The Device
Chapter 2! I liked the feedback on the last chapter, can't wait to finish this story. Sorry about the cliffhanger last time, couldn't resist.
"What the heck just happened?!" Etho yelled in surprise.
"I... feel strange..." Bdubs muttered, looking at his hands. It then occured to him! He was looking at his hands... He could see and feel both of them, but he was in the spawn's Town Hall. He also wasn't sitting in his nice comfortable chair at his computer.
"Guys... Etho! What did you do? Did you just take us INTO MINDCRACK?!" Guude screamed, then descending into muttering swear words for a few minutes.
"Well, that didn't work as intended, sorry guys." Etho stated, nervously. He could see Guude was nearly hysterical. Though, that did make sense. Who wouldn't be over-reacting about being hurtled into a game?
Vechs slowly stood up. It seemed the device had thrown him and Seth to the sides. Etho seemed to have dodged out of the way of the explosion with his ninja reflexes, but the Town Hall had a few new windows, created by both. Vechs could hear Guude's screaming as if he was right beside the goggle-wearing mapmaker. He could hear what everyone was saying. Most people still seemed rather dazed from the device. Vechs had to experiment and discover what he now could do.
Seth hadn't been as lucky as Vechs. The explosion had thrown he and his bright red hat straight through the walls, and he had hit his head on a piece of stone. He was completely unconscious.
Most of the mindcrackers were unharmed, but a few were either respawning, or unconscious. Etho immediately ran to Seth, seeing as he was quite obviously hurt. Ensuring Seth wasn't too badly injured, he ran around and started checking on everyone. Pakratt, Pyro and Kurt were also unconscious.
Meanwhile, Guude had exhausted his tirade of swear words and had begun helping Etho. It was obvious that the unconscious Mindcrackers needed to recover. The spawn beacon was, of course, healing them, but it was too slow. They were also vulnerable, left out in the open. Guude suddenly realised that OOGE was all still conscious, and laughed for a few seconds, before realising it was a really bad time to laugh.
In another server, Rob got to his feet, using his sword, Excaliju, to help him stand. He looked around at all the Jimmies. He estimated 1200 were here with him. Now all he had to do was figure out why the hell he was in his keep, in Dwarves Vs Zombies.
Seth slowly opened his eyes. He tried to sit up in his bed, but was too weak.
"Where am I?" He asked, voice slow and sleepy. He noticed that there was a golden apple beside him, and reached out and grabbed it. He chewed it down, and immediately felt better. He sat up, and noticed that his head and arms were heavily bandaged. His head was aching. He reached his hand up instinctively to massage his temple, but stopped when he saw his blocky hand. He looked around all in a rush. He was in a bright room, in a comfortable bed. The room was lit by glowstone, obviously from the Nether. It resembled a hospital, and he noticed he wasn't alone. He could see Pakratt, Kurt and Pyro, all asleep, all bandaged. He could feel the spawn beacon healing him, so he was near spawn. There was a wooden door near the 4 beds. The last fact he realised, which should have been first, was the fact that everything was blocks. He was tired, and frightened. His body interpreted his fear as a need to be unconscious.
He fainted, as Vechs came through the door. The map maker saw Seth faint, and cursed. The three others hadn't awakened in two days. It was Vechs' turn to watch over the patients, and ensure they didn't come to harm. He silently placed down a chair, and sat on it, watching the patients.
