Fic: Cold Snow
Friday, December 27th, 2013 02:47 amWell, I found a kinda prompt on Tumblr and I just had to write it since it was a super fluffy SMS thing. Also, sorry about the ending... It's 2:50am, I have no idea how to actually end this, I kinda extended my plot draft...
'Knew this was a bad idea, but when has that ever stopped me before?’ Zisteau thought as he curled himself up under a tree. He had ventured into the snow, searching for anything to quell his boredom. He had forgotten that Zombie Pigmen, like him, didn’t exactly take well to the colder climates and was now absolutely freezing. “Why are you so stupid?” He spoke to his hand, as if it were that one limbs fault. Zisteau sighed as he lay his hand on the ground, resigning himself to a very cold and possibly fatal night.
Nearby, a young man was pulling his long coat tighter around himself as he followed his rather large dog through the snowy forest. “Why did you decide to walk this way, Wolfie? It’s far too cold.” Kurt softly chastised his companion, who merely barked in response with no pause in his step. The man sighed and continued to follow.
With no warning, Wolfie paused and let out a loud bark before running off deep into the forest. Kurt yelped and began to run after him, “Wolfie! Stop! Come back!”
After a couple of minutes of running, the dog stopped and barked back to his running owner. Kurt managed to catch up and saw what had caused his friend to get all worked up. “Oh dear, Zisteau. Are you alright?” He tapped the pigman on the shoulder and he stirred ever so slightly.
“Kurt, what are-” Zisteau began to speak but was overcome by his shuddering body.
“Oh god. Come on, we need to get you away from the cold!” Kurt grabbed his friend’s arm and began to lift him up, with some assistance from Wolfie who was nudging under the pigman’s body. Once he was up off of the ground, the man wrapped the other’s arm around his shoulder and began to walk back the way he came. “Wolfie, lead the way back to that house we saw.”
Upon following Wolfie, Kurt was able to get Zisteau back to a small cabin that was nearby. He placed the pigman right in front of the fireplace, which Kurt then lit and went about getting a rather large mug of hot coffee made especially for Zisteau. Once he’d made it and handed it to his friend, Kurt sat next to him and gazed into the fire as Wolfie lay behind the pair.
Kurt couldn’t help noticing Zisteau’s uncomfortable looking position as the two of them sat in silence. The crackling of the fire was the only noise in the room, other than the heavy, stuttering breathing emanating from Zisteau’s mouth as he attempted to warm up.
However, it seemed as if the fire were not doing anything for Zisteau’s cold and Kurt began to think of all the things he could do to help. Once he saw no other option, he slid his coat off of his own shoulders and put it over Zisteau’s instead. When the other looked at him in confusion, Kurt merely smiled and turned away to give Wolfie some attention.
Wolfie, consequently, sensed the situation going on and moved from his place behind the pair to sit up against Zisteau’s body in an attempt to share body heat. Kurt let out a short, breathy laugh that was mirrored by his cold friend, but the room soon fell back into the ambient noises that were there before. The man moved back to his original position of sitting next to Zisteau, gazing into the dancing flames in the fireplace.
All too quickly, Kurt felt himself beginning to grow cold but he daren’t show this to Zisteau. With a sideways glace, he noticed that his pigman friend was slowly warming up as his shivers were becoming less frequent. He allowed a single shiver to run through his body, thinking it would go unnoticed. Of course it didn’t and Kurt only realised when he felt an arm wrap around his body.
In an instant, all he could feel was Zisteau’s body under his own. Any attempt to pull away due to sheer embarrassment was foiled as the arm was still curled around him and was holding him tightly in place. All Kurt could do was speak.
“Um… Z-Zisteau?” A grunt came in response as the pigman’s head turned down to look at the man, “W-what are you doing?”
“Warming you up. Sharing body heat is one of the best ways, so I’ve been told. You can thank Wolfie for giving me the idea.” Kurt was able to send a look of strained annoyance at the dog’s head as it popped up upon hearing its name.
Kurt was only able to mumble something unintelligible under his breath in response, resigning himself to pulling his legs in closer to be in a more comfortable position.
He would be lying to himself if he said he hadn’t thought of the idea earlier, it just seemed a too forward thing to do. Kurt eventually relaxed and practically melted into the pigman’s body – it was almost radiating heat now. He lifted his head to look up at Zisteau and he found that his friend was already staring down at him.
The two moved at the same time. A hesitant and short kiss was shared between them. Not a word was said as Kurt lay his head back down upon Zisteau’s body, all eyes turning back to the flames. They barely moved an inch as night fell and both fell asleep at some point.
Upon waking, Kurt was greeted with a sight he wished he could forget. It was the smug grin of a certain other friend of his – BdoubleO. He went to sit up, but Zisteau’s arm was still tight around him. It was only then that he realised that he and Zisteau were just found by BdoubleO sleeping on the floor of this cabin together - and not just together, but curled up against each other. The blush on Kurt’s face rapidly grew with each passing moment as BdoubleO laughed.
“So, how was your sleep?” The laughing man spoke in a mocking tone, attempting to now pry Kurt out of the pigman’s strong grip.
Kurt was unable to answer with full sentences so just offered a high-pitched noise and a shrug in response to the question.
“Good, good. Well, I guess I should ask why you are here and how this happened.” BdoubleO pulled a chair out of the kitchen in the next room and sat upon it, eyes trained upon Kurt.
“Well, I was taking Wolfie for a walk and he ran off at one point. He found Zisteau freezing under a tree and I knew this place was here so I took him back here. I lit the fire to try and warm him up, but that didn’t work so I gave him my coat and then Wolfie went to lay up against him. Then I got cold and Zisteau noticed so he got the idea from Wolfie to share body heat. That’s when he pulled me close to him and then we just kind of fell asleep...” Kurt quickly rambled on about the previous night’s events. He chose to leave out the kiss as he knew what BdoubleO’s reaction would be to that.
BdoubleO opened his mouth to say something, but was cut off by a soft chuckle from the pigman who had now released Kurt from his grasp, “I think you missed something out there…” He flipped over to his front and gave a sideward glance to BdoubleO before focusing upon Kurt’s face which seemed to be glowing red.
“What is this missing detail then?” The seated man raised an eyebrow at the two of them, the grin from earlier slowly reappearing on his face.
The silence lasted a good few minutes before Kurt gave in and spoke quietly, “There may have been… something else… that happened.”
“And that would be?”
The red faced man managed to speak even quieter as he confessed, “…kiss…”
There was a joyful sound that lifted Kurt’s gaze from the from the floor to the man sitting above him who looked as if he had gained the best present he could ever have asked for. “So, how long until its official, you two?”
“Maybe a couple months,” Zisteau joked as a strained noise slipped from Kurt’s throat. There was a laugh between the other two before Wolfie awoke and nuzzled against his master’s side, having only awoken a few seconds before and being utterly confused by the laughter.
