First, tell me which would you rather have:

* Post directly to the community every time you have a relevant observation/prompt, however small. This means a lot of "spam"/clutter - probably many posts a day, all of which will be very short - but everything will be taggable, and generally there won't be issues with expanding comments and such.

* A post once every week for prompts and observations, which centralizes discussion and means less community spam, but is harder to categorize and expanding comments is pretty much unavoidable

* A post once every day (or every other day) for prompts and observations, which is a compromise between the two

*************

Secondly, if you have written fanfiction in Mindcrack, please let me know if you own an account to the Archive of our Own. I'd like a concerted effort to get fanfic on there and begin preparation for organized participation in [community profile] yuletide 2012.

*************

Thirdly, as the need arises, I will be making "mindcracker: x" tags for each member of the server, as well as "fanserver: y" and "other: z" tags. Do we need more tags than those? I'd prefer not to have pairing tags, instead letting people just search for multiple tags in combination.

I like lots of posts and I like tags. I feel as though stuff will get lost in a daily post, and conversations will continue on in those daily posts for days and days and eventually lead to expanding, which sucks. Making a new post when you have something interesting to say or discuss I think works pretty well, and it allows us to then tag it for the appropriate person, something that even posts like Sunday's are woefully lacking. If we start getting too many posts I guess we can revisit it, but it doesn't seem to be that way for now - not that I can really think of a point of 'too many posts', coming from Bandom and Doctor Who livejournal communities that often have new posts every hour or so at the slowest :P

Tags - use them lots! The meta tag, for instance, belongs on the rules post, the list posts, etc, and the fanfiction tag certainly belongs on the fanfiction list. As for individual people tags, I think a tag for each person is fine. But meta-type tags are always incredibly useful to have a lot of - fic, video, art (someone get Six in here if she isn't one of you guys :P), etc.

Edit: Yeah, I'm on AO3. Find me there as amethyst__angel currently. I knew I should have stuck with that name when I signed up for Dreamwidth; this is the first fic/shipping community I've gotten involved with in ages using my other name. Silly me.
