Awesome Stuff is Happening Today!

Aside from the FIFA that our lovely moderator pointed out (and maybe they'll see your comment on the Reddit and do some versus. I totally agree that the trash talk would be awesome.)

Joe Hills plays Super Hostile Roguelike #1. And since this is basically the Vechs Fan Club, I figured this was significant enough to post here. Because Vechs. Also, Joe Hills is awesome. I recently subscribed to him and his silliness and awesomeness could rival the B-Team. Not to mention his accent, which is actually quite nice, and the fact that I find him incredibly attractive.

Beef gets pranked AGAIN with American flags and the Nether biome, but with no identifying sign. Kurt owes Beef a prank, so my first thought was that it was a Single Malt collaboration. That probably was not the case, though. MC mentioned doing a prank recently, as did Bdubs, so we will just have to wait. It's like the week of pranks all over again - not that I have any problem with that! The intense amount of wool in the prank really makes me think it's Zisteau - does MC even have blue sheep? What a waste of lapis! Maybe someone is framing Zisteau, maybe Z is pranking Beef in Kurt's honor, maybe I REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHO IT WAS COME ON GUYS.

Pause and Andrea play Silent Hill 2. It's just Pause playing with Andrea watching, but as we were just discussing how romantic partners fit into gaming life, it's really awesome to have another reminder of how Andrea and Pause are just really good friends, and that's awesome. Best friends make the best poly partners, after all XD

Speculation: Zisteau recently tweeted about some really intense editing for his next Mindcrack episode, but didn't talk about the episode content at all. Perhaps this is evidence point to him as the pranker? =o

Eee! I will have to watch that SH2 video - I'm not much of a Pause fan, but I think he and Andrea are adorable together. I love the idea of recording gaming with partners/IRL friends, because I think it is a unique dynamic. Z's Life on Bogota series is another great example of "playing games with good friends."

MC slipped that he had a prank video coming up today on GMM as well, and apparently Bdubs has also been hinting at pranking. They're all American - a collaboration perhaps???????

Actually it's Andrea playing with Pause doing the watching. Special guest star Navi too :D Its pretty cute, I was saddened when Pause couldn't finish the first time he played but now I'm all happy again.

I would be so squeeful if it was Kurt and Zisteau. The man does have an impressive number of sheep so it's possible but MC IS the one with all the lapis (allll the lapis, none for anyone else).

I thought about putting a question into the podcast, asking the guys what they thought of all the shipping that goes on (and maybe ask if they secretly shipped each other too) but then I couldn't find/remember the email address and it felt like a stupid question to be honest.

I totally must not have been paying sufficient attention; I totally figured it was Pause playing. Haha.

Rule #1 of RPF is to not alert the people you're writing about that you're writing about them. So as much as I'd love to hear some answers, it totally breaks rule 1, and honestly I would also hate to find out that any of our favorites (Etho or Beef, for instance) were uncomfortable with it, because then I'd feel guilty.

Actually Kurt double-owes a prank, I'm sure he promised when he was a guest on the QubeTubers charity stream that he would prank someone if they hit their total. Then they got that large donation from Notch that pushed them over.

MC may have all the lapis, but he considers it a huge waste to go toward wool. He has used Nebris' sheep farm if he does need blue wool, though.

Single Malt collaboration would be amazing, but I have the feeling it's just wishful thinking.

Our first "Hermit:" tag is acquired! Feel free to post unrequited lusting towards Xisuma or weird Bdubs/Keralis thoughts (which I totally started having when Bdubs started putting down Keralis Booshes all over his single player world) in the future and there will be more Hermit tags! There will probably also be a "Mojangsta: Dinnerbone" tag in the future as well.

I think I just fangirl-gasmed at the name "Super Hostile Roguelike". Seriously, between this and the FIFA it's like everyone KNEW I was having a bad time yesterday and decided to make it up for me. Vechs is even throwing in Dungeons of Dredmor references, and Gaslamp Games is my FAVORITE GAMING COMPANY IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD. So yes. Um. *coughs* What's next, Cooking with Guude? ...can that be a thing???

HOW AMAZING WOULD BEEF AND DOC TRASH TALKING EACH OTHER IN FIFA BE. Two masters of commentary absolutely ripping into each other over an already very heated rivalry. Plus sexy voices being sexy. PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN.

I am very curious about that prank. Very, VERY curious. I'd die if it was actually a collaboration, whoever it happens to be.

And while I usually don't watch horror game LPs, Pause and Andrea are SO CUTE TOGETHER so I may actually give that one a shot!

Edited: Also, Millbee and Zisteau playing Dark Souls together! They're having a lot of fun and the "Chameleon" spell is hilarious. I hope this means we might get Millbee and Nebris playing Guild Wars 2 together in the future as well.

Oh my god. I don't usually watch Dark Souls so I never would have clicked if you hadn't said anything, but this is incredible. First Diablo with Pause, now Dark Souls with Millbee - it's like Zisteau is becoming a proper Mindcracker, playing all these non-Minecraft co-op games.

Also, Nebs Guild Wars would be awesome full stop, but with Millbee I think I might just explode. They are the Doc and Beef of voices for me.

Edit: I had a feeling Super Hostile Roguelike would make you happy, but I wasn't sure if you subbed to Joe, so there you are lady!

I don't usually watch Dark Souls either, but I watch the full Mindcrack twitter list and when I realized that Zisteau's said "with Millbee" and Millbee's said "with Zisteau" I knew I had to check it out. :D

Zisteau finally made it to someone else's livestream too - and of course it's Kurt's and of course it's to be a coffee snob. I'd LOOOOOOOOVE more Zisteaunian co-op though. ALL THE FEELS.

I will also get all sorts of happy feels voice wise from Nebs and Millbee doing co-op together, you are not alone there. :P

Joe was my first Hermit thanks to his LP of Gift on Andi Buchanan's website download of that map, actually. I'm Team Joe Hills on /r/hermitcraft as well. And Vechs has been talking roguelike on his Twitter too, which makes me even more flaily about his amazingness, as if such a thing is possible.

Ever since I learned Guude went to culinary school and is the main cook in his family I have wanted Cooking with Guude to happen SO VERY MUCH. I imagine it to be kind of like Good Eats, but with less science and more amazing Guude Giggles.

I think the prankster was Zisteau, maybe with others. (I kind of hope so, because that would be awesome.) People are saying it's not up to his usual standards, but it has a lot of his trademarks. He's done the portals before, he's done pretty wool decorations before ... And it's different only in terms of being smaller. He's been doing the America fuck yeah thing forever, and this is just concentrated over-the-top AMERICA FUCK YEAH in your face. I also bet he could do an insane video on this theme. (I am of the opinion that the nether-rack is supposed to be a bombed-out wasteland from an attack, but we'll see. The portals don't really fit. I wonder if they go anywhere?)

Ahaha, Joe Hills. I have no idea why I don't watch more Joe Hills. What I have seen of him is always really funny. And a roguelike Super Hostile? That's possible to do now? That's amazing.

I <3 Joe Hills! His chops as a comedian show in every video he does, it's great.

The map is made up of semi-randomly generated modules that are all interchangable/connectable, kind of like Legos. Spelunky (which is roguelike-like) works in a similar way. I don't know if or how Vechs will release the map so every person has a different map (because that would make it more Properly Roguelike) but I'm certainly intrigued.

Yeah, that's how I understood it based on Joe's explanation. I've also played a bit of Spelunky in the past-- it was actually my first introduction to what "roguelike" meant. Either way, it's pretty cool that the "random" element is being explored here.
