Hello all! I've lurked around here for a while, and I finally decided to join and write something.
Some background for this, since it was originally a chapter in a longer fic:
This takes place on the S3 server, a day or two before the reset (so Guude's house at spawn is done). It also has Shree in it because I'm still in denial. :) (Does Shree not have a tag anymore?)
Feel free to critique, just be nice about it (posted a chapter of a fanfic to the Reddit, they were jerks about it). Also, sorry if it's a bit difficult to read, I wrote this on the notes of my iPad, so... Yeah. That's something. Anyway, ON TO THE STORY!!
"Are you ready yet Shree?"
"Almost, Pyro!"
Pyro had been over Shree's house when Guude called, so they decided to go to spawn together. The two of them had been playing a round of Settlers of Catan, and luckily Pyro had everything he needed with him. Shree finished zipping his backpack when Pyro walked in.
"Are you done yet Shree?"
"Yes, I'm ready to go, now stop bugging me!" Shree replied as they started to walk out of the door.
A nearly silent few minutes later, Pyro asked Shree "Do you want to race to spawn?"
"Um... Sure, I guess", Shree answered. After a couple of seconds of thinking, Shree asked "Where do you want to race to?"
"What do you say to Guude's house?" Pyro suggested.
"Sounds good to me! Ready?"
"Ok, 3..." Pyro started the countdown.
"2..." Shree continued.
"1... GO!" they yelled in unison as they both sprinted off through the small forest they were in. Pretty soon the forest trees gave way to huge jungle trees. Still within a few feet of each other, the two racers came upon a tall and steep mountain in the middle of the jungle. When he saw it, Shree stopped and thought "What? How do I get over that?"
Unfazed by the obstacle, Pyro nimbly jumped up the jungle trees to reach the top of the hill.
Shree rummaged through his bag to take out a pearl as black as The End and threw it to the top of the hill. Upon its impact, the Ender Pearl teleported Shree to the top, and only a few feet behind Pyro.
Surprised, Pyro yelled back to Shree "Ender Pearls? Where did you get those?"
"I had them with me", replied Shree. "And besides, I can't jump up trees like you can!"
"Fine, just try not to use them again."
"Don't worry, I shouldn't need them" were the last words Shree spoke before they began fully racing again.
A minute or so later, the jungle trees thinned out until there were no more.
Now in the open desert, Shree could see for miles around, and he saw nothing but sand. He caught a glimpse of Pyro and thought "How does Pyro run so fast in that costume? I'll have to remember to ask him later." Shree was jolted from his thoughts by the sight of a desert temple, missing its orange wool. Seeing that, Shree idly thought "Orange Wool" before becoming lost in running again.
Not even a minute later, Shree and Pyro found themselves running into another jungle. Deciding that trying to run on the ground didn't work out very well last time, Shree found a tree with low-lying branches and used it to climb up to the treetops. Seeing that, Pyro did the same, swinging from branch to branch with ease. Pretty soon, Shree and Pyro were swinging all over the place, up and down, traveling towards spawn at a pretty fast rate.
Once the jungle ended again, the two both landed back on the ground and continued running without breaking stride. Blazing over the open plains, they blew past a confused Kurt and Zisteau, who where walking together to spawn.
A couple of seconds later, Shree nearly collided with Pause, who was joking with Beef and yelling "Popsic!" all around.
"Sorry!" yelled Shree back to the bewildered pair before setting his sights straight ahead again.
After that it was a straight sprint to Guude's house. Shree looked to his right and saw Pyro, dead even with him. Pyro also looked towards Shree and also saw that they were even.
Now they were closing in on Guude's house. 150 blocks. 100 blocks.
The two of them had hit full sprint now, and were running as fast as they possibly could.
Shree could almost reach the house now, but so could Pyro.
Time seemed to slow now. Shree was 3 blocks away, 2 blocks, 1...
"I win!" came the call from both of them as they reached the house.
"So... It's a tie?" asked Shree, panting from the run.
" I guess so." replied Pyro, also visibly exhausted.
"Okay then..."
"Now I'm tired-" began Pyro, not getting far due to his lack of breath.
"Let's see, we have..." Shree answered, looking at his watch. "2 hours until the meeting, so we have time.
"Neat!" replied Pyro, dropping down onto the grass.
Shree laid down next to Pyro. He was getting really drowsy now, about to fall asleep.
"Pyro?"
"Yeah Shree?"
"We should do this again sometime."
"Definitely"
And then they were silent.
Shree laid there, thinking to himself.
*Maybe I shouldn't always be so mature, it's nice to lighten up a little... I'm the youngest one here, after all.*
And after those thoughts, Shree just relaxed, and let his tiredness take him into the most relaxed state he has ever been in...

Anyways, don't worry about us around here. This is the place where fics aren't just placed but praised and loved. Reddit is, let's put it, not so nice with fan fiction so we like to keep to ourselves where we know what we write will be accepted and loved. ;)
It's nice to see the yougest ones of the server just kick back and have some kid fun once in awhile!

Date: Saturday, November 30th, 2013 05:52 am (UTC)Ending on a happy note, this story is really cute! A bit messy, but that's another charm. Reminds me of my own stories except mine are very messy and they're made up of very complicated plots.
(p.s. I forgot to say hello so HELLO! I also write on the notes on my iPad too, haha. Don't need to worry. How shall we refer to you as?)
