't get your hopes up. We might find him, but he might be dead," Vechs said in a stern tone. Etho's smile stayed on his face, but Vechs saw the hope drain from his eyes.
"Are you coming or not?" Etho shouted as he took off towards the building. Vechs sighed and met him there. He watched as Etho but the last eye-of-ender in place and the portal lit up. Vechs look nervously at Etho.
"Are you sure?" Vechs asked. Etho nodded enthusiastically.
"One," Etho said smiling.
"Two," Vechs said, catching on.
"Three!" Both yelled at once as they dove into the portal.
-Nebris-
Nebris jumped on to Melantha's back and took off when he heard screaming. Getting a higher view point was his first priority. He landed on top of one of the obsidian pillars and saw two men.
-Do you recognize them?- Melantha asked. Nebris shook his head. He didn't remember anything about his past life besides that it existed. He wondered if they were a part of his past life in a way.
-Why are they here?- Melantha asked, being curious as always.
"I don't know but if they try to hurt you in anyway I will kill both of them in a heart beat," Nebris said leaning on Melantha. All he had was Melantha so he naturally was very protective over her. Melantha hummed quietly.
-I'll burn them to a crisp if they touch you-
"I know you will," Nebris said, which was why he hoped the men didn't try anything. Nebris watched as the two men stumbled around.
"Look!" One said pointing towards Nebris' base. Nebris felt his heart stop. Climbing on to Melantha he took off.
"They better hope they don't touch our home," Nebris hissed.
-Yes-
Landing in front of the men wasn't difficult. The two men fell over, one drew his bow.
"If you shoot I'll kill you before the arrow lands!" Nebris threatened. One, who had green goggles over his eyes, gasped. The other, with platinum hair and a mask, jumped up.
"How dare you Nebris! How dare you leave like that and not come back! How dare you make us come after you! Do you know how worried I was? Do you know how depressed Guude was? Do you know the damage you caused to our little community? You caused so many disagreements between Guude and Pause that Pause threatened to leave the community! I didn't sleep more than an hour without waking up and hoping you were back! You're a selfish bastard! Wait, you must already know that because-" The platinum haired man shouted at him but Nebris cut him off.
"Silence! How do you know my name? Who is Guude? Who is Pause? Who are you? Who is he?" Nebris demanded. The platinum haired man starred at him in disbelief. He saw tears forming in the man's eyes.
"Guude is our leader and your closest friend. Pause is a friend to you and a warrior. The man beside me is Vechs, another friend of yours. I'm Etho, and to how I know your name is-" Etho said, struggling to not cry, but at the last part the tears fell. Etho shook his head as if trying to not think about it.
"Nebris, please remember. Please!" Vechs said pleading. Nebris closed his eyes. He was trying, he really was.
"Help me Melantha," He whispered. He felt Melantha digging in his mind, this continued for a few minutes before she suddenly stopped and memories filled Nebris' mind. His eyes fluttered open and saw Etho crying.
"E-Etho?" Nebris asked, his voice shaking. Etho looked up at him. Nebris cleared his throat.
"What's up?" He said with a smile so small he was sure looked stupid.
"Dammit Nebris," Etho said laughing.
-Epilogue-
Leaning against Etho with Melantha on his lap was one of the few things Nebris enjoyed.
Doc had found a way to allow Melantha to shrink to as small as she wanted to without any pain being caused. She often stayed in her smaller form unless Nebris wanted to show off, then she would grow to her full size.
Etho and Nebris were in a relationship that they thought best to keep secret. The only one who knew was Vechs and that was because he had seen them kiss once before. Vechs was only silent because Etho was secretly giving him information about Zisteau. The thought of everyone knowing made Nebris wince. Etho starred at him concerningly.
"Everything alright Nebsy?" Etho asked. Nebris sighed.
"I've told you a million times not to call me that, but yes I'm just fine," Nebris said. Etho seemed to think for a moment.
"I'm still going to call you Nebsy."
"I know."
