Anyone else catch the Orange Wool livestream that recently ended? I missed the first two or so hours, but it turns out Arkas of all people decides to cause shenanigans by repeatedly attacking MC and Millbs, and near the end Pause shows up, not to kill them, but to show off his diamond brestplate, which he has renamed to be "Millbee's Penis," to both MC and Millbee. At least he's using protection on that thing?

Oh, and apparently MC made an awesome intro, which I just looked into the archives to watch, and it was indeed very awesome. Overall the stream was entertaining enough, though MC was rather tired during the time I was there and not in his usual full energetic mode.

And in other news, Pause has pulled a prank. Apparently he misses his Beef since they haven't done anything together for a while. To which Beef responds that he's willing to do games with him if he just asks. But I think Pause has been too busy naming his armor after Millbee to remember to do that part.

Edit to add: Not related to any of the above, but the B Team's new video (Generik, Bdubs) attempting to fight a wither is hilarious and exactly how I imagine the wither apocalypse to go down.

Wow, I just finished writing a post about basically the same stuff. You beat me to it, though - should have refreshed. I grabbed a screenshot of the first thing Pause said in Millbee's Twitch chat as well - he's such a flirt. Pause's visit to Woolopolis totally made that stream complete.

Pause prank??? Gotta finish today's Waking Up dev commentary video, and then I will be all over that.

Just watching the prank now. Pause must be feeling insecure lately or something, he seems determined to prove to both his guys that he still loves them. :/

You know, Pause's last prank ALSO involved covering one of his boys's bases with a material related to them (string becomes wool) using a new feature, and with signs talking about how much he misses them and begging for attention.

It is very, very difficult to maintain two completely separate relationships, not even because of emotions or jealousy or anything, but because of time. That's why you hear a lot of poly people talk about having 'primary' and 'secondary' partners - sometimes it has to do with emotional commitment levels, but a lot of time it has to do with time commitment levels as well, and sometimes the amount of time you can spend on someone affects your feelings for them. When you're getting emotional fulfillment elsewhere, absence usually does not make the heart grow fonder - a heightened time commitment leads to a stronger emotional bond.

It seems like Pause is struggling maintaining his relationships with both Beef and Millbee (and Andrea). Genny was right with his prank on Pause - you can have one and also some stuff, or you can have both, and basically dedicate everything you have to keeping those relationships going. In the prank, Pause tried to have everything, and ended up losing one when he didn't intend to. Foreshadowing, perhaps?

I've been wanting to give this a proper response, but that was before I got hijacked by the impromptu Kurt livestream. Instead I'll just say: there is so much potential fanfic fodder in all of that.

I've tried to write the Millbee/Pause/Beef triangle TWICE. I just can't do complicated stuff very well; I'm much better at happy, cute love. I hope someone else can do it.

Yeah, I've had discussions here about the Millbee/Pause/Beef thing, and it's a tricky thing to approach. There's just no real way to have a good ending to it.

I find it interesting that Pause is so "I MISS U BEEF" without seeming to realize that it's a two-way street and that he's off with Millbee or someone else as much as, if not more, than Beef is off doing things with other people/alone. Silly Pause.

And of course the funny thing is they do still do stuff together, like the recent episode with Guude, and Chivalry, etc. It's not the same as maps together, but it does count. I do hope they find a map to play, though. I loved the Stay Together Forever map so much.

Yes, that's like what I was getting at with my remark about being too busy naming his armor after Millbee. He's off paying so much attention to other people and then seems surprised that he doesn't see as much of Beef. Or like what crystalllized said that he just can't put forth enough effort to properly maintain all his relationships.

Edit: Oh, now Pause's video is up, and he says he has been asking Beef to do stuff, and according to his side of things, Beef's the one who's "moved on." So many things I could make from this...

Beef is the one whose moved on? OH PAUSE. He's definitely the sort of self-centered person, isn't he? I don't mean that as in selfish, but as in things in his head revolved around him, even if they don't. That is--him playing with Millbee is fine, but Beef playing with Guude = Beef not playing with him, and so on. He has no concept of the fact that he's "moved on" as much as Beef has.

But it's adorable he wants to do more stuff with Beef.

Ooh, yes. And I think that Pause's "moving on" is not the same as Beef's "moving on" in this situation. With Pause, it's just the negligence that comes from spending so much of his energy on his realationship with Millbee and he just doesn't think of Beef as often anymore, again not realizing his role in causing this to happen. With Beef, I'm starting to get the feeling that he really is moving on, like he's accepting that Millbee's always going to be a factor, so he's starting to build on relationships outside of Pause, like doing more things with Guude. In the response vid he didn't sound too concerned with the sentiment behind the prank. He said he'll gladly play with him if Pause would only make a suggestion, but he's also not the one taking the initiative to suggest games to Pause. He's not dwelling, if nothing else.

Yeah, definitely agree with you. I think that it's the mmm, casual manner that Beef's taking that "scares" Pause. Beef's not fighting for attention from Pause. He's very laid-back about it. He's not being jealous or whining or anything. Beef's very mature about it all, and Pause tends to be a bit more immature and needy. Pause wants to be wanted, and Beef's not really playing along in that way. Beef obviously likes playing with Pause and has no problem doing things with him, but he's not going out of his way to jump up and down and say PAY ATTENTION TO ME. If Pause is busy, Beef's cool with that. He'll just go play with Guude, or do some solo stuff. And I think that drives Pause nuts.

The way I see it, it's not quite that Pause actively wants to be chased all the time (though that could be a possibility), just that their intimacy is gone and Pause is afraid Beef doesn't need him anymore. And Beef's willing to still have a friendship with him, but to Pause it's not the same. That's what he's really pining for.

I don't know that I'd personally say I feel like the intimacy is gone or that they've "broken up" but I do think that some of the... puppylove has faded, at least for Beef? I feel like Beef has moved on to the "settled married couple" phase, whereas Pause is still in the "hearts in his eyes" sort of phase. And I think a lot of that is just their personalities. Beef wants to cuddle on the couch watching Top Gear and Pause wants to go out and show off his hot boyfriend and "go clubbing."

Thing is, the more I see VintageGuude as an option, the more I think it actually could be the case that VintagePause or PauseUnBeef or whatever we're calling it could never quite be the same.

I can see that, and I blame GenerikB, because the more Bdubs and GenerikB do stuff together, the less OOG there is, and the less OOG there is the more potential I see for VintageGuude, and less for Beef/Pause, and the more for Pause/Millbee. It's really interesting how Generik has sort of thrown off/shifted the dynamics of the groups...

I've noticed in OOG's Deathly Trails that even when he's drunk, Guude isn't to the over-the-top levels that Bdubs gets. And I think that is more along Beef's wavelength. (Have fun, but don't get crazy.) Whereas Pause is definitely on the "Get totally blasted" level that Bdubs is. In that way, I can see why Guude and Beef might gravitate toward one another. Which isn't to say at all that they don't enjoy playing with Pause or Bdubs, just that sometimes I feel both of them have reached a point where that sort of play is somewhat less appealing to them...

Ah, Generik. His is another character I'll have to look more into in the future. I've got a couple fic ideas rolling around. VintageGuude is what I'm doing next, but the one I want to do after that involves Millbee and the B Team, with a side of Pause. But that's another discussion.

Generik is one of those cases where I'm a bit weird on it, because while I don't have any problem shipping older people, I struggle a little seeing how Bdubs would deal with hermit-hobo Generik sexually... lol. Like, for some people I don't think it'd be a big deal, but I feel like for Bdubs it would be.

Generik is a bit of a weird case, though I would more than likely not be writing him in any shippy way. Not to mention he seems less on board with the whole "teehee, let's make jokes about how we're so gay for each other" thing like OOG does.
