Beef helps Guude work on his produce farm, but only Guude recorded. They talk about why there's no podcast this week (*shakes fist at Pause*) and taunt us with how awesome it apparently was. Semen/seaman/cement jokes are made, in more ways than one. Bizarre web series from the past are discussed, and connections are made to Pakratt's Pondery. General Guude/Beef cuteness is had. At one point one of them made a comment that they're like an old married couple, finishing each other's sentences.

I haven't even watched it yet and I want to draw big hearts around them with GB+VB in the middle. Also, so sad to hear that there will be no podcast. Again. :( It's become a "something good about Monday" thing for me, so it sucks when it doesn't come out.

Now to watch the episode!

DAMMIT GENNY. But you're right. Shame since Guude's been around a lot longer. GenerikB should be GkB!

These guys are so great. The fact that Guude can't pronounce "cement" like a normal person (just like his weird pronunciation of "pinch") amuses me.

Sucks about the podcast. :/

It was Beef that said 'It's like we're married, we're finishing each other's sentences.' Awwwww.

I love that we have this place for the little things like that.

I just watched the group Chivalry and had a quiet squee that Kurt and Zisteau were on the same team, and spoke to each other a bit. (I am so starved for some Single Malt on their own :( )

So far, Chivalry hasn't been super interesting, at least to me - they're not very good at the game yet, and with such a huge group in one call, there isn't much in the way of witty commentary. I'm hoping that they eventually break off into smaller groups of 2-4 players (I'm not sure of the minimum team size, to be honest) so we can actually see some sustained group interaction.

But I feel so bad for Kurt. He doesn't seem particularly excited in any of his Chivalry appearances... It just doesn't feel like he's enthusiastic about playing the game. Hopefully after the official release, there will be enough other players to keep the Mindcrackers who like the game occupied, and the people who are just tagging along to fill out a roster won't feel obligated to play any more.

I agree. I think I'll like it more when it's all Mindcracker vs. Mindcracker teams and smaller ones at that where I can really root for them and figure out their strategies, etc. As is, right now, I've stopped bothering. Loads more things to watch.

On finally watching it though, Guude's reaction was "I want to kill myself" wasn't it? Not exactly shippy there.... :(

It's a weird reaction, to be sure. Beef says, "It's like we're married; we're finishing each other's sentences." To which Guude chuckles lightly. Beef then says, in one of his funny/dork voices, "So cute!" to which Guude says, "Oh God. Kill myself." And Beef makes a kind of disbelieving laugh, and then there's some kind of awkward silence...

It's weird because usually Guude totally hams up moments like that, and frequently acts like a boyfriend or "bitch" or husband or lover of any random given Mindcracker, Beef included. I honestly can't figure out why he'd react that way, both in the "THEY ARE LOVERS" made-up-fantasy way and in the "These are two guys who are friends and not remotely romantically involved, playing a dumb game together" way.

The closest I can come is sort of the way people sometimes act when they're overcompensating for fear of their feelings being found out. It's a sort of high school mentality, though. Say you have a crush on the Popular Cheerleader or something and your buddy is like "You've totally got a crush on Brittany, don't you?!" in a tease-y way and you're embarrassed (and afraid of her finding out and making fun of you / rejecting you, and of people saying a loser like you doesn't have a chance), so you go, "What? NO WAY!" or the faking-naive "Who?" (as if you don't know who the most popular cheerleader is, etc.) or whatever other sort of over-the-top lie vs. the more naturally "She's hot" or "Who doesn't have a crush on Brittany?" sort of casual reply that someone who doesn't really have a crush would say.

"We're like a cute old married couple!" teases Beef. "KILL ME THAT WOULD BE THE WORST THING EVER THAT COULD HAPPEN" overreacts has-a-crush-on-Beef-but-desperately-doesn't-want-him-to-know-he-does-Guude.

But even that doesn't really work, it's just the closest interpretation I can think of.

Alternately, I could see it being a reaction to "Oh god, the fanbrats are gonna ship us more now because of that" but I've never gotten the impression that sort of thing bothers Guude at all, so that seems like an even more unlikely reaction.

I AM CLEARLY WAY OVER ANALYZING THIS SORRY.

I am just so glad I have a place to ramble at length about this sort of stuff that welcomes or at least tolerates such randomness.

:D

Plot could be Guude has a crush on Beef and is afraid of Beef finding out because It's Complicated and there's the whole Pause and Bdubs thing, and poly stuff... IDK. IDK. IDK.

Or if you want to go a more Jason/Dan slant, because Jason has recently developed a crush, and doesn't want to Make It Awkward, and Dan doesn't know Guude's bi/pan/fluid/whatever... (Surprise, Dan's down with it? IDK) DID I MENTION I DONT KNOW?

But I think there should definitely be cuddling on the couch watching each other's favorite movies together.

Hahahaha, excellent. And hey, you never know, movie projectors could still work in a Minecraft world where you can build jukeboxes out of wood and redstone and get records from skeleton's shot by Creepers. XD

But as NO Guude/Beef fic exists, I am sure anytihng will be amazing.

As I said in my lengthy reply to Ms. Mod, it's hard for me to interpret it either way, though. It's almost harder to interpret in a non-shippy way than a shippy way. Like, since when does Guude NOT ham up gay-jokes with Beef? And you can tell Beef is a bit taken a-back by Guude's non-playful-in-return response. Beef's clearly expecting a "Yes, dear" sort of playing-along reaction.

I thought about it being the whole "married makes me want to kill myself" aspect, but even that doesn't make sense since he's clearly happily married, and I'm not sure what's negative to the point of suicide about a married couple finishing each other's sentences. (It's a lot different than "We're bickering like an old married couple." / "Kill myself". It'd make more sense as a reaction there.)

Just call me Captain Over-Analysis!
