mindcrackloveDecided to do this since I spent much of today grinding the guys. One gym and several updates...

First of all, while grinding our favourite guys up, we found some new areas and new areas mean new catches!
From the Castelia Sewers, we have Baj, the male Grimer! Poison type, level 17, Relaxed nature, mischievous. His Ability is Sticky Hold which prevents pokemon stealing his items.
From Relic Passage (accessed via the sewers), we have Nebris, the male Drilbur! Ground type, level 19, Naive nature, scatters things often. Ability: Sand ush, the same as Kurts except this time it makes sense because he won't be hurt by actually being in a sandstorm. With his typing, if something should happen to Avidya, he's a good replacement.
And then from Castelia City itself (there was a little hidden garden past the sewers and passage), we have Millbee, the male Cottonee! I may have missed out on the electric sheep but now we have a grass wool ball that turns into a grass sheep! Grass type, level 15, Careful nature, thoroughly cunning. Infiltrator ability, he passes through the foes barrier and strikes - I actually don't know what this means. However, right now it doesn't matter, since we have MC as our grass type and so sadly we can't have them both on the team :( But it does mean should something happen, we do have a back up.
During the break between updates I visited the ship and battled a few trainers, not much to do really. It was alright, not that interesting.
Now, onto the team itself. During the grinding, we had an evolution!

Quick update on where the team is sitting right now in terms of moves and levels before we hit the gym:
Avidya: Lvl 24. Bite, Mud-Slap, Assurance, Sand Tomb
Vechs: Lvl 24. Cut, Fake Out, Thief, Pursuit
Kurt: Lvl 24. Crunch, Work Up, Strength, Take Down
Beef: Lvl 24. Secret Power, Return, Refresh, Double Slap (no change basically)
MC: Lvl 24. Giga Drain, Leech Seed, Razor Leaf, Grasswhistle
Zisteau: Lvl 24. Rollout (Autobots, Roll out!) Flame charge, Rock Smash, Arm Thrust
Now, the next type of gym is bug and I'm probably going to use Zisteau again for the type advantage but its a shame that really only he and Kurt seem to be getting time to shine in the gym fights but with Vechs, MC and Avidya suffering from a 2x weakness to bug, my only choices here are really Beef, Kurt and Zisteau if I don't want to risk losing one. I'm gonna put Beef up front for the gym trainer fights and see how he does.

...Holy cow. This gym is covered in webbing and cocoons and it's awesome. I have a soft spot for bug pokemon, I'll admit, along with grass types. This pleases me :D
First trainer battle - aaaand I'm fighting a clown. In a bug type gym. Hmm. He sends out a lvl 20 Sewaddle, I hope being at lvl 24 is going to be alright for this place, I didn't want to overlevel again. Out goes Beef and he lands a Return, taking it down to red health. It retaliates with a String shot, slowing his speed. With a Secret Power, Beef knocks it out. In comes another Sewaddle and it gets hit with a Return, striking back with Razor Leaf while at red health. The attack does little damage thanks to Beef's incredible defense and Beef wins the battle with a Doubleslap.
Oh my lord this cocoon just spat out a clown into my face. The clown then throws a Combee at Beefs face, which uses Sweet Scent to stop us evading so well. Beef then double slaps the Combee to death, ending the five strikes with a critical hit just to be sure. Stupid smelly bees. The clown then lobs a Swadloon at us. Beef immediately gives it a Return to the face and it strikes back with Bug Bite. Another Return finishes the job and the defeat leads to Beef leveling up!
Third fight: My goodness, so many fights. Another Sewaddle. Beef loves it to death with Return. The replacement Combee suffers the same fate. In comes a Dwebble and this time Return barely takes a third of its life. Damn rock types. It uses Smackdown and Beef barely blinks at the damage. A Secret Power inflicts more damage and we're in the yellow now. That attack also paralysed the Dwebble which is quite handy. Another Smackdown and Beef just sighs, flexing his impressive beefy muscles before loving the foe to death with another Return.
Fourth fight (oh god stop) and out comes a Dwebble. Secret Power barely hurts this one and it knows Faint attack which does a little more harm than I'd hoped. Return, then it uses sand attack to lower our accuracy. A return takes it to a sliver but it uses another smackdown, still not giving up. One more return takes it out. In comes Swadloon. It avoids the loving Return and hits up with string shot. This time our return hits and it uses string shot again. It manages to attack first with time with Bug Bite but Beef's hug of death kills it and then Beef so kindly levels up again.
Its at this point I leave to hit up the pokemon centre to heal up before Burgh, the gym leader.
...Okay, combined with the freaky paint drops, the multicoloured floor covered in wet paint and the creepy music, this place is weirding me out a bit. And I liked the honey dripping gym that used to be here.
Burgh sends out his Swadloon (lvl 22) first, and I send out Beef. Return takes it to one third health and it shoots some string at us in return. One more Return sends it packing.
Out comes Dwebble (lvl 22) and it immediatly smacks us down. A return does barely a quarter of damage. Another smackdown and Beef responds with Secret power to take it to halfish health. Another round of the same but this time the dwebble is paralysed! Beef uses return to drop it down to 1hp and the dwebble can't move! Just before Beef can slap it to death, Burgh uses a hyper potion : / The resulting attack does very little damage. Beef gets off a return to which the Dwebble responds with Rock Polish to boost its speed. A return, and the Dwebble can't move again. One more return knocks it out.
In comes Leavanny (lvl 24). Seems I didn't over level, though Beef managed to make it pointless by getting to level 26 on the way here. It uses Razor Leaf and takes us to half health after all this damage. A secret power from beef takes off a third and paralyses it. Return takes it to red but it uses a berry to bring up its health a bit then uses string shot to lower our speed again. One last return finishes the job - and what a surprise, Beef levels up again!
Burgh grants us our third badge, the Insect Badge!
And also the TM Struggle Bug.
I'm impressed Beef, you singlehandedly swept an entire gym. That's incredible.
Just as we're leaving the city to explore a little more, some strange guy asks to battle us out on route 4. Odd but if thats what the plot demands, then so be it. Besides, I'm sure Beef will kick his ass.
Yeah, Beef beats his first mon and levels up. I decide to switch to Zisteau so that someone else can get some levels in XD
Anyway, he gave us a Protein, something that boosts attack in pokemon. Handy for my physical attackers.
Further up the route past the plot point blockade we couldn't get past, there's a girl who wants Millbee for a Petilil. It's cute but it's not Millbee so no. We also find a Wide Lens (Zisteau is pleased) and someone gives us some sitrus berries. Other finds include Red shard, TM Dig, Hyper potion, Stardust, Grip claw, yellow shard, another stardust, green shard...
And a new area, Desert Resort! So who do we find here?

Hm, I can't think of a good name right now. I'll let you guys decide shall I? Because I honestly can't think so post suggestions!
Inside Relic Castle is another new area but I'll come back later for that one.
Onto Nimbasa city now, and I've heard this is where I can get a sunstone for MC to evolve, If I can get it, I'll probably use it right now...

Vechs...as much as I love him, his type is already covered by Avidya but there's not really a good replacement for him yet. I don't really want to bring Baj onto the team, poison isn't really all that helpful a type on its own, but I suppose the Soon-To-Be-Genny could be useful in terms of typing. I might just wait a little and hope to catch a flying type at some point. I'm hoping for one with Keen eye that I can name Pause XD
