Theropod Plays Pokemon Version Mindcrack: 1

mindcrackloveHello and welcome to the first part of the Pokemon Black Version 2 playthrough I've affectionately dubbed Version Mindcrack! Click the cut to see the beginning of our journey, including the selection of our starter, a statement of the rules of this run, and other things! I'll be linking images, just click them if you want to see :3

I'll be playing as the girl player, who has what looks like brown buns strapped to her head. I dub her Theropod - or I would if the character limit would let me. We are now Thero.
Our rival is a male with hair spiky enough to rival Sonic. For lols sake, I dubbed him Kurruru.
Now, before I take the starter, I shall describe the rules:
1. If a pokemon faints, they are considered dead. They must be released or boxed permanently for the rest of the game. A graveyard box, if you will.
2. Only the first pokemon from an area can be caught. If I run into a duplicate pokemon, I can choose not to catch that and attempt to get another.
3. All pokemon must be named after Mindcrackers and an image posted to help people identify them. If I run out of Mindcrackers or I catch a pokemon I think should be named after another LPer, then thats allowed too.
I'll mostly be avoiding mentioning the plot, since its generally the same for all pokemon games. Beat 8 gyms to collect the gym badges, then challenge the Elite 4 and Champion to become THE RULER OF THE KNOWN WORLD - oh wait, no, just the Champion, okay. Also you usually end up defeating some kind of evil team along the way and beating legendary, one off pokemon.
We start off in our home town Aspertia and Kurruruuuuu is following us as we hunt for the person to give us our first mon, Bianca! I must say, it's a lovely place. Upon finding her, she offers our choices:
Snivy: [image] Grass type
Tepig: [image] Fire type
Oshawott: [image] Water type
In Black 1, I took a Snivy and she's wonderful, I love her. A real tank. But I know who I want for this run...
Say HEYOOOOO to our glorious first pokemon, Zisteau the Tepig! A fire type pig, how could I NOT select him? Here's what his profile has to say about him:
Level 5. Careful Nature. Often lost in thought. His special ability is Blaze, which powers up his fire type attack moves when 'in a pinch', which means if his health gets low in a fight, his fire type moves become more powerful.
The kind lady who gifted us this pokemon also handed us a pokedex. Naturally, Kurruru appears and wants one of his own. She hands one over, of course. And then he demands a battle..
Zisteau gets his first fight! Ouch, he's taking tackles to the face, but he's dishing out tackles just as hard to the rivals Oshawatt! But a Tail Whip from the Oshawott allows Zisteau to get in a hit when all the opponent did was lower Zisteau's defence instead of doing damage! The Zisteau sneaks in with another tackle to WIN THE FIGHT!
And then to add insult to injury, Zisteau gains enough experience to level up when he trounced the blue otter. Kurruruuuuu is defeated! And he gave us 500 pokecash for beating him. Lets call that 500 emeralds, hm?
We get a gift of some pokeballs from Bianca and we're pretty much set to go and get our new team mates from any surrounding routes!
On the way, we get given a Town Map, which is helpful because wow, suddenly its a lot more populated than it was in Black 1. Our home town is in the very bottom left hand corner there. Our first stop is Route 19 for our new friend...Who will it be?
A level 4 male Purrloin! I was torn for names, because while no Mindcrackers fit the description (a thief who charms his victims and attacks viciously) I was tempted to call him Vechs or Lynx-O, from Zisteau's Skyrim playthrough. However, since Lyx-O is not an LPer, I went for Vechs, since he acts sweet toward the players in his maps sometimes before he gets rather cruel. If you can think of a better suggestion, tell me! There's always a place further on where you can change names.
Vechs profile: Gentle nature (HAH), likes to run. Dark type (also known as Evil typing) and his special ability is Limber, which prevents him from being paralysed. Quite handy. I have an evolution of this guy in Black 1, called him Remi. He's a wonderful thing, always lands critical hits when I need him to. Lets hope Vechs survives long enough to evolve, they can be pretty fragile.
Vechs wins his first battle against another Purrloin, taking it down in to hits, the last of which was a critical. Clearly he's jealous of me mentioning Remi. Don't worry, I won't describe every battle. Just their first, important battles probably, and obviously, any last battles where we lose a friend.
And at last we reach the next town over, Floccesy Town! That's all for this update, tell me what you think and I'll have a bit of a playthrough, do some level grinding and when we return, catch some more friends :3

I'll try not to play too far ahead, but having a new member of the family already will make for a good opening.
