Ahaaaa, and here we have the relentless teasing regarding Pause's eleven thousand subscribers. Funny how he's now got an order of magnitude more!

Also, everyone should watch Beef's POV for Episode 10 around 14:40 for a pregenitor to Clever White Text. I take back everything I said yesterday about not seeing where Etho fits in to Team Canada.

Man at the White Text. That was awesome, in my previous viewing of UHC2 I only watched Guude's POV...that was certainly new. Beef REALLY loves Etho, jeez.

More thoughts after I actually watch the episodes and don't just check out what you're talking about XD

You know, it's has a different sort of tension to UHC now, but I like it. Maybe a beat-the-clock style enderdragon team race would be fun? I mean like one team at a time, then reset the map. Dead players get to ghost and stay in the skype call.

I think it could be fun to go back and watch some of the early RFW stuff featuring the Mindcrackers (Team 420OG now has three of them with Avidya's return, and their matches are all against teams with at least two Mindcrackers as well - they faced 10KMC containing Mhykol and MC, JEDS with Etho and Doc, and of course Team Tunnel Rat with Z and Pause). It wouldn't be very shippy though, probably more frantic and at least a little bit silly, and there would be a lot of videos to watch.

OOG did Portal 2 co-op right? I don't think I ever finished watching that. That one could be fun, assuming everyone here has either finished it or doesn't mind the spoilers XD

I'm kind of tempted to write a whole Mindcrack Love Manifesto of why this community exists, why we watch and ship Mindcrackers, etc. It'd double both as "hey Mindcrackers, this is why we do what we do, it's a sincere form of flattery and we're just having fun, we promise" and "hey new non-Mindcrack people, this is why you should watch LPs and why we love it". I've been thinking of doing so for Yuletide anyway, so... But yes, Guude, we do this out of love - just like all that silly fanart and video compilations and everything else, just in another format, we promise!

We could do a season of Race for Wool, especially since RMCT 3 is going on right now (and Blame Disco with Pause and Etho is looking to be one of the strongest teams in the tourney). Perhaps doubled with Vechs Enters Chaos Ensues? Group Rewatch can be shippy, but it's also just a chance to talk about older videos and give the guys some extra views for kicks. Just because we allow shipping doesn't mean that has to be all of the content here - it's just that this is (generally) content that for whatever reason doesn't fit the Reddit. A lot of that *is* shippiness, and we should feel more open to talk shippy here, but we can watch things for reasons that have nothing to do with shippiness if so we choose.

But yeah, I've been thinking of OOG Portal 2 as well. We could also do OOGE Spellbound Caves and compare/contrast their tactics with Mashed Potatoes from Season 1 of Group Rewatch. Heck, at this point OOGE Kaizo Caverns is nearing "old enough" to qualify as well! SO MANY CHOICES.

Like a ship_manifesto but for the whole fandom? That would be pretty cool. It's a shame that community doesn't do RPF and the RPF one is abandoned...this fandom really does sit on a weird line between being RPF and not, since half the time we think of Millbee as a rainbow sheep, and the other half the time he's that hot Welsh guy.

I would totally do a manifesto for OOG or VintagePause if I thought they would take it. The canon also just changes too fast...sigh.

VECHS ENTERS CHAOS ENSUES PLEASE! I haven't seen it in like...three weeks...I'm due for another re-watch :P

On a semi-related note, apparently Mindcrack is a real fandom now - we have a Fuck Yeah Tumblr and that makes it even more official than the subreddit...or something like that...

Oh god, there's a Tumblr too? N-no, I will not join Tumblr. You cannot make me. I will join reddit in a heartbeat, and I will even join Deamwidth for this, but Tumblr will not claim me. I have avoided it effortlessly for so long, and I will not. Even though... there's fanart there I have never seen before. No!

Yeah, or kind of like this thing I wrote for Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex but for Mindcrack, with bonus information on "why RPF" and "why Let's Plays" (the latter of which is covered a lot by Dinnerbone's post). Something worth posting on that yuletide post, you know? But also expanded and awesome enough to present to inquiring Mindcrackers and Mindcrackheads too.

I would be quite happy with people posting Mindcrack ship manifestos here! It's more than appropriate for this community. :D

And Vechs Enters, Chaos Ensues is definitely on the list. Not sure if it'll be Season 3 or later on, but it'll show up.

And I will check out that Tumblr when I get home! I am sure there are pockets of this fandom that even I am not aware of, and I feel as an unofficial "fandom historian" I should make myself more aware. :P

I just have so many thoughts about these episodes! I must say, I love the incessant teasing of Pause for having 11,000 subscribers so hard. Especially this exchange:

Guude: There's a creeper over here, but I don't think he knows about you guys.
Beef: How does he not know about Pause? He has 11,000 subscribers!

That's still like my favorite line ever. Never gets old. :'D

Other things:
-They're a lot braver now that they have potions available, which is a refreshing change of pace because they worked so hard to get there and it's really cool to see them have that power, and Beef takes on the careful role, still trying to promote caution. That always stood out to me for some reason.

-The interplay between Pause and Beef is awesome. Like Beef mentioning his "Minecraft OCD," so Pause immediately places random blocks everywhere. Then later in the cave when they're out of potions and Pause gets too scared to keep caving, Beef does this adorable affectionate teasing thing, like, oh I would help you get back to the surface, but I still have *tons* of exploring to do, because I still have *so much life left* compared to you. <3 Not to mention when they're out of the cave and Pause gets mad and challenges Beef to kill him right then, and Beef is just all, "...okay!"

-Oh yeah, and of course this line happened:
Guude: I'm just trying to find a way out of here so I can hold Pause's hand out of here.
Pause: Could you hold my dick instead?
Beef: Woah. You guys are at that level of friendship already?

-Is it just me, or is the part where Pause talks about how he rages but doesn't really mean it make him seem oddly vulnerable?

I suppose this is as good a time as any to share my pet theory about Team Nancy Drew. Have you ever heard of the four humors personality theory (this page also has a lot of good information)? I always thought the four members of Nancy Drew fit the four types quite well. Guude is choleric, Pause is sanguine, Beef is phlegmatic, and Baj is melancholic. I love analyzing character personalities, and this theory was the perfect explanation as to why I love their group interplay so much.

As for what series to watch next, I've personally been wanting to rewatch Z's Kaizo Caverns, but I can always watch that on my own if we pick something else. It's not like I'm opposed to OOG(E).

And I would comment on the edit edit, but I think this comment has gone on long enough.

I definitely like that Beef is so protective and careful and that they're still braver as a whole. It's something the others really needed, as you said.

And Pause's rage really seems like a shield for his vulnerability. He's talked before about depression and anxiety in the years between when he finished high school and when he started doing Youtube full time, especially in the last "regular job" he had, and I think he expresses that in his rageiness. I think you see that vulnerability a lot in how he handles his often angry Youtube audience; contrast it to, say, Etho or Doc, who also troll but handle things much more gracefully.

I'd really love to see someone explore that concept, of Pause's anger and his sadness and how the others in his life help him cope - especially Beef, who is the most even-tempered person ever. (Seriously, not even cursing taking three villagers over thousands of blocks, including over an ocean? HOW DO YOU EVEN, VINTAGEBEEF.)

I would totally be up for some single player LPs in the future, but I kind of want to feature major co-op when I can, because I think (with or without the shippiness) that's one of the most fascinating things about this server - how everyone plays off of each other, and how strong these friendships can be, even over the Internet.

That's how I see it too, that the rage is often a defense mechanism to avoid having to show or deal with the darker parts of himself. And I really like the contrast you pointed out with Beef being so even tempered (and my god, that episode with the villagers was priceless).

Oh yeah, that makes sense, wanting to do more collab stuff for the rewatch. The interactions are definitely one of my favorite things about the server too.

Sorry I'm late folks, just finally got around to watching these two episodes and they were great. You're right I think about Pause's rage thing being a cover up. And it came out as that when he sort of did that sweet apology, which is awesome.

It seems like Guude and Beef both had more than 11,000 subs at this point, which is amusing. Do we know how many Etho had comparatively at this time? It's crazy to see how far they've come in such a short time. In fact my whole perception of time with Mindcrack is skewed. Part of me feels like this was recorded SO LONG AGO!!!!!!!11 but in reality it wasn't even a year ago. Just so crazy how fast everything has grown up around these guys.

I had more to say about the episodes, but I'm really tired and this thread is probably already a bit old, so I'll just grin and say yay!

This whole thing had me thinking about what if one of the Mindcrackers lurked here, what if they commented on something here, what that comment might consist of, and how the rest of us might respond. And now with Pause's comment, we know there's some fanfiction out there that we don't know about. Something about ponies, apparently.

It drives me crazy that there's fanfic we don't know about. I really do care about preserving the historical fandom artifacts of this tiny fandom and finding pockets of writers, wherever they are. I've responded to both Pause and Guude accordingly.

Just saw that Pause commented. The ponies addition makes me wonder if it's not some part of /r/mylittlenebris. I've honestly never checked the comm, but I do know it exists and has had some content. Perhaps it was posted there? But chances as well are that it was some YouTube comment or random bullshit that was never officially posted anywhere...

Just checked My Little Nebris, and no, it's not there as far as I see. (I do seriously love that there is a Vechs pony, and Vechs likes it so much that it's part of his Youtube background.) It probably was some random Youtube comment or something though, sigh.

Nominated Etho, Doc, Genny, and Millbee in accordance with what you said earlier. The fandom got changed to Minecraft (Video Game) by accident or something, but I tried to change my norms to Vechs and JoeHills after I noticed that, and they were already taken. So. We shall see.
