I am back! I was at the beach for 2 days, no internet, no laptop. Couldn't read Salad fics, couldn't write. So it might be a bit slow after this. But I have this chapter, and half of the next already done! This was just because I wanted to practice writing fight scenes. And cause I wanted to show off more of the enderhuman, who is pretty obvious as to his identity. A bit small, too.
"Ok, guys. Remember, we just need to defend until Rob and the Jimmies get here. When that happens, we will drive out these creatures and destroy them!" The enderhuman yelled, making everyone cheerful.
"Hey, what are you better with? A sword or a bow?" Etho asked of the enderhuman, who grinned.
"Let me show you, then." The enderhuman grinned, as Etho passed him a sword and a bow.
"Who do you want to fight?" Etho asked, ever the teacher.
"I'd like to try my hand at defeating you, Etho. That'll be an interesting battle. Also, what are the rules? Only sword, only bow, both, anything goes... What?" The enderhuman asked.
"Let's go with... Anything goes except damage or poison potions." The ninja replied.
"Bad idea, Etho. Let's go!" The enderhuman replied, teleporting away.
Etho looked around for the enderhuman. Where had he gone? Etho heard the soft sound of a footstep behind him, and instinctively turned and raised his sword to parry. The enderhuman's blade was blocked, and battle was joined. Etho hadn't fought many opponents with such speed before. His own speed was offset by the enderhuman's. The two seemed to do nothing as much as do an elaborate dance with blades. Suddenly, the enderhuman dissapeared again. Etho saw the enderhuman appear on the seats of the Arena, where he took out his bow. Etho took out his bow, and the two started exchanging fire. Etho barely dodged out of the way of the enderhuman's first arrow, but he had dodged straight into the enderhuman's second arrow.
"Dang, he knows about deflection." Etho muttered, in pain. The arrow had gone straight into his arm. Etho grimaced and pulled the arrow out, and dodged out of the path of the next arrow. But instead of going to the right, he went left, guessing the enderhuman would assume he would dodge to his master side. An arrow flew straight into where he would've been if he had moved right. Etho shot an arrow in the enderhuman's direction. A shouted cry of pain answered the question of if it had hit. Suddenly, a voice sounded behind the ninja. "Now, we finish this."
Etho instinctively rolled forwards and turned, bringing his sword up to parry. One more, they exchanged blows as if dancing. A slice was greeted with a parry, but the enderhuman seemed to be slowing down. Finally, Etho managed to disarm the enderhuman.
"You lost, so it seems. Surrender!" Etho stated, exhausted. The enderhuman stared at him, and started to laugh.
"You think you've won, have you? Good luck!" He said, disappearing. Etho turned to where the enderhuman's sword had been thrown, and saw the enderhuman pick it up. The enderhuman charged at the ninja, and Etho realised that his opponent had been faking tiredness. Etho was exhausted, but the enderhuman was just as quick as at first. Suddenly, Etho's sword was knocked out of his hands, and a sword at his throat.
"Good fight, Etho. But you need to get used to ender powers." The enderhuman grinned, moving the sword away and shaking the ninja's hands. The enderhuman sighed, and placed down a chair. Sitting down on it, he remarked,
"Wow, that was tiring. Too much teleporting, and just sheer speed. I could barely keep up my speed at the end." He sighed, and grinned guiltfully at Etho.
"So, what did you ask me before the battle? I forgot." He questioned of the ninja.
"It was if you were better with a bow or a sword." Etho responded, unsure of what the answer would be.
"Honestly, normally, I'd answer the bow, but now? I've been practising, so I think they're even. But I am a good fighter. I managed to defeat the mighty, overpowered Etho! It was the most difficult fight I'd ever been in. I was not surprised at all." The enderhuman responded, obviously tired. Etho nodded.
"You can keep that sword and bow. They are overpowered. I had three identical sets of weapons, from Nebris. I didn't question where they came from, but I don't think he got them the hard way." Etho mentioned, ready to relax. The enderhuman grinned, and nodded, then stood up.
"I'm going to go find the Saladers. I have some things I want to discuss with them." The enderhuman told Etho, then walked off. Etho wondered just who was this mysterious 'enderhuman'? He obviously knew the Saladers, and he was powerful. There was more to him than it seemed. Etho stood up, going to his tent. He needed rest, after that battle.
