Isi's Mindcrack Mod Adventures, Part 22
Saturday, November 3rd, 2012 02:40 pmPreviously, we made our Mindcracker farm and selection system.... semi operational, so let's not fuss any more over that. It's time for doing something cool with these guys!

It only seemed fitting I start with Guude. He started the server, after all, and he was also the very first person I found in this world. So just for you, man, I made you something.

The mine cart system could still use some work. Guude got stuck in the doorway, and carts are surprisingly hard to push when occupied by these guys. It's a problem that could easily be fixed with more powered rails, but I still don't have enough gold for that.
Anyway, I get him out and lead him to the little tribute I built just for him.

Such a lovely shot with the sunset in the background. After watching Guude's two year special, duplicating the pattern of the G was quite easy having watched him do it a dozen times. But we need a sign.

There we go.
It only seems fitting that I put something for BdoubleO right next to him, though I haven't decided what. He's known for building, so whatever I do for him will likely be a bit more complex than my Guude logo project, and I'm not quite ready for a large undertaking. I'm starting small.

As an aside, I've also started a chicken farm for future resources like food, using just the eggs I've idly picked up along my journeys. Now that I'm "retired" from constant adventuring, I have to be self sustaining now. As you can tell, it's coming along swimmingly.
Anyway, I need a new project. Something small again, because I'm still not used to this building thing. What else can I do that's simple, easily replicated, and accurately reflects one of the Mindcrackers?
Oh I know!

Why didn't I think of this sooner? I'm basically having the same crisis Kurt has with suddenly being tasked with building something and not knowing where or how to start. So I'll just do as he does. Hidey hole!

In both the full size and elevated variety! But I think we all can agree that something's missing here. We need a Wolfie.
I go out exploring the snowy biome near my home and search for wolves. I don't actually remember seeing any nearby before, but I was never looking for them. Of course, now that I am looking for them, they prove elusive. It's dark by the time I spot a pack, and of course I didn't think this far ahead, so I'll just have to deal with nighttime.

Puppy! And he only took one bone to tame, just like the real Wolfie. Now let's hurry back.

I quickly sleep when I reach my bed and go to put my wolf with Kurt, but there be creepers afoot! The creeper general, he's on to us! This creeper was already in the process of tracking me and got stuck spinning on the fence, which I always find amusing when mobs do that. I'll just... take care of this...

Well that was an utter failure. Luckily Wolfie was not harmed, so let me just patch things up and move a new Kurt in here...

It's like nothing ever happened! Nope, nooo covered up creeper explosions here. Don't you know Kurt's never died in Far Lands or Bust?
Let me know if there's something you want to see me do next. Give me ideas for future Mindcracker tribute builds. :)

Date: Saturday, November 3rd, 2012 09:15 pm (UTC)How about using one of the desert village houses as inspiration for a BdoubleO build? (I was also thinking of his dirt house from his pilot Creative FTW, but I think he's better known for making epic villages both in single player and Mindcrack, so...) Or if you want to go meta, Amlup did make that "Double O Records" house in Uncharted Territories (2, I think?) that you could recreate too.

And of course you know what the arena village looks like - just pick a building! The torrent of the map as of Sept 20 should still be around if you really want to spend the time and energy looking into it, haha.

Date: Saturday, November 3rd, 2012 09:55 pm (UTC)Its a shame there's no Genny, would have been simple to have pigs in saddles :D Zisteau needs signs and sandstone and pictures. Millbee needs some multicoloured sheep or a house made out of different coloured wool blocks. I can't think of anyone else, my head is too full of assessments x-x
