I'm sorry if I'm doing this wrong, this is my first post here.
I got this idea from Episode 284 of Far Lands or Bust!

He walked rhythmically and nodded almost imperceptibly to a song in his head. Normally he wouldn't be this calm when walking into the supermarket, but not many people would be shopping this early on a Saturday morning. He smiled slightly when the gust of air hit him as the automatic doors opened, the air conditioning welcome on his face. The weather was nice today and the sun was warm on his buzz-cut scalp, but he preferred the comfort of the indoors.
He passed the bakery, looking longingly at the freshly baked bread. His stomach urged him to grab a warm loaf, but his brain reminded him of his gluten intolerance. After a long, hard pause, he reluctantly hurried away, looking over his shoulder as a man with a shopping cart approached the bread station. He stole a glance behind him to see if the shopping cart was following, but the man was intent at picking a donut.
Sighing a breath he unconsciously was holding, he walked to the produce area, grateful for the narrowly avoiding the interaction. He looked around to see if he was alone before continuing to browse, picking up carrots and celery to put in his salad. He prided himself in having a moderately colorful diet, and remembered he was missing bell peppers. Red, orange, and yellow bell peppers for a rainbow on his plate. The bell peppers were firm and looked delicious, and he absorbed himself into picking a couple good ones to put in his stir fry. He didn't notice the woman until she spoke up.
"My kids always want the yellow and the orange ones, but they all taste the same." She commented, smiling at the man as she inspected the orange bell peppers. He froze with a red bell pepper in his hand, his heart beating faster as he tried to formulate a reply.
"Yeaheglsehsgmfsd." He mumbled, trying not to seem rude but wishing dearly he could leave. The woman continued like he didn't say anything.
"You're just grabbing the red ones, right?" She asked as she pulled two plastic produce bags out and handed him one to put the peppers in.
"Yes." He said, when he meant no. He slowly put the bell pepper he grabbed into the bag, before inspecting the other red ones. The lady did the same, inspecting the orange ones before selecting a few.
"How would you know?" He asked, feeling suddenly bold.
"Hmm?" She looked and he felt a wave of anxiety fill him.
"How would you know, if you mix them together? They'd look betterorsomething?" He felt stupid and trailed off, looking away.
"Oh, we eat raw vegetables. We don't mix them together." She replied and he nodded and shoved two more bell peppers in and quickly walked away. He had a quicker pace during the rest of this shopping expedition, the serenity of the saturday morning now broken by the awkward interaction with the random woman.
