Went to Archeo's house today. We were wearing the same shirt. Unintentionally, of course. Still, odd. :3 Fun though. Putting out little Salad misadventure into fiction and flourishing as I see fit. I might show her later.

Wavelength

It's not often she wakes up and there's another mental being occupying her body. She recognizes it instantly of course - there's not too many people out there who can dodge past her barriers so easily, and certainly not one who can do both that and override her commands. She presses against the spirit, and it reluctantly backs off with a soft flippant insult, and once again she had full use of her limbs, as she sits and stretches in her bed.

"Nice to see you, Mew," Archeo mumbles into the brightening day, rummaging in her bedside chest for something to eat. She finds a piece of bread and devours it, disregarding the slightly stale taste.

"Ugh, stale bread. You should go downstairs and find an apple, or maybe a carrot. I hate stale bread."

Archeo ignores her friend's unhappy state (she could feel Mew lurking just in the barest recesses of her mind,) and sorts her inventory slowly. Ender Pearls go in that chest, a bit of spare iron ore goes into the furnace, for now, and where exactly is her pick...

"I want to go back to base."

Archeo huffs at Mew's insistance, flawlessly blocking her attempt to hijack her body. Mew grumbles and sulks, but eventually settles down, waiting for another opportune moment. "Enough of that," Archeo scolds, not bothering to force the words past her mouth. One good thing about a strong bond is mental communication. Practically no effort, if one was well rested and healthy.

However, something's not right with this picture. Mew feels ragged and exhausted, sipping from Archeo's energy reserve. Barely enough to make a difference to Archeo, but Mew's a prideful person. She would never use another's energy reserves, especially hers.

"Where have you been?"

"Mm? Oh. About."

"You know what I mean." Archeo shuts the door to her house gently, striding down the grass and cobblestone path to the Nether Portal. As she steps out at the other side, she feels Mew perk up as she realizes their destination. Archeo is pleased - a happy Mew meant a lesser chance of her body being used rather than shared.

"Eh. I may have left my physical self hiding in a ditch recovering. Nothing too serious, although I got bored and decided to have some fun."

Archeo sighs. She's not too worried, because there really isn't a reason to be worried. 'Nothing too serious' is equal to 'I'm hurting but too proud to ask for help' in Mew's language. Usually it would be something to worry about, but Mew's mental state is languid and unhurried. Nothing to worry about at all.

"You've been gone for a few weeks, you know."

"I know. I'll be back soon."

"I'd hope." Archeo slows her pace slightly. This is a long tunnel, and she doesn't want to miss exactly where Mew's base portal is. It'd be a shame if she had to backtrack. "You're missing out."

Mew simply hums. Archeo's fast approaching what looks to be a new extension of the tunnel, built in a similar style to the old tunnel, but with fresh wood. Unbidden, Archeo's head snaps to the left, staring at an opening in the wall.

"There, left, go left. Down the tunnel - oh, it looks nice. Someone finished it. Looks good."

Archeo shoves back at Mew, pausing and shaking her head, making sure that yes, she was in control once more, and that Mew wasn't going to try yet again. "Be patient," she grumbles, trotting down chilled glass path, walking into the Nether Portal confidentally.

She's initially confused by her grey surroundings, smooth and confined, so unlike her own home portal, which is exposed to the sky and surrounded by green grass and lakes abound, and that's when Mew strikes, yet again.

Her body does an odd jerking motion as she and Mew fight for control. It ends up with an ungainly tumble down the one step to the obsidian layer, and the fight abruptly ending with Mew in control of the lower body and stumbling around like an idiot, and Archeo in control with everything from the waist up, trying her best to prevent her head from knocking into the walls around her.

"Hey! Stop looking around so fast, I can't see where I am!"

"Well stop moving!" Archeo roars at Mew, both physically and mentally. Mew winces, but relents, stopping in her struggle to orient herself. Archeo lowers her arms, taking a proper look around. Instantly, Mew trots up the stairs to see the cows, she and Archeo working in tandem to hop over the fence. Wordlessly, they manage to feed the animals, making neat work of the task.

"That's new."

Archeo pauses in her panoramic of the large cave, returning to stare at the grassy area fitted with a small waterfall and all sorts of flowers. It is pretty, and she takes a minute to admire the splash of color in such a bland place.

"It's dark. Look in my chests, piece of glowstone. Just one."

Archeo rummages in the chests Mew brings her to, fishing out a solitary piece of glowstone. With further instruction, she also finds a Silk Touch Diamond Pick, admiring the pale purple glow. However, it is unfortunate that Mew decides to walk where Archeo isn't looking. They end up falling into the little pool that the waterfall ends in, splashing and flailing, a right mess.

"Augh! Weren't you listening? I told you to break the gravel and THEN place the glowstone! Not put the glowstone five blocks away from where I want it!"

Archeo's too occupied with trying not to drown to reply physically, but she does reserve a bit of effort to snap at Mew mentally. "Well if someone had been a bit more patient, this wouldn't have happened. What are you doing, get us out of here!"

"I'm trying, stop flailing around, I can't see! Okay, there we go."

They're dripping water everywhere by the time the lighting is to Mew's satisfaction, but neither of them really care much to bother. Instead, Archeo fumbles, dropping a piece of string on the floor. They spend a few minutes looking for it, but it's a lost cause. Mew grumbles and complains, but there isn't much she can do about it either.

Eventually, Archeo relinquishes a bit more control to Mew. She's content to have a break and let Mew go about her tasks of straightening up some things, attempt once again to find the string - ending in failure, of course, - and check upstairs for who knows what reason.

However, the release of control takes finally takes its toll. Archeo barely manages to keep herself from falling to the floor as Mew simply fades from control, tucking herself in the deepest and darkest abyss of Archeo's brain that she could find, slumbering quietly. Archeo chuckles, making her way out of the base.

She would berate Mew later. For now, there was things to harvest and houses to build. She had a feeling Mew wouldn't be interfering for quite a while.
