...but I didn't want to miss out on posting that the Nebris/Harumei fanart has already been made and it is SUPER CUTE. Also Nebris' response to that thread, which made my day. [This may be an excuse to make a Fanserver: Harumei tag as well....]

Regarding the Harumei thing... I feel pretty awful for her. She honestly seemed embarrassed in the fanserver video, so I hope this sudden attention isn't going to upset her. The fan art may have been a little overkill, cute as it is.
I dunno! Does anyone with more experience in shipping want to weigh in on the situation?

Also! I don't have a favorite prank, but I could try drawing something. Any suggestions?

She does seem a bit embarrassed, it's true, but I don't think she's truly upset. It seems she gets a lot of this relentless teasing on the fanserver with or without the public attention already. Then again, as I've said, I myself would be extremely flattered if people cared enough about me to ship me, because I realize it's a form of fannish affection - but whether I'm the exception or the rule, I have no idea.

Oh, I don't know if she is upset, I'm just saying that I hope she isn't bothered by the attention. Personally, I'd be embarrassed in her situation, so I'm also projecting myself a bit here. I think the difference between this and 'normal' shipping is that she actually has a bit of a crush, however minor, so it feels more like making fun of someone for having a crush. Again, not saying that's what anyone's intent is - but that's my reasoning for giving the girl some space.

I dunno, being teased just in your circle of friends on the fanserver and then having that open up to the community at large seem like two vastly different things. This is the most attention she's ever gotten (she said in her most recent video that the tour gave her the biggest boost of subscribers she's ever had, by a lot), and like half of the comments on her tour video are about the Nebris thing, some of them bordering on pervy, and she'll probably forever be known as the girl with the crush on Nebris, which, long term, I can see being pretty annoying if I was in that position if people were still going on about it. She also talked in her post tour video about just how embarrassed and nervous she was, which I hadn't really gotten from the tour itself since I thought she and Guude played off each other so well. In any case, I do hope she's not actually upset about any of it. The fanart was super cute, in any case.

I've been keeping a close eye on her responses to the shipping, because, well... her affection for Nebris's voice is completely adorable (and 100% understandable). She seems to be taking it in stride so far. I think as long as people keep in mind that it's just a crush, she'll be fine. She did respond to the fanart gif of her and Nebris, and I think it makes her embarrassed but not upset.

So much content today! So far I've seen Pause's 1-year video, Millbee's fruit video, the gorgeous Dr. Brian Lorgon111's face, Cobblehaters, and the B-Team adventures, as well as Coe's update, and there's still more to go! Thoughts so far:

Brian is beautiful. How does the Mindcrack community have so many attractive people, and have all the people I don't find attractive be totally awesome to compensate? Not that the attractive people aren't awesome too, but...you all know what I mean.

Nebs's singing sounded like it hurt! All of the disappearing players was so funny, everyone popping in and out. I wonder if that's what it would be like if FLoB was multiplayer - I was totally getting a world-deterioration vibe.

Pause's video reminded me why I started watching him, even if I haven't been very much recently. He's so genuinely excited by things, and grateful to everyone for letting him do the things he loves, and his relationship with Andrea is just awesome. When he's acting, he gets a little too melodramatic, but when he's being real, he is such a real guy.

Millbee is awesome. Sometimes I have probablems watching Millbee because his inefficiency does frustrate me, but when I'm able to get past that, his actual speech content is so great.

Oh yeah, I didn't even bring up Pauseypoo! Hearing him be all happy and excited is the bestest. I love than Andrea is such an important part of his life that he *had* to include her in his channel.

And now for the inevitable face/voice congruence thing that happens whenever someone shows their face for the first time. A bunch of people are saying Brian looks like they imagined or the two things fit, but I'm having the opposite experience. He doesn't look at all how I imagined him and spent most of that video being distracted by this, though he is quite nice to look at, so I am not complaining.

I totally agree, Brian didn't look anything like what I had imagined (also definitely not complaining here though...). Then again most people don't look like what I imagined based on their voices, so I dunno.

It's not as bad if I know what they look like from the beginning, since I don't have time to create a mental image based on the voice alone, and with Brian, I've always had an inaccurate mental depiction of the guy just from listening to him. I always thought he sounded like he was in his mid 20's at best, when he's really in his mid 30's, and I've never really consolidated that bit of information.

I've been playing the N/H ship by ear lately, as I don't want to start shipping it if it makes her uncomfortable. But all of the tongue-in-cheek shipping going on in the main reddit is adorable. I feel that if she really starts getting awkward about it all, she or one of her fan server friends will go around telling people to knock it off. They seem like a close-knit group that would stand up for one another like that. :) I know that the ship would most likely never actually happen, as Nebris has been talking a lot lately about his one-night stands with his female friends and seems not in a place to settle down at all, but her reactions to all the teasing are really endearing.

There are some people being obnoxious about it (and a little pervy) in her most recent video, but as I mentioned to her there, that's just the trolls who have found her through the tour video. They'll go away with time, as they always do. At least most of the sexist trolls are talking about her "wanting Nebris" instead of what they'd like to do to her... argh, I am so disillusioned with the treatment of female LPers these days, but it is true that her crush on Nebris has kept a lot of the usual creepers from being too obnoxious.

I find it cute, though I would totally be embarrassed if I was in her position, I dunno. I don't think it's out of hand or anything, but part of me is easily worried over people on stuff like this I guess? I feel that her biggest concern is that she will come off as creepy, though I don't think the community feels that way about her.

Surprise Brian Face though, oh my goodness. As if I needed yet another reason to love him O_O

I kind of had a low-level crush on Brian (as I have for most of the YouTubers I watch, what can I say), but oh man. Knowing he's that cute and as funny and lovely as he is? Ack! Looking forward to his IRL videos for sure!

With regards to the Harumei thing, I am undecided. It's weird because it's not the same sort of shipping that we do where we all know it's fake. It just feels more personal because she actually does have a crush on him and that's gotta be really embarrassing. And of course there's the fact that it's a het ship that's getting all this attention vs. if it had been a same-sex one. It's hard to say if Reddit would be embracing it as whole-heartedly if Harumei was a guy with a crush on Nebris, and that's a double-standard I don't care for. Though I know I'm just being pedantic as well, and when I divorce myself from that mentality I think it's very cute. (Though I don't forsee myself actually fannishly shipping them any time soon, haha.) I love what someone on Reddit said though about Nebris on the first date taking her back to "his place" for a tour of his base and Guude whitelisting her for the day. It'll never happen but it'd be epic.
