The Nether, despite all it's doom and gloom and death, was blazingly hot and blindingly bright. It had always made Kurt nervous, and despite the fact that he had been with Zisteau for some time now, he had usually declined the pigman's request to come with him for visits.
This time, however, it was special. Kurt and Zisteau had hit a milestone, an anniversary, and Kurt decided to oblige his pigman's request for company in the Nether.
Kurt's stomach turned in many unpleasant ways as Zisteau led him by the hand into the swirling purple portal. The sensation of being ripped out of one dimension and placed into another always made Kurt nauseated. Zisteau, being a native to the Nether, didn't even think twice about the trip.
"You alright, Kurt?" Zisteau asked as he noticed Kurt double over slightly as the two exited the portal.
Kurt stood and grinned, ignoring the wave of nausea that threatened to overtake him. "Yeah, never better," he said. This was a special day and Kurt wasn't about to let a little upset stomach ruin his time out with Zisteau. Zisteau chuckled and took Kurt's hand, leading him through the Nether.
Soon, they left the safety of the Nether hub and into the blazing wilderness. As they walked across the scorched landscape, Kurt's stomach slowly settled back into place and all was well. Zisteau spoke energetically as they walked, talking about this build and that build, and Kurt listened with a smile. Zisteau's energy was one of the things Kurt liked best about him.
The other pigmen wandered around them, not really giving them a second glance. Kurt had long wondered why Zisteau had turned out different than the rest of the other pigmen. Physically he was all pigman, but he had the intelligence of a human being. Maybe that was why Zisteau left the Nether: to gain a sense of belonging. Long ago, Kurt had brushed the pigman thing aside and had learned to appreciate Zisteau for his intelligence, his energy, his passion.
Somewhere in the distance, a ghast cried, thankfully out of the line of sight of the two travelers.
Kurt and Zisteau walked on, unaware that the netherrack underneath their feet had turned to gravel.
"And when I'm done with the tower part, I'm gonna put in ladd-" Zisteau began, but his words were cut off by a fireball that exploded right below him. It seemed the ghast had found them after all. Thankfuly, neither the Farlander nor the pigman had been hit by the blast.
However, the gravel beneath Kurt's feet had. Kurt only had time to give a cry of surprise before it dropped out from under him, sending him plunging toward the lava below.
As Kurt fell, life seemed to go in slow motion. He saw the netherrack and glowstone ceiling getting further and further away from him. He heard Zisteau yell his name and jump after him. Kurt thought that this was almost certainly the end. All in all, however, he was happy with the way his life had gone. He had had a lot of fun being with Zisteau; the boisterous pigman had opened Kurt's eyes to many new experiences, and every day with him had been full of happiness and adventure.
His last thought as he blacked out was 'well, at least it'll be quick.'

His first thought as he came to was how much his head hurt. He opened his eyes to find the ceiling of his very own house above him. He was laying in his bed, and save for a few small burns and cuts, was mostly unharmed.
He groaned and tried to lift his head, but his efforts were blocked by a sudden weight.
"Kurt! You're okay!" Zisteau exclaimed, hugging Kurt tightly.
Kurt returned the hug. "Never better," he said with a small chuckle. "Did... did I fall?"
Zisteau helped Kurt sit up, and then sat down at the edge of Kurt's bed. "Yes, that ghast took out some gravel beneath you, and you took a tumble down towards the lava. Thankfully, there was a little island in the lava that you landed on... remind me to bring some fire resistance potions for next time..." Zisteau explained, trailing off.
"N-next time?" Kurt asked, a little bit of fear in his eyes.
"Anyway, since lava doesn't hurt me, I jumped down and grabbed you," Zisteau continued, ignoring Kurt's previous statement. "I hope you're okay."
Kurt smiled. "Thank you for saving me, Zisteau. Sorry I kind of ruined out anniversary by almost dying," he said, smiling and chuckling warmly.
Zisteau climbed into Kurt's bed, settling down next to him. "Aw, don't be like that," the pigman said with a grin. "Come here..." He gently grabbed the sides of Kurt's face and kissed him softly. Kurt responded by kissing him back and wrapping his arms around him.
Zisteau took the initiative and pushed Kurt down onto the bed, being mindful of Kurt's wounds.
What followed next is what would generally follow on an anniversary gone well...
END
Sorry, I can't write smut all that well, so I kinda had a fade to black thing. Also, I've never written Zisteau before...
I hope you like it, Panda!
