He didn't come. I felt like I was sitting on my stool for hours. How will I go? That is all I keep thinking walking home. I walk into my house, locking the door behind me. I see the book sitting on my coffee table. I pick it up for the last time, or so I fell like it is the last, and reread chapter 26. When I finished the chapter, I noticed that the very last page was missing.
I searched the whole house, nothing. Something didn't feel right... I walk into my living room, hearing a crash of thunder and seeing a flash of lightning. But what scared me the most was the figure standing by the door. I couldn't move, my legs were like stone. He spoke, his voice cold and harsh.
“You didn't wait.”
I couldn't speak. I tried looking away but something was forcing me to keep looking.
He took a step closer.
“Why didn't you wait?” he tilted his head, a smirk forming on his face. “Your pain could have ended sooner.” He took another step. We were now standing face to face.
I took a deep breath, closing my eyes. I'm waiting for my end. A few moments later I open my eyes to see he was gone. But not only that, Bdubs was laying next to me. Was that... all a dream? I scratch my head looking over to see Bdubs' chest moving up and down. I sigh in relief.
I went to the shop that day and closed it for good. I decided to clean before shutting my business down. When done cleaning I find a crumbled up piece of paper and picked it up. My eyes grow wide when seeing what the paper was... It was the last page of the book. I throw it away. I don't plan on reading it anytime soon.
I few weeks later I grew very ill. I kept the paper, pondering whether or not I should read it. I read it anyway.
…
“Well what did it say?” Pause says breaking the mood of the story.
“God damn it Pause! You ruined the mood!” Beef says punching the native in the arm, earning a whine from Pause. Everyone whined and complained around the fire while I laughed.
I stretched and yawned. “I'll tell you the rest in the morning.”
I got up and walked over to my tent. Something was watching me, I look around my surroundings and catch a glimpse of the same bright, white eyes in the story I was just telling. I shook my head, looking away. It's just a story, I thought closing my eyes.
