Fic: college AU, Chapter 2

He awoke to the sound of his alarm clock ringing loudly in his ear. He slammed down hard on the button, causing his alarm clock to fall off the nightstand. With a groan he threw back the covers, letting his body get used to the winters air. He had forgot to close his window before he went to bed, causing it to become even colder than he had expected it to be. He hastily threw on some clothes and shoved his things into his bag. He walked into class, noticing that he was fashionably late.

"Ah come in Kurt, we were just discussing the architectural history of  the Colosseum." He noticed Tyler looking at him, taking a seat beside him.

"Hey, can you fill me in on what's going on?" He whispered in the general direction of Tyler.

"Yeah, we actually haven't started yet, he just told us the topic. Don't worry, you will pick it up." Tyler said, a hint of excitement in his voice. Kurt took out a pencil and notebook and began to take notes on the subject. The class went as normal, except that after class when he usually walked to his next class accompanied by no one, this time he was joined by Tyler, who silently walked with him to their next class together. Kurt had been mindful of Tyler, trying not to walk too fast. Him and Tyler exchanged worried glances as they were suddenly the only two in the hall. Tyler was the first to break the comfortable silence between the two. “Where is everyone?”

“I think they are either avoiding us, or we are late to class.” stated Kurt picking up his pace, thinking that they were late.

“Yeah, I think we are late…” said Tyler trailing off, thinking about how dreadfully delightful it would be to get detention with Kurt. The pair walked into class side by side, Kurt getting a strange look from John. Kurt sat down next to John, Tyler taking a seat on the other side of him.

“Wait, you know Tyler?” Questioned John.

“Yeah, kind of.” said Kurt a bit confused.

“Oh  because he is a long time friend of mine. I think you should get to know him more, he has a lot of the same interests as you. He also takes his coffee the same way as you! Did you know that?” John said making sure that Tyler -who was currently paying attention to the teacher- wouldn’t hear him.

“Yeah John, I already knew that, he has told me many times before. Did you forget that he works at the coffee shop that I study at?” Said Kurt, a hint of question in his voice.

 

“Oh yeah, I forgot about that. But… anyway you should get to know him more, I have a feeling that you will become good friends.” Said John in a teasing manner. Kurt shrugged and turned back to face the teacher, who was giving him a sideways look, as almost to say ‘stop talking and pay attention’. Class went on as usual, but instead of catching up with him in the hallway as he had previously done, Tyler waited for Kurt to leave the classroom. He had noticed Tyler waiting by the door, chatting with John. He walked out of the classroom, walking slowly enough so that Tyler could catch up. But he was shocked because after walking for about a minute or so, Tyler had still had not caught up with him yet. He slowed down his pace even more so, making his once brisk walk into a slow crawl. He had began to get worried because he had been waiting for Tyler for about 5 minutes now.
